For everybody who wants to run 1.6.640 or older:

Use this mod. It is a great solution for future mods being compatible with old game versions!

    Extremely worth it.

There's still annoying creation club pop-up when loading with .esp's missing, which you will most definitely misclick the first.

I do not have a tab called "DLC". Do you need to have bought the AE DLC to have that tab?

if you are using skyrim AE, there wont be any DLC listed in steam as they are part of the base game now.... so you cant really turn them off.

hey so quick question, skyrim now disregards Vortex and forces you to activate your mods through the creations menu, does this mod fix that? or will i be locked out of activating them because the creations menu is now gone?

Thats what I thought but apparently not. Does anyone know how to activate mods without going into creations and also how use LOOT in 1.6.1130, or do I have to downgrade?

Don't need the mod. Apparently, I got a "bug" that Creations don't appear on Menu. I got a lot of mods like SKSE mods, FNIS mods, AddItemMenu, etc. Looks like it "bugged" my menu of not having Creations not showing. Lol

I'm gonna put in my 2 cents here and say that some of the older "Clean Menu" mods will do the same thing this does (and possibly more) and still work on the newest version of Skyrim.

    to the people defending bethesda:

we want mods from people that made them for fun because they like the game.  that is how it has always been since 2011.  we DO NOT want mods from people trying to make a quick buck.  as soon as the motive is money instead of passion, things fall apart.  it is clear as day, bethesda is not satisfied with how starfield went, so they are trying to milk more money out of their most loved game by charging people for content their own community made.  it amazes me how people will so easily bend over for them and get spoon fed lame excuses.  if you really want to support mod authors, buy their patreon or donate on nexus instead of giving a billion dollar company a cut of the money off someone elses work

Most - if not all CC content - can be had in other mods here on Nexus/other websites free of charge.  No, I'm not promoting piracy of CC content in any way/shape/form by posting this either.  A few examples of what I mean include the following:

      Saints & Seducers -> D.E.R.P
Sunder & Wraithguard -> The Tools of Kagrenac
Survival Mode  -> Campfire &/or Frostfall
Fishing -> Here There Be Monsters, Here There Be Monsters - Call of Cthulu, Here There Be Monsters - Sign of Cipactli & Here There Be Monsters - Trollhunter

These are but a few examples of 100% free mods that render CC content obsolete in terms of overall quality.  None are locked behind Bethesda's paywall either.

agreed bethesda just wants to exploit the modding community for quick $$$ clear as day, you know they're going to take the lion's share and give mod authors a pittance. only way this paid mods scheme would be ethically justifiable is if 100% of the profits went back to mod authors, but of course that's going to happen because they don't really give a damn about the modding community, what they care about is squeezing every last drop of profit from their older games, and implementing the same paid mods s#*! into their new games. that's probably why starfield was such a let down, instead of focusing on making a good game and telling a story, they focused on how to monetize the platform for years and years and keeping milking it like skryim. and it's honestly pathetic how many times they've re-released skyrim, no other gaming studio is pulling stunts like this. is this the same company that made shivering isles DLC? that made morrowind? It really does not seem so. what happened to you bethesda ??

Corporate buyouts/mergers - that's what happened to Bethesda...  Bethesda Softworks aka BGS started as its own company back in 1986.  The initial merger happened in 1999 when Bethesda became part of Zenimax Media.  Zenimax in turn was acquired by Micro$oft in September 2021.  Literally the only reason AE is even a thing is because Micro$oft demanded it just so they could profit off their newly-acquired studio.  This is why the AE .exe (Skyrim AE runtime 1.6+) was recompiled using Visual Studio C++ 2019 vs Visual Studio C++ 2015 (Skyrim SE runtime 1.5.97 & below) - creating the chaos that we now endure in the modding community due to all these unjustified/unnecessary updates that have yet to fix any of the reported bugs over the years...  Corporate buyouts/mergers never ever benefit consumers.  Executives & shareholders laugh all the way to the bank while we the consumers get the shaft.  I have very low expectations for ES6 whenever it arrives since it will be released under the greedy Micro$oft umbrella.

FF&Legend, incredibly based. Thank you for your support of us little people.
Tired of digging through thousands of pages looking for compatibility settings for 2-4 unique versions of this title. Tired of huge mod authors talking down to us like entitled children.
I'm an adult. I work. I donate to Nexus and mod authors. Nobody should mistreat us because I want to use the version of the game I like - especially since I don't even want most of what CC provides. The love and affection mod authors have instilled in their work is worth as much as any CC mod is, and I should have the choice for what I implement in the game I paid for.

To every hardworking mod author big and small, I see you scrolling here. Thank you.

I'm a mod author myself & have ported hundreds of mods from LE format to proper SSE format over the years.  Check my profile if interested.  I've always been an advocate for strict antitrust enforcement & go out of my way to support small locally-owned businesses whenever possible.  I do not condone/support Creation Club whatsoever.  Nor do I support all those corporate mergers/buyouts of the past 20+ years.  Micro$oft is 100% impossible to boycott unfortunately.  They are embedded in literally everything we use in day to day life.  Everything from our computers (OS) to ATM machines has Micro$oft in it in one form or another.  Micro$oft is out of control & will only make things worse for consumers in the wake of the Activision-Blizzard/Zenimax mergers.

