Character Expansions Revised is my favorite NPC overhaul for numerous reasons, including the use of vanilla assets, how vanilla-friendly it is regarding its changes, yet how dramatic a difference it makes compared to the vanilla game.

Like many, I follow the Viva New Vegas guide before adding my own mods on top of it, and this one is arguably the one I can't live without. I was tired of remaking my patches from scratch every time I reinstalled the game, so I decided to upload them here. Moreover, I've included my FaceGen Tint Fix from my personal mod page.

PATCHED MODS

The following mods have been patched from scratch. You do not need any patches already present in the Character Expansions Revised optional files section.

The patches are provided in a BAIN installer. Simply check the patches you would like to install using Mod Organizer 2.

There are two merged patches available:

• AIO (VNV): all-in-one patch that contemplates all mods when using the Viva New Vegas modding guide. Most users will use this patch.
• AIO (VNV Classic): all-in-one patch that uses JSawyer Ultimate instead of Vigor, and also includes Mojave Raiders compatibility. For users accustomed to older versions of the guide, which featured both of these mods.
  
  

Both AIO include an additional patch for FPGE. If you don't use that mod, simply hide/delete the plugin.

Load order is pretty simple: load the patches after the mods they are meant to patch. Mojave Raiders needs patches for Uncut Wasteland and Essential Vanilla Enhancements Merged, which are provided. The Mojave Raiders patch is already compatible with the JSawyer Ultimate patch, so load MR after JSUE.

Needless to say, if you use an all-in-one patch, load it after every mod listed above.

WHY SHOULD I USE THESE PATCHES?

Because without them, you are either sacrificing the edited NPC appearances, or the numerous bug fixes, equipment changes, stat tweaks, restored content edits made to NPCs. These patches ensure you get all these tweaks at once.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Natural Eyes goes very well alongside this character overhaul. It is the most realistic eye replacer on the Nexus.
Vanilla Hair - No Shine gets rid of the unnatural shine on character hair. Another recommended addition to your mod loadout.
Eyelashes New Vegas and HD Teeth and Natural Eyelashes complete the NPC appearance overhaul. For the first mod, install the 1.1 release and disable both plugins. Grab the Eyelashes New Vegas ESP from the Optional Files in this page instead, which includes fixes for a number of oversights in the original mod. Check the images section on this page!
