WHAT DOES THIS MOD DO?

This is the resources file for "High Poly NPC Overhaul" version 2.0 and newer.
Mods in the "High Poly NPC Overhaul" series with version numbers 1.x do not require this file.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VERSION 1.X AND 2.X ?

I have always hated the fact that an NPC's hair is baked into its FaceGen data.
The idea behind this experiment was to generate all NPCs bald, and then attach their hair as a separate body part (you won't notice any difference in game).

Advantages:

  • For all NPC mods that use the resources file as a master, you can easily replace hair styles with different ones without needing to re-export the FaceGen.
  • You can do things with their hair that would normally be impossible. For example, adding physics.
  • NPCs now have a new body per hairstyle, instead of one body for all NPCs. This means you could easily make a patch to create diverse body shapes and/or skin textures if you wanted to.
  • It saves space on your hard-drive.

Disadvantages:

  • The hair is technically a non-playable wig now instead of a body part. This means that creating a patch may require some extra steps.
