Description

  • Improves Player Movement: When you move in a direction, this mod makes it so that the player will continue rotating towards the aimed direction even if you let go. This fixes the base game issue of constantly struggling to select the tile you want. I also increase the rotation speed so that this feels more natural.
  • Easy Vehicle Movement: In the base game, vehicles only move if you are accelerating. Moving left or right simply rotates the vehicle. This mod makes it so that instead, moving left or right also accelerates and moves in that direction, and rotation is now more akin to player rotation, causing the vehicle to face that direction instead of rotating endlessly. This feature also means that when playing with a mouse, you can simply move forward and use the mouse to change your direction if you'd like.
  • Vehicle Speed Changes: Most of the vehicles felt a little too slow, so I generally increased speeds but tweaked each vehicle individually for the right feel.
  • Reverse Speed Changes: Many of the vehicles had decreased your speed dramatically when reversing. This makes sense for some vehicles (jetski, tractor, lawn mower), but why would a row boat move that much slower in reverse? So, I generally increased reverse speeds but individually tweaked them.
  • Acceleration Changes: In the base game, the acceleration of a vehicle determines both how quickly it gets up to speed when you accelerate, and how quickly it comes to a stop if you stop accelerating. So, in general I increased accelerations for all vehicles to improve vehicle responsiveness to input. The Emu and Row Boat in particular felt annoyingly drifty, so their values are increased the most.
  • Configurable: You can individually disable the above changes in the config file.
  • Compatibility: Compatible with all known mods. Tested and working on Dinkum v0.4.6 Hotfix #8 using BepInEx 6.0.0-pre1. Let us know if you have issues on versions later than this.

Instructions

  • Make sure BepinEx 6 is installed.
  • Extract "dev.TinyResort.BetterMovement.dll" into the "Dinkum/BepinEx/plugins" folder.
  • Start up your game and test it out! 
  • Configuration: Go the "Dinkum/BepinEx/config" folder and open the "dev.TinyResort.BetterMovement.cfg" file. Just set your preferred values, save the file and restart the game.
