About this mod

Makes all work tables (crafting stations, cooking tables, etc) use materials in any nearby chest along with your inventory. Also works in multiplayer (even if the host doesn't have it). It even works for crafting shops, such as Franklyn and Ted Selly.

Description
  • When using this mod, all work tables (crafting table, cooking table, etc) will include all items in nearby chests as usable materials... as if they're in your inventory! This also works for crafting shops, like Franklyn and Ted Selly. If there are chests within range, they will use them.
  • If you have an ingredient/material in multiple places, crafting will try to be smart about which ones it uses. For non-stackable items such as tools, the items with the lowest durability/fuel will be used first. 
  • By default, it will use items within the player's inventory before chests. If you prefer it to use items in the chests first, then you can change it in the config options.
  • Multiplayer: Mostly compatible with multiplayer. The client can only use chests inside the player's house when they are inside and outside when outside. 
  • Crafting In Mines: Currently, if you use a crafting bench in the mines it will not look for nearby chests. This is intentional, because it would otherwise allow you to craft using materials in chests that can be found in the dungeon. However, if enough people want this changed, we will find a solution.
  • Compatibility: Compatible with all known mods. Tested and working on Dinkum v0.4.6 Hotfix #8. Let us know if you have issues on versions later than this.

Instructions

  • Make sure BepinEx 6 is installed.
  • Extract CraftFromStorage.dll into the "Dinkum/BepinEx/plugins" folder.
  • Start up your game and test it out! 
  • Configuration: Go the "Dinkum/BepinEx/config" folder and open the "tinyresort.dinkum.craftFromStorage.cfg" file. Just set your preferred values, save the file and restart the game.

Configuration

  • Range: Roughly the number of tiles away from the work table that will be checked for chests. The default value should cover most people, but if your base is sprawling and a distant chest isn't being picked up, set this value higher. Currently the max range is limited by your view distance setting. So, if your chests are sprawled out and you want them accessible, make sure your view distance is as high as possible. We plan to create a workaround before full release. (Default: 30)
  • Use Player Inventory First: If you have usable materials in your inventory AND in a nearby chest... which do you want to be used up first? Set this to true to use materials from the player's inventory before reaching into chests. Set to false to use chest inventories before taking from the player. (Default: true)

Planned Features

  • Range: We plan to create a workaround to range being limited to chunks within view distance.
  • Known Issue: In multiplayer, if you use a crafting shop (such as Franklyn or Ted Selly) and choose to craft an item, it is possible for someone to remove items from storage while you are confirming with the seller. In this case, the item will still be crafted, but the items will not be used.
  • Known Issue: In mutliplayer, when someone with the mod is working at the crafting table, sounds will play of chests in the vicinity opening and closing every time the game verifies the contents of nearby chests. The player themself will not hear the sounds, but other players will hear the sound. Fortunately, its not loud and you need to be close to the chests to hear it, but we'd like to make it so nobody hears the sound effect.
