Long N' Short Bows

ACE, SkyRE and Perkus Maximus are perk overhauls which also separated bows into two categories: long and short.  However, they also changed much more than that, making compatibility between other mods a hassle.

Long N' Short Bows is basically a stripped down version of the Archery module of ACE, ending up with two distinctly different categories of bows, while being compatible with nearly every other mod.  No scripts, just a plugin which changes the names and stats of bows to make for a greater variety of playstyles.

Long Bows: Heavy and powerful, but also slow and loud.  They have increased base damage but reduced critical damage.  Perfect for that long range shot, and powerful enough to take out enemies once spotted.  Great for the strong armored warriors.

Short Bows: Lighter, faster and silent, but with reduced base damage.  Critical damage greatly increased for quick stealthy takedowns.  Perfect for agile thieves/assassins.

There are two main versions: one requiring nothing else, and one for those who use Weapons Armor Clothing and Clutter Fixes.  Both main versions have Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch changes to bows merged in, though USSEP is not required to have.

There are also several patches available for custom weapons and quests mods.  Though patches are not necessary, any mod which adds new bows would need to be patched to separate their new bows into the categories.

This mod should be compatible with nearly everything.  Any mod that either adds new bows, or changes the stats of bows, needs to be patched.

Some of the popular weapon mods (Weapons of the Third Era SSEHeavy Armory - New Weapons, and Skyrim SE Expanded Skyrim Weaponry) are compatible with this mod, as they do not add any new bows.

Patches available on the files page for: More Weapons Please SEInsanitySorrow Weapons PackLore Weapon Expansion SE, Helgen Reborn, Bruma, Unique Uniques, Immersive Weapons, Falskaar, AmidianBorn Book of Silence (Content Addon), Summermyst, Zim's Immersive Artifacts, Daedric Armor and Weapon Improvement, The Second Great WarLegendary Skyrim Crossbows and Bows SSE, and Armoury of Tamriel v2.0.  A patch for the Anniversary Upgrade is also available.

Please Note: Patches for the weapons mods are required only if you want the new bows added by the mods changed into long/short bows.  Unique Uniques is required if you use it to have Angi's Bow have the new texture and be changed into a short bow.  Falskaar only adds one new bow, so the patch is optional unless you want it changed into a long bow.  The Content Addon from AmidianBorn Book of Silence adds a Skyforge Steel Bow.  There are two patches, whether you want the bow as a long or short bow
