The Modathon will run throughout the whole month of July and they’ll be keeping the same open, free-for-all format used in previous competitions. If you’re looking to make a mod and post it on Nexus Mods, don’t forget to add the brand new Baldur’s Gate 3 July 2025 Modathon tag too!
Baldur’s Gate 3 July Modathon
With the massive success of the inaugural event last year, the Baldur’s Gate 3 community has returned with an event dedicated to celebrating the creativity and teamwork among modders of Baldur’s Gate 3. Last year, over 175 mods were uploaded and shared on the site, and we can't wait to see what everyone creates this year.
Let's have a look at a handful of the achievements badges up for grabs, and details on the event itself:

Here’s what the organisers had to say about the event:
Here we are again: Modathon time is upon us! 1 year ago we held the inaugural Baldur's Gate 3 Modathon. More than 175 mods were released under the Modathon banner - such as Ice Cube, Testicular Torsion, Configurable Party Limit, Darts, and Loading Screens. Participating mod authors were awarded achievements - badges that can be unlocked and added to mod descriptions - based on their releases, with mods qualifying them for a variety of different badges - some themed, some wildly specific, and some unannounced.
If you've been involved in the Morrowind Modding Community, or were here last year, you might know what to expect, as we're once again taking cues from their yearly Modathon, with weekly themes and month-long rewards. For those new to modding and/or the idea, don't worry - while this event has a few achievements that only one person can receive, the vast majority of the event is non-competitive, and (mostly) freeform. Any mod you release under the Modathon Banner will likely net you a new achievement - we've set up 120 of them to aim for.
Throughout the entire month of July, any modders participating on Nexus Mods who submit Baldur's Gate 3 mods could get a chance to win steam game keys at the end of the event. Participating mods will earn achievements, and a list will be maintained of each Modathon release!
In the future, we'd love to adapt more aspects of the Morrowind Modathon approach - such as holding a Modathon-specific Mod of the Month prize, as well as mod trailers and showcases.
We'd like to note, this event is fan-driven, and is not officially endorsed by Larian Studios (though they're looking forward to seeing what y'all come up with too)
You can find even more details, including information on themes, achievements and rules, on the Modathon forum post here.
