Guards for Aretuza NPC have finally been released!

Before I start explaining (and you should read this time), a huge thanks to scorrp10 for all the help with this replacer.

So, how guards actually work when it comes to apparances?

Guards have two templates: one for Imperials and one for Stormcloaks. Each template includes nine appearances that are randomly selected during spawn. The game assigns appearances based on the NPC's role - basic guard or commander - and determines if the guard is male or female. There are countless guards walking around the world, which is why half of them wear helmets that cover most of their faces. There are only 18 appearances in total for all human guards!

Because of the Civil War and the fact that we can capture cities depending on which side we choose, there are also 5 unique appearances for the gatekeepers. The guards in Windhelm and Solitude, even though there are two at the gates, have the same head. This isn’t a bug, as they are basically the same NPCs.
With the current update, there is also an additional "extra" NPC that patrols Riverwood. This brings the total to 24 new guard models.

So, with that said, they will still be repeatable because there are only a few templates that were originally created, and I’m not adding more to avoid breaking anyone’s game with all the existing city overhauls. Everything is simply... refreshed! :)

Mod enhances immersion - guards no longer look ugly and soulless, especially when they take off their helmets in interiors, if you have mods that make that happen. It also works great with... OStim and all your naughty mods :P

Keep in mind that special guards involved in quests or events, like the guard in Riften who tries to scam you or the guard in Morthal who asks about the missing dog, will be overhauled separately, along with my city overhauls. Unfortunately, they do not follow the template. Besides those special guards, every single one in the world will be affected by my overhaul.

Helgen is next on the list. After that, I’ll continue with the project - other cities.

Meanwhile... make sure to grab my Riverwood and Whiterun overhauls!

I linked the optional mods in the "requirements" tab for easy access, so don't get scared lol

Enjoy, and let me know your thoughts!

Their weight has been changed and the mod will not work properly on recent saves, because there will be a visible neck gap. Commands that change NPCs' weight won't help but will bug their appearance.

For them to work properly on recent saves you need to install Save Unbaker.
On new saves it will work poperly.

Questions & Answers

> Q.: I see darkness... dark faces...
> A.: Yes, you see dark faces because you either:

1. skipped some of the required mods,
2. have an outdated mod list,
3. my NPCs are being overwritten by other replacers.

The pictures of the NPCs were taken using the exact same files I released, meaning if it works for me, it will work for you.

> Q.: Why are there so many requirements?
> A.: It's not possible to achieve the same effect with just two mods, sorry.
I've also included all the necessary patches for HPH, so you don't have to search for them yourself.

This is also a mod that is meant to be used with my overhauls, so people that already downloaded them don't have to download a single requirement now! :)

> Q.: I'd rather not use xyz; I don't like it. What now?
> A.: It's totally fine! Just use EasyNPC and choose the NPCs you like.

> O.: They look too young.
> R.: If you find them looking too young, adjust the BnP skin settings. This is why I love this mod - so many options! You're not limited to just my NPC replacer.
You can also experiment with different complexions. Personally, I’m using the base one that comes with the BnP Skin, as it looks just fine
to me.

How to set it up (with load order)?

Preview:

Just drop the mod into your mod manager, but make sure it doesn’t get overwritten by any NPC replacer you might have installed.
I recommend placing it at the very end of the list to bypass possible override, but before Save Unbaker.
