Beard Growth Extender

Adds extra stages to Geralt's beard growth. Available in three versions, adding 1, or 2, or 3 extra stages of growth.

NEXT-GEN COMPATIBILITY - This mod works on both Next-Gen and 1.32. DLC2 Improved also works on both Next-Gen and 1.32 (necessary for this mod). I'm not sure about other mods that deal with beards though, so the patches might not be useful for Next-Gen (they certainly work on 1.32).

Credits:

Designs used for all extra beard stages created by Ard Carraigh (X20T3rMiN4t0R).
Credit to SpontanCombust and Gerignak for patch permissions.
Many thanks to Ard (X20T3rMiN4t0R) and SpontanCombust for helping me build the mod!

Requirements: New Hairstyles and Beards For Geralt (DLC2 Improved)

Installation:

1 - Download one main file (1 extra stage OR 2 extra stages OR 3 extra stages)
2 - Install with TW3MM or manually unzip into mods folder. (Don't use Vortex)
 3 - Run script merger

Compatibility and priorities:

The mod changes only one file, a bundled file: gameplay\templates\characters\player\player.w2ent
If you have other mods that change that file they will conflict (script merger will tell you if they conflict because of that file as long as you have it set to check for conflicts in bundled files). But you can potentially still use them even if they conflict by getting the right priority order. For Beard growth extender to work you will probably need to give it higher priority than the others editing the same file.

Other mods may not be compatible because they do something with beard growth in scripts. I have made patches for the two that I know of. Let me know if you think you have found another compatibility problem and I will see if I can patch it.

Mods known to conflict because of the bundled file:
Brothers In Arms - TW3 Ultimate Bug Fix and Restored Content Collection - give higher priority to Beard Growth Extender and both mods will work.
(One bug fix from BiA will not be active - hair change when using Piercing Cold mutation. Let me know if this bug is affecting you and I will make a patch).
Dynamic Wet Face -  give higher priority to Beard Growth Extender and both mods will work.

Mods that need patches:

Immersive Beard and Hair Trimming - install the appropriate patch
Lip Movement and HiRes Shadows - Install the appropriate patch

Installing patches:

If you also use Immersive Beard and Hair Trimming or Lip Movement and HiRes Shadows mods then you must install their corresponding patches:

1 - Download the patch corresponding to your chosen extra beard stage file.
2 - Install with TW3MM or manually unzip into mods folder.
3 - Run script merger.
- You will get conflicts with the original mod that you must manually merge.
Don't worry, it's easy. Just always pick the option that corresponds to the patch, NOT the original mod.

A note on immersion:

The mod only adds up to 3 extra stages. The difference in length between the last vanilla stage and the first extra stage is bigger than any vanilla length changes, and the difference between the 2nd extra stage and the 3rd is extreme. So if you find any of that immersion breaking, choose accordingly. I would like to add in between stages, but I don't have the knowledge for making new beards. The best I can currently do is use the beards from DLC2 Improved. If you know how to make new beards for a more gradual increase in length, please let me know.

Testing the mod:

1 - Make sure to go to a barber to get a clean shave before testing.
2 - Make sure to have no toxicity level (sometimes beard growth won't happen if you still have toxic veins on face).
3 - Fast travel between regions. (Beard growth only happens after fast travel between regions - meditation doesn't change it)
4 - You need to fast travel between regions TWICE before the beard switches to the next stage.
So to test all 3 extra stages you will need to fast travel 14 times (8 for the vanilla stages plus 6 for the extra stages).
- Note that Novigrad and Velen are technically the same region, so it won't change by fast travelling within that area.
I recommend fast travelling between the Royal Palace and White Orchard because it is easiest to select them quickly.

My other mods:

Showroom Chandeliers for Corvo Bianco - for much brighter lights inside Corvo Bianco so it is easier to see your armor stands, weapons and so on.
Ciri Scar - Lore Accurate - Lore Friendly - Book Inspired - For making Ciri's scar pretentiously accurate to the book description.
Subtle Bombs - if you think vanilla bombs are too colorful.
Dismount Icon Gone - for removing the dismount icon when you get off Roach. (Best used with other mods for removing HUD elements, e.g. Friendly HUD).

Recommended Mods (used in screenshots):

New Hairstyles and Beards For Geralt (DLC2 Improved): this is actually required for this mod, but also make sure to use its other features!
Immersive Beard and Hair Trimming - this will allow you to grow your beard and hair with potions and to trim them back a stage with scissors, and to tie your hair back.
3D Eyebrows for Geralt - for eyebrows with structure.
Hair and Beard Equal Color - more hair and beard colors so you can find the best match. I use Silver Eyebrows and Silver Beard from this mod and White Hair from DLC2 Improved.
Total Loss of Pigmentation - for a paler, more lore friendly version of Geralt - check out the older versions too and pick your preferred look.
Sezon Burz Witcher's gear - for lore friendly Witcher gear inspired by the book Sezon Burz - Season of Storms.
