    sounds like a good idea! Would you consider an option that instead of different colours changes the opacity of the character?

      Hey sticky! Just got around to trying the mod, it works almost perfectly! One more thing I wanted to ask for, if it's not too much, could the transparency value be based on the same values the eye ui icon uses instead of the light level? It's an interesting take, having the player have effects based on how lit the scene is, feels very thief-like, however I was planning on using this as a more immersive sneak indicator. No problem if not, the mod by itself is already wonderful and I'll keep using it!

      Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the sneak indicator follows these conditions "Player is sneaking AND not detected by anyone". The problem is I don't know how to make an ability condition that can do the second part, the "AND not detected by anyone". It would probably require someone with actually programming/coding skills for that I'm afraid.

      perhaps a mix of SPID and the IsDetectedBy function? with potentially a HasLOS intermediary phase? although one could detect you when you're outside of line of sight as well, but it could help to know that you're being looked at.

      I mean it's a nice mod but it wouldn't work for VR and its not at all immersive, it's just a different way of doing UI ?
      Showing the sneak level via your own player model being more less opaque when you're hidden with it becoming more opaque the higher your detection level is would be much better for my use case, but I admit it's quite a niche request

    may i suggest a different version for those who use glows be gone?

    Instead of the glowing edge, make a tiny eye icon above the head and retain the color you used on glowing edge that signifies how far the character from a light source. 

    Or make a verrrrry tiny icon but with pulsing light instead of a static one. 

    All in all i like the idea but im using mod that removes the glowing edges so sadly i cant use it :(

      engine level programming knowledge and photoshop skills required to add icons to the Hud is much more advanced than papyrus scripting or creation kit work.

      What FLipdeezy said is absolutely correct, and beyond what I am able to do lol. What I can do, however, is make it a different visual effect than a glowing edge and that would probably work.

      The funny thing is I already started work on this, but to test it I tried to remove the original version's edge glow with glow be gone updated, but nothing happened... So I obviously need to make the original version not work first. I'll update this post once I've accomplished that.

      Edit: Could not get it removed while using  Glow Be Gone SKSE Updated...

      Also: There is this section on the Glow Be Gone SKSE Updated mod page which would allow the mod to be excluded if it really is effected -

      It's only beyond what you can do for NOW, with enough time you can do it for sure, BUT it's not trivial. I am slowly working through it now and it's extremely complex even with .net programming backround, C++ makes me dizzy. 

      Anyway the exclusion method is the perfect workaround.

    Nice. I actually did this for myself with image space mods, radial blur and Heartbeat sound effects, but I think I like the idea of shaders even more.

      Hey, thanks for checking it out, I'm a big fan of your mods!

      Yeah, I saw gameplay for Aragami and was sold on the idea of it being a shader. Did you also use spell conditions, or did you use a different (maybe more resource efficient) way?

      I scripted the conditions, which as you pointed out was not very efficient at all hah. I dont recall exactly how they get applied off the top of my head. Prob a constant spell effect.

      One thing I remember vividly dealing with with was figuring out how to turn off the effects once the player was discovered. The way it worked was if you were hidden and in the shadows the screen would go kinda desaturated, and a subtle Heartbeat effect would play (that was a nice touch).

      I think your implementation is much better. Maybe a tad less advanced but thats a good thing, much more clever use of the engine, and cleaner visuals.
