Hand Placed Horrors (HPH) adds creatures from various creature mods into Skyrim’s world in a controlled and lore-friendly way. Creatures are integrated into the spawn points provided by Hand Placed Enemies - Light, with a 50% chance to pull from whatever is already installed in your game and a 50% chance to pull from a compatible creature mod.

When using multiple creature mods (especially as many as Hand Placed Horrors supports), spawns added by each mod can overlap and overcrowd areas. Hand Placed Horrors includes optional patches to disable spawn points added by compatible creature mods. This approach maintains balance and avoids the common issue of having too many creatures clustered in the same areas when multiple mods are installed.

By using Hand Placed Enemies spawn points, Skypatcher to add compatible creatures, and unique leveled lists for Hand Placed Horrors, everything else in your game will be completely untouched for compatibility and consistency. Each creature type is added into the game gradually as the player levels so you do not encounter the same enemy types throughout a game. 


Features
  • Controlled Spawning: HPH disables all new spawn points from creature mods. Creatures only appear through Hand Placed Enemies - Light spawn points.
  • Lore-Friendly Placement: Dungeon creatures appear only in dungeons, while surface creatures are limited to above-ground areas.
  • Combat Type Grouping: Creatures are organized into melee, ranged, and magic categories. They spawn only in places where they replace enemies of the same combat type.
  • Progressive Scaling: Creatures start appearing when the player reaches level 5. As the player levels up, new creatures are added gradually. By level 65, over 125 different creature types can appear, depending on which creature mods are installed.
  • No Modifications to Creatures: HPH doesn’t alter the stats, abilities, or behaviors of any creatures from the original mods.

Compatibility 
HPH is fully compatible with:

  • Other mods changing the appearance, stats, or behaviors of the affected creatures - HPH only moves their spawn points
  • Encounter zone mods
  • Combat overhauls
  • Enemy overhauls

HPH requires:
  • Hand Placed Enemies - Light
  • Skypatcher
  • At least one compatible creature mod to actually do anything (compatible mods listed in the Requirements tab)


Installation Options

Two versions of Hand Placed Horrors are available. Choose only one.

  • The main file is a FOMOD including optional installs of the Skypatcher files for each creature mod, and optional installs of the Disable Spawns plugins to disable the NPC placements in creature mods.
  • The optional file installs all Skypatcher files from Hand Placed Horrors, but none of the optional plugins to disable spawns from creature mods. It is a available as a simpler, one click install.
