About this mod
Restores the ability to loot crashed Vertibirds, and the Ancient Wrecks littering the Commonwealth. You can now get the levelled loot Bethesda originally intended to be available. Created as a low impact ESL tagged ESP it should not conflict with any other Vertibird Mod. Requires no other Mods or DLCs (Unless FH & Nuka VB looting option chosen)

It does not break Precombines.
Now supports all Languages (with Multilanguage version).
Added patches for some mods that add more Vertibird Wrecks (to make them also lootable).
Added article on creating your own patches.
Details:
Bethesda created a Death Loot Leveled list for Vertibirds but then did not allow you to access it on Destroyed Vertibirds.
This mod fixes this by making the various Vertibird Wrecks around the commonwealth have an associated (invisible) lootable container.
It also makes the wreckage of shot down BoS Vertibirds into an Activator that can access the destroyed Vertibird's Inventory.
It is a pure Creation Kit ESL flagged ESP so does not use a load order slot. No existing Bethesda scripts are modified, so it should be compatible with most Vertibird mods.
Compatibility:
I have checked a number of 'better vertibird' mods (highly recommended as vertibirds are weak otherwise) and found no problems.
Personal Vertibirds from other Mods will be lootable if they use the Vertibird Race (most except Pchela seem to), however they will not have the Death Loot if they don't use the Vertibird template Traits or have the "Death Items" field unpopulated. You can tell this if all you get is 1 bullet from their wreckage.
The Bethesda Vertibird Death loot levelled list (LLD_vertibird) is a bit lame, but I will leave it to other 'better loot' mods to improve on this.
Compatibility with Mods that add more Wrecks:
More Vertibird Crash Sites - Requires Patch (in Optional Files) for those new wrecks to be lootable.
Rsiyo's Location Pack - Requires patch (in Optional Files) to make the Wreck it adds lootable.
Lima Detachment - Requires patch (in optional files) to make the wreck it adds lootable.
Helipad with Hazards - Requires Patch (in optional files) to remove invisible obstacle after cleanup.
Incompatible (unless patched):
Immersive Hunting Overhaul Duplicates the functions of "Lootable Vertibirds" so incompatible. Use one or the other, not both.
Horizon Removes the "Death Loot leveled list" Lootable Vertibirds adds - Requires Compatibility patch to restore this (see Optional files section).
Explosion Knockdown Removes lootable explosion wreckage - Requires Compatibility Patch (see Optional files section)
Cryo and Fire Damage and Resistances Restored Removes the "Death Loot List" from Vertibirds - Requires Compatibility Patch (See optional Files)
Better Locational Damage As above - Requires Compatibility Patch NOTE: This mod and the above Cryo and Fire Mod conflict.
Adding/removing this Mod:
As in game BoS Vertibirds are created 'on the fly' when you are in their encounter zone, it is safe to add this mod mid gameplay as long as there are no vertibirds visible when you saved/resumed play. Similarly don't remove this mod if there are Vertibirds or Wreckage visible when you saved.
As always, it is best to go to an internal map area (like homeplate) and savegame before removing these sorts of mods (if you must do it at all).
Bugs/Annoyances:
- Ancient Vertibird wrecks do not show up in "Loot detector" style mods.
- I have not changed the VB death effects in any way, or the models or Vertibird scripts, so any weird effects are due to existing Bethesda bugs.
- The BoS Vertibird Wreckage won't hang around long - especially if you leave the cell - so don't delay your looting.
If no Search option comes up when Activating the Wreckage - you are too late.
- If the Wreckage Inventory shows just one 5mm round then some other mod has replaced the Vertibird Template (encVertibird01Template), or
if it is a Personal Vertibird, then it is missing the "Death Items" attribute. Talk to the mod authors to fix or make your own merged mod.
Usage:
You are free to modify this mod for your own purposes (I have included the script source) but you cannot republish it or your modified version without my consent. I have distributed the (No DLCs) version on Beth.net for Xbox.
History:
While working on Flyable Personal Vertibird mod I wanted to be able to recover its Inventory if it was destroyed. I could not find any existing Mod that made the debris lootable so was forced to create this. As it is self-contained I decided to publish it as my first attempt at giving back to the Mod community.
