About this mod

Eat, drink, sleep, and stay dry or suffer the consequences. This is a one-mod survival solution for the OpenMW engine featuring: Temperature regions, lua icons, detailed cooking and grilling based on Affa's recipes, support for OAAB & TR Data and PT. It includes the features of Merlord’s Frostwind and jarizleifr’s Basic Need for OpenMW

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Changelogs

Requirements:
- OpenMW 0.49
- Tamriel_Data
- OAAB_Data
- A "New Game" is required (!)

Installation:
Devilish Needs.ESP
Devilish Needs.omwscripts
(Activate both)

Features:
- Implements hunger, thirst, exhaustion, temperature, and wetness, each with lua icons and gameplay effects
- Adjust icon position and toggle death from hunger/thirst in the Scripts menu. Lua icons disappear in screenshot mode (command: tm)
- Includes crafting (campfires, tents, sleeping bags, axes) via opening the Crafting Book in your inventory.
- Cooking and grilling based off Affa's recipes
- Publicans now offer hot meals and drinks
- Easy integration with food and drink items from other mods.

Hunger

- All food items (including OAAB and TR Data items) reduce your hunger. Some are more effective than others..
- Cook 13 meals and grill 4 over a craftable campfire with the right ingredients. Recipes inspired by Affa's AFFresh.
- Eating raw meat can cause disease

Thirst

- All drinks (except potions, for now) reduce thirst, including those from OAAB and TR / PT.
- Boil water at campfires and fill bottles, flasks, and other containers for travel.
- Ask any publican who has a kegstand to fill up your flasks and bottles. You can either fill them up yourself at the kegstand or let the publican fill them up for you (if you ask the topic again)
- Go to a well and sneak in front of it to fill up your cooking pot, bottles and flasks

Exhaustion
- Sleeping resets your exhaustion, but waiting increases it.

Temperature

- Regions like Solstheim or Skyrim are cold; Cyrodiil or Red Mountain are hot.
- Weather, time of day, wetness, armor, race, lava, fires and damage types affect temperature.
- Your temperature decreases when you are wet, drink water, go inside, or get hit with frost damage.
- Your temperature increases when you are near lava or a campfire, hold a torch, or get hit with fire damage.
- Nords and Khajiit feel a little warmer in general. Light armor protects against the cold better than heavy armor.

Wetness
- Decreases your temperature

Blight Storms
- Blight storms may infect you with blight disease over time.
- Sleeping in a bedroll reduces the chance.
- Tents provide full protection.

Is this Ashfall for OpenMW?
- No. This is not intended to be Ashfall. It's a standalone survival system created for my own playthrough. You're welcome to expand or modify it (see permission section), but please don’t request it to become Ashfall.

Troubleshooting & Avoiding Trouble
- If you are using a modlist, ideally load Devilish Needs.esp and Devilish Needs.omwscript at the bottom of your load order
- DetailDevil, the food and drink items don't reduce my hunger nor thirst -> You probably have ignored the "new game" requirement.
- How do I fill my cooking pot with water? -> You sneak near the water. Where do I buy one? At Arielle's Tradehouse in Seyda Neen for example.
- How do I access the crafting menu? Drag and drop the Crafting Hammer or Devilish Needs Crafting guide on your player model (in your inventory).
- Do not use Frostwind or Basic Needs for OpenMW in addition to this mod. Devilish Needs includes them.
- My mod must be loaded after Adventurer's Backpacks, or you can try the patch in the optional files by the MOMW team.
- I usually use the latest OpenMW 0.49 Development build, which can be downloaded here: https://openmw.org/downloads/

Credits:
- Merlod for creating Frostwind - a camping survival mod and allowing me to integrate it into Devilish Needs
- Jarizleifr for creating Basic Needs for OpenMW and giving it open permissions for derived works.
- Zusk for the kegstand inspiration, I also looked at his lua script to find out how to replace statics with activators.
- Jamuro for improving my script, in particular adding some nil checks and improving the meat -> disease logic
- This mod wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the work of the two authors above!
