    Could this be ESL flagged?

I've run the ESL Flag script in SSEEdit a few times in the past few weeks, and this mod never came up as eligible, so I'm guessing the answer is no.

Yes, this is just an ESP. No scripts or anything to worry about, but likely has to be compacted first.

When I installed it just now it was already ESLed, which surprised me. Haven't tested it yet, tho.

Hope it is safe as it sounds like it may have a cell.

For those who wish to live as a True Nord and reclaim the Old Gods, Remember the Old Ways is a must.

Before, only Wintersun offered any way to pray to the original Nordic Pantheon.  But it was a pain to get to that one piddling shrine, AND it doesn't even name them their proper names.  Just calls them "Animal Gods."

Obviously, the reclamation of the Old Gods should have been what the Stormcloaks were all about, but Bethesda dropped that ball.  With Remember the Old Ways, you can thumb your True Nord nose at both these Imperial and Stormcloak posers!

For those looking to incorporate Remember the Old Ways with another religion overhaul, there's one religion mod out there that complements this one very well:  Pilgrim.

Remember the Old Ways can run concurrently with Wintersun or Trua, but the way in which those grant their blessings is jarringly different from this mod.  Not only does Pilgrim and RtOW seem very similar in their respective boons, but Pilgrim's "Prayer" power allows you to pray anywhere to your old god of choice and stay faithful.  No need to have to travel all the way back to the one old temple to get the boon of the True Nordic Pantheon.  The only reason you would is to choose another god to pray to on the road, (or to pay respects to your Nordic heritage!)

The only inconsistency is that Pilgrim does have a progression system; the more you pray, the more benefits you get.  So it won't count your prayers to the Old Gods for your "faith progression."  This isn't really a problem for me since the religion of my character is not the central focus.

      Highly recommended.

This would be awesome with Wintersun if you follow The Old Ways. Provides an immersive way to use the Aspects of the Animal Gods

Agreed. I'm not a true modder unfortunately, but I'm hoping someone will offer to make a patch for Wintersun.

There's this patch on the Vanilla Skyrim Nexus called Wintersun-Ancient Nordic Pantheon that does change the names of the Animal Gods to their proper Ancient Nordic Names.

If only someone who knows what they're doing could port this to SE, and then probably have to make a patch for all 3 to play nice together.
  4. Orkey is Arkay not Trinimac/Malacath.

They are both the opposites of Tsun and Stuhn and are responsible for Shor´s defeat as Arkay cursed him with mortality (likely poison as he was an alchemist) while Trinimac dealt the killing blow.

It's a bit messy as far I know. On r/teslore I've seen both theories, but I'm just rolling with what the original author had written.

Orkey has aspects of both Arkay and Trinimac/Malacath/Mauloch.  The Nords perhaps incorrectly associate him with the Orcs, since no orc recognizes a god named Orkey, probably because of the obvious homophone.  Then again, they're probably not completely incorrect either, since what's "true" in the universe is....pliable.

It's a fascinating subject, but the description is indeed simply lifted from what the original author wrote.  I wonder what he'd answer.