Literally this. Most of the big mod authors have links for ways for you to donate if you want. Leave Bethesda out of it. They don't deserve any cut of money for something they didn't make.

@ff7legend note however that "Here there be Monsters" series is sort of broken. Not in the "mod doesn't work right" way but in the "mod alters so much of the vanilla records that it isn't funny", for example one of plugins has 60+ deleted vanilla navmeshes (yes, delted, no they are not "deleted by DLCs").

@Luridum: At the end of the Fishing "creation", one must do battle with a large creature called an Emperor Crab which utilizes an oversized vanilla Mudcrab model in-game.  Here There Be Monsters is similar since it too has one do battle with oversized versions of vanilla & DLC creatures.  Fishing is rather lame whereas Here There Be Monsters spans several epic quests across 4x successive mods.  Suffice it to say that Here There Be Monsters trumps Fishing any day of the week & is also free of charge.  Fishing is also free of charge but requires one to submit to breaking one's saves & opens the door to getting spammed by even more CC content which is locked behind Bethesda's paywall.

@ff7legend: Yes and the answer was silence, I even tried solving navmesh issue myself in whatever way I knew of at that time, but later, when learned proper way, I just had/have no desire to spend time it would require, especially as it's a mod I'm not really interested in.

      There were some Good CC:
      - Arcane Archer (9/10)
      - Dead Man's Dread (9/10)
      - Alternative Armors
      - Bittercup (content to the game added here)
      - Fishing (good content but too much bugs and non optimization of Quests and Scripts). This one I reduced it in my own way to 4 jobs)
Goldbrand (it looks a bit out of context but the authors did a good effort of integration to the game). Again I tweaked this one in my own way. The quest start after you kill the boss of Boethias in the mine and its there were you find the scholar seeking Goldbrand).

Saint and Seducers has no place in Skyrim.
Homes there are better home and new building mods in Nexus.
There are some nexus popular modders that submitted their works to CC and they coicinde with the ones that I have never liked their works (in Nexus as well as in CC).

It's not piracy if the features Bethesda have created by other modders, are then reverse engineered and recreated.

@AliHGNL: Arcane Archer -> Elemental Arrows

Want even more arrows that do crazy things?  Grab Colorful Magic...  That mod has arrows that do everything from striking one's foes down with lightning (Lightning Strike Arrows) to smiting one's foes with meteors (Meteor Arrows).  Arcane Archer CC content is yet another "creation" trumped by other mods which can be had free of charge & are of vastly superior quality.

@vargen14: Creations are GARBAGE & riddled with bugs/ITMs just like the base game/DLCs are.  Why do you think we have unofficial patches for both the base game/DLCs & so-called "Creations" vargen14?  The upcoming Apotheosis mod goes into Elder Scrolls lore Bethesda hasn't even bothered to use in any of their games as of yet so yes, mods can indeed be canon...  Apotheosis will take the player into the Dreamsleeve, Aetherius & all 15 Deadric realms of Oblivion - all of which exist in Elder Scrolls lore.  Even Jyggalaag - the 16th Daedric Prince whose power trumps all the other Princes' power COMBINED - will make an appearance in Apotheosis.  Jyggalaag made a very brief appearance in TESIV: Oblivion's Shivering Isles expansion & was freed from the curse placed upon him by the other Princes at the climax of said expansion by the Champion of Cyrodiil who in turn becomes the new Sheogorath encountered in Skyrim.  He's the only Daedric Prince without either a Daedric artifact or realm of Oblivion to call home since he was shunned/cursed by the other Princes due to jealousy over the vast power granted to him as the Daedric Prince of Order.  Jyggalaag has no interest in mortal affairs - hence why he has no artifact or Daedric quest.  Free mods can in fact be canon since Apotheosis is based off Elder Scrolls lore that has yet to be used in any Elder Scrolls game to date...

it is clear as day, bethesda is not satisfied with how starfield went, so they are trying to milk more money out of their most loved game by
charging people for content their own community made.

I entirely agree with your stance, and I hold nothing but scorn for Bethesda these days. I do want to mention though, that their plans for the "new" Marketplace (AKA Paid Mods 2.0) had been planned for at least a year before Starfield was released. So... one of two things is true: They either KNEW Starfield was going to be a trashheap, or Paid Mods was just intended as yet another attempt at a profit grab, regardless of how well Starfield did, or didn't, do.
I'm just grateful I finished my latest Skyrim build before the update hit, and that I know how to prevent updates. I'm also grateful for companies like Larian...and I am so very happy they cleaned up at both the Golden Joysticks and the GOTY Awards, while leaving Bethesda with essentially nothing (I'm having trouble counting their "Best XBox" award).... so very well deserved in both cases.

Fishing adds a new mechanic with the inclusion of a quest and boss battle. Here there be Monsters focuses on the boss battles. Of course the boss battles of Here there be Monsters would be better.
