Changelogs
As a longtime player of Horizon and a fan of the Flyable Personal Vertibird, I never felt the Vertibird was particularly well balanced for the more rigorous Horizon gameplay loop. I wanted to reduce the game balance impact it has.

This patch makes the following changes:

  • Increases Vertibird construction cost to be more difficult and in line with Horizon:

  • Aluminum x 200
  • Adhesive x 30
  • Gears x 50
  • Oil x 20
  • Military Circuit Boards x 5 (Found at Military bases and other locations)
  • Welding Supplies x 300 (Crafted in Armor Bench)
  • Vertibird Parts x 6 (Found on crashed vertibirds or on the vendor @ Prydwin)
  • Minigun x 2

  • Uses Horizon workshop perk requirements for Vertibird Construction:
Instead of requiring a player to have the Science perk, I used Workshop Technology III & Workshop Craftsmanship III. I may increase this to IV for one or both if this appears to be too easy.
  • Adds Master Locks to Crashed Vertibirds
I wanted to simulate the act of breaking into the vertibird to extract parts. While these are master difficulty locks, they can be opened with Horizon's Locksmithing tools or Explosives. The lock breaking functionality is dependent on distance from the center of the placed model. Climbing in the cockpit appears to be the most reliable option.
  • Moves Construction Recipes From Chemistry Workbench to Tech Workbench.
  • Adds Appropriate Icons to Tech Workbench Recipes.

Load Order:
Follow load order guidelines on the Horizon Wiki/Install pages! That said, FPVertibird.esp & LootableVertibirds.esp should be placed before Z_Horizon.esp with other mods. Place Z_Horizon_Vertibird - Balance Patch.esp after Z_Horizon.esp with your other Horizon patches.
