The long-awaited companion to Secret Romantic Letter is here! This mod sends a letter to the player and then causes every NPC (all vanilla and a few custom ones) to then comment on what you've been up to. Secretly install it for your friends or use it yourself with any name that entertains you as your "friend." :D

Please use responsibly! If you aren't 100% sure that someone will love this mod, don't give it to them!!!

If you aren't sure how to get this into someone's mod folder, the following will work on most people in my experience:

• Rename the mod name to be something like "boring stuff"
• Send them an email/DM/whatever you kids use that says "Hey bestie, I have a surprise for you! Could you put this in your mods folder? No
  
  peeking!"
• Assuming they are a good friend, they will do so and laugh extensively when next they open the game.
  
  

The letter should send the next in-game day unless it is the very beginning of the game, in which case it will send during late-spring. If Secret Romantic Letter is also installed, the letter will be sent a week after so as not to overlap.


Make sure you edit the config prior to giving to your friend! You can edit the sample_config.json that's included if you don't want to generate one.

Config Options
Friend's Name: This is the name of your friend. Defaults to their in-game name, but you can absolutely use an embarrassing childhood nickname if you want.
Your Game Name: This is what the NPCs will call you. Defaults to "You Know Who." Call yourself whatever you want. I suggest whatever will make your friend laugh hardest.
Your IRL Name: How the in-game letter will be signed. Defaults to "You Know Who." You can use this to be sincere if you want, or use your own embarrassing childhood nickname.
Sassy or Nice: Choose either "Sassy," "Nice," or "Random." Each NPC has not one but two different things they might say about you! Defaults to "Random" so you can roll the dice on whether or not, say, Penny likes your taste or is mad you spoiled her book.


I invite you to open up the content.json and adjust any and all dialog to suit your tastes and relationship. You can learn more about dialog modding here. It would also be easy to add lines for your friends's favorite custom NPCs. The following custom NPCs are already included: Lucikiel, Juna, Mando, and Sterling.

the letter and dialog of your dreams! If you publish, however, please do not re-use any of the included dialog.
