This mod replaces the yellow magazine cover of the Beowulf rifle with a colourless one. For use with various Beowulf retexture mods.

The Beowulf Rifle has a yellow-tinted transparent magazine cover (see screenshots) with no associated colour texture file. As a result, the yellow tinge and reflection persist in almost all retexture mods of this rifle that only edit the .dds files. This mod removes the unsightly yellow by replacing the material with a colourless one.
The recolour of the rest of the Beowulf Rifle is not included in this mod. There are many great ones on Nexus. Search using the keyword "Beowulf". This mod works best with the mods that edit the magazine colour (the vanilla magazine is yellow, so you won't see the difference unless it is recoloured). Check the file preview; if a mod edits the magazine colour, it should have a "bullpup" folder and a "bullpup_magsolid_color.dds" file.
I made this so I can have a black and grey Beowulf. I hope this will also be useful as a modder resource until we better understand the material files. Feel free to incorporate this in your retexture projects (no need to credit me unless you want a scapegoat to direct the blame when people start getting CTDs).
TECHNICAL NOTE:
Grendel and Beowulf share the same texture file for the magazine. However, unlike the Grendel, the Beowulf has this extra transparent magazine cover with a yellow tint. The recolour of the magazine texture file does not remove the yellow tinge and reflections in the Beowulf Rifle.
Using NifSklope, I changed the BSLightingShaderProperty of the magazine cover of beowulf.nif from Materials\Weapons\Beowulf\Beowulf_MagCover.mat to materials\setdressing\displaycase\displaycase_glasscleantransparent01.mat
The list of material file paths can be found here.
The display case glass seems to work best for this purpose. The helmet glass is too reflective and obscures the ammo count in the first-person view, whereas the various variants of clean glass are a bit blurry in the third-person view. I would be happy to hear if there's a better option.
INSTALLATION:
Download via a mod manager (recommended). Alternatively, manually extract the files to your Data folder (in Documents\My Games\Starfield), or if you have Baka Disable My Games Folder, to your game Data folder (../Steam/steamapps/common/Starfield/Data).
Ensure that you have created the StarfieldCustom.ini file in "Documents\My Games\Starfield\" and input the following:
