Part 5 in a series of mini-mods I have planned to add a little variety to the world and hopefully help it feel more alive. "Small changes to make a big difference" is my goal with little subtle details.

In the vanilla game, there are 3 versions of Practice Dummy objects. Bloodchill Manor from the Creation Club introduced a new variant, the Dawnguard dummy. Inspired by the Blodchill Manor content, I decided to make variants for a lot more armor sets, 69 in total actually.

Using the meshes I made in my modders resource (here), I've allowed for several new varieties of the practice dummies to show up in your game.

Using the fantastic Base Object Swapper, the provided  _SWAP.ini file swaps the existing models with my new models at random. I've attempted to make the swaps logical.

  • "Vampire Swap Set"  Similar to Immersive Vampire Clutter by MelwenMods, you can now find my Dawnguard dummies in appropriate vampire locations. If using both together, I would recommend deactivating the specific swaps from Immersive Vampire Clutter which mention "CombatDummy02", "CombatDummy03", and "praticeDummy02" by placing a ; at the beginning of the line.
  • "Imperial Swap Set"  Imperial Camps and locations have a chance to swap to my versions dressed in Stormcloak or Nord gear. Note that as I could not make the swaps civil war aware, I've elected to avoid these changes in cities and towns so there isn't any strange usage (Imperials practicing on Imperial dressed dummies).
  • "Stormcloack Swap Set"  Stormcloak Camps and locations have a chance to swap to my versions dressed in Imperial or Elven gear. Just like the Imperial set above, I've elected to avoid these changes in cities and towns so there isn't any strange usage.
  • "General Swap Set"  Is a bit of a catch-all. Everywhere else has a chance to swap to my versions dressed in Hide, Iron, or Steel gear, or, a small chance of the Chef one. I felt these minimal ones were the most ideal for realism.
  • "Optional Swap Set" Is, well, optional. It includes everything else and is disabled by default. Many of these include armors which I did not personally believe people would be training with due to their value, rarity, etc, but I've included so that users have the option to enable them if desired.

I've also provided an optional patch to allow the dummies to work with Dynamic Things Alternative (either version should work just fine).

If you really want to fine tune it and dive deep into the madness of my
_SWAP.ini file, below is some information on how you can adjust settings
yourself if desired.

In the _SWAP.ini file, you'll notice:
"chanceR(100)" which is is the percentage chance of a swap occurring. The "100" number is just an example and varies depending on the particular swap occurring.

The "chanceR" sections have an "R" at the end which causes the swaps to happen anytime the game is loaded. Alternatively, you can change the "R" to an "S" to make the swaps be persistent throughout an entire save. I prefer the "chanceR" myself as it somewhat simulates that people are actually
using the crates & barrels, cleaning things, things getting dirty, and things get moved around when you aren't there. Thus, the world feels a little more alive.

Any lines can be completely disabled by either deleting it, or just setting a ";" before it. I would say to just set the ";" so you can always enable it later if you so choose.

**Note**
Any overhauls which use the vanilla Practice Dummies will be effected.
