About this mod

Abernathy Farm stripped down and turned into a fort. Only a couple of mods required. No DLC required. Now updated with Transfer Settlements V1.41.

Permissions and credits
Fort Abernathy

* This was released in early 2017. Since then I have learned a few more tricks and came up with this design which I think is much better. The best part is that it requires almost zero scrapping. Finish the quest, open the workshop and drop the blueprint... *

* Fort Abernathy V2 *

Tired of using so much of your settlement budget building a defensible perimeter? I did. So now I use my settlements as my perimeter. I know of the mod to the expand settlement budget, but I saw it as a challenge to make all of my 'Forts' keep within the game budget using only what I actually scrounged.

This 'Fort' has -
  • 20 Beds
  • 24 Water (Better Generators )
  • 20+ Food
  • 263 Defense
  • 3 Stores
  • All crafting workbenches

Required Mods

Transfer Settlements
Better Vendor Stalls - (Complete version)

Recommended Mods

Better Generators
Longer Power Lines
Clean Beds

Additional Fort Abernathy Notes

Try and arrive about 7am so you have a full game day to scrap everything. Store all the Tatos out front of the farm and leave the melons out back. This will make the Abernathys work the melon patch and keep out of your way all day.

You may want to use Spring Cleaning
, or a similar mod, to remove the usual rubbish.... (Not a required mod) ...and I do mean everything.
I stripped the placed bare except Bessie's stable and the floor boards just outside the front door where the workshop is and the cat hangs around.
The cat is scripted and if you remove those floor boards it gets stuck. (See last screen capture)

Store the melon patch out back after you drop the blueprint. You don't want your settlers in the line of fire.
Better they are inside the 'Fort' where it is safe. ;)

Another of the reasons for this configuration was I got tired of repairing my own crops due the laser and missile turrets fire.

I have removed my rocket and heavy laser turrets from the first version, so you will have to work on those yourself. ;)
I used turrets to string the electrical wiring together, so until you have the appropriate turrets just add a few pylons.

Yes, the machine-gun turrets are facing the center courtyard. Thanks to Bugthesda enemies often spawn inside your settlements. On Survival Mode I had 3 radscorpions, including one legendary, spawn inside here and the turrets cut them to pieces in seconds without destroying most of the plants.

Installation

The folder needs to be extracted and placed in your 'Transfer Settlements' folder. 7zip

If you like this design could you hit that little 'Endorse' button for me? I would really appreciate it. :)

My other 'Vanilla' Blueprints.
None of my blueprints are designed to be pretty. :)
What they are designed to be is no DLC required, two mods maximum required, easily defensible,
stay within the 'Vanilla' game budget and have everything you need.
