============================================================ Why does ILO take so long to update? Sometimes real life gets in the way of hobbies. I am still sometimes working on an update for ILO. Possibly, I'm reworking many areas of the mod. I'm adjusting lighting templates and trying to get rid of lights that suddenly drop off into complete darkness. So it has a more gradual fade into the ambient lighting. Also I'm trying to find a good balance between playing the game in a room with natural light and in a dark room. The gameworld should be somewhat visible in dark areas instead of just pitch blackness in instances where there might be glare on the monitor and bright background lighting. While playing at night in a dark room however it is a totally different experience and getting the light levels balanced has been... difficult. So yes, the next version of the mod probably is going to be less dark, but only slightly.
Thank you. Not sure why people are trying to use both of these mods at the same time, the description page for Atmospheric Lighting Tweaks clearly says it is incompatible with ILO. I will update my description soon to say the same, hopefully this will help avoid any further confusion.
How do I modify the xml file if I don't know ancient Sumerian? I'm surprised no one is talking about this, it's not a small deal! Is there other tool I also need for changing the code language to a readable one?
Edit: I seriously don't have a clue what to do, never had to modify xml files and this strange symbols aspect is a big complication. This mod is part of the most endorsed collection in Nexus, stating it should be download by Vortex. I would love to download everything in one click like it's intended, instead of micromanaging like any manual mod list. Couldn´t find any helpful tutorial online, this is coding terrain, too messy for me.
Edit 2: Ok, so I used a right click option in vortex mod list named unpack, and the collection was able to be completed. Let's hope it works as intended. Thanks a lot for this mod, I would love if you or the collection author could fix this issue!
Did it work for you? I'm having the same problem and there are almost no tutorials for this and I know almost noting about codding or modifying files besides .ini
My other problem is that I don't have mod collections since I download all my mods 1 by 1 and its dependencies.
I know I'm late to commenting on this, but this should no longer occur thanks to Sarge.
And also, Sarge, I believe your optional file completely works. I haven't received a single bug report regarding Interior Lighting Overhaul since then.
I know I'll just sound like another cog in the machine of all the other users on this site but please find a nice weather/worldspace mod rather than spending your time trying to use an ENB. I used one all throughout my first playthrough back in 2020 and the entire time it was dealing with frustrating bugs and graphical errors/fps slowdown that simply cannot be fixed due to how ENBs are implemented in new vegas.
(I used a mix of the altitude weather mod + some yellow tint remover which made exteriors look great while also not messing with how interiors looked with ILO)
Use New Vegas Reloaded (NVR) instead. It is a modern and directly superior alternative mod to ENBs. ENBs for Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 were quite literally abandoned by the original mod author of ENBs, likely due to how incompatible ENBs are with other mods.
And yes, New Vegas Reloaded is 100% compatible with Interior Lighting Overhaul.
Some light switches work, and others do not, but I believe this is completely intentional. Not every light switch in a post-apocalyptic wasteland will function.
Nevada Skies is not a well optimized mod, though its weather is amazing. Nevada Skies makes an insane amount of edits and Nevada Skies includes its own interior lighting, which will conflict with any interior lighting mod. Nevada Skies is an all-in-one interior and exterior lighting and weather mod.
The following is listed under incompatibilities with Nevada Skies:
I recommend Desert Natural Weathers instead for a weather mod, as it is a modern staple and it only affects exterior lighting and weather; interior cells are untouched. Thus Desert Natural Weathers is perfectly compatible with (and even compliments) Interior Lighting Overhaul.
I am not the best modder out there that is for certain but, unless there is some sort of compatability issue with some other mods i'm running, the world is way too dark. I understand it being nearly pitch black when out in the wasteland with 0 natural light except the moon but even the strip is dark, almost like it's going through a power outage. The lucky 38 has 0 light in front of it and the same for Gammorah. The kings HQ is like walking around in an abandoned building. I'm fairly certain I have no other lighting mods that SHOULD mess with this, this might just be the modders fault! Please let me know.
ILO does not change the lighting of any exterior areas. Do you have any weather mods installed? Edit: After reviewing the King's School I've added it to my list of cells to rework, thanks.

Instructions how to do it, in xEdit or GECK would help too.
