"Guiding, as practiced by the esteemed Guild Guides of Tamriel, represents a convergence of magic and transportation unparalleled in its complexity and efficacy. Enabled by the consumption of Virinium, a substance crafted from powdered ebony ore and said to approximate the blood of the divine entity Lorkhan, Guiding allows mages to traverse individuals across vast distances with little more than a thought. However, the true marvel of Guiding lies not merely in its capacity for physical transportation, but in the intricate network of magical communication and linkages it forges between practitioners."

- Excerpt from On Guiding: Exploring the Mysteries of Guiding and Virinium: A Scholarly Inquiry

Overview:

About a year ago, I noticed that Morrowind's Guild Guides have some minor similarities to two factions from the Dune Universe. The first and more obvious one is the Spacing Guild, who are able to send individuals through space instantaneously. The second is the Bene Gesserit who are essentially a group of all female mystics, much like the Guild Guides of vanilla Morrowind. In this mod, I expand upon these similarities by exploring the source of the Guild Guides' power, the effect of that power on their mental and physical well being, and the additional abilities being a Guild Guide grants.

Features:

A distinct Guild Guide faction that is now independent of, but still closely aligned with, the Mages Guild

A new guild hall for the Guild Guides located beneath Mournhold

A short questline that begins on Vvardenfell, and eventually ties in to the Tribunal Main Quest

A new, immersive method of early travel to Mournhold

New lore for the Guild Guides, explored through dialogue entries and two new lore books

A small, new, exterior-only Daedric ruin, located in a crater in the Azura's Coast region (quest related)

A fairly major decision to make at the end of the Tribunal questline, with significant ramifications for each outcome

Major improvements to one of the original rewards from Tribunal

An optional MWSE overhaul of Guild Guide travel services by Zackhasacat:
- Makes Guild Guide fees much more expensive to reflect the high costs of the service established in the lore of this mod
- Discounts are available for high-ranking Mages Guild members
- The new rates also apply to any companions you are traveling with
- Guild Guides are sticklers for the rules, so discounts only apply to companions who are also Mages Guild members

An optional Tamriel Rebuilt Addon, that adds Guiding Guild uniforms and paraphernalia to the Guild Guides from TR

How to Start:

There are two methods to begin the new questline in this mod:

1. Start the Tribunal Main Quest in the typical way. The Guiding Guild questline will take over when you speak with Asciene Rane.

2. Speak to any Guild Guide after becoming an Evoker in the Mages Guild, or earning a reputation of at least 15.

Compatibility and Load Order:

For mods affecting Guild Guides and the Mages Guild:

Beautiful Cities of Morrowind - Compatible; Load The Guiding Guild after BCOM
The Wolverine Hall - Compatible; Use the alternate WHO plugin file when installing the Guiding Guild; Load The Guiding Guild after the Wolverine Hall

For Mods affecting the Azura's Coast:

Azuras Coast Redone - Fully compatible
Mid Mushroom Overhaul - Fully compatible

For mods affecting the Tribunal expansion:

Expansion Delay - Fully compatible

Installation:

1. Install all of the files in the 00 Core folder.

2. Install one of the ESPs from one of the 01 folders. If you use The Wolverine Hall, install the ESP from the WHO plugin folder. Otherwise, install the ESP from the Vanilla plugin folder.

3. If you want the overhauled Guild Guide travel costs, install the files from the 02 MWSE Addon folder. The MWSE Addon also functions in the vanilla game so you can install independently of The Guiding Guild if you wish. Requires MWSE.

4. If you want The Guiding Guild's visual overhaul to apply to the Guild Guides from Tamriel Rebuilt, install the 03 Tamriel Rebuilt Addon. Requires Tamriel Rebuilt.

5. If you use Mage Robes, install the files from the 04 Mage Robes Compatibility folder. The included ESP modifies from scripts from Mage Robes to prevent Guild Guides from receiving the Mages Guild Robes. It must be loaded after the original Mage Robes ESP. The included MWSE file modifies the MWSE blacklist for Mage Robes to include Guild Guides.
