About this image
Modded the game for years, and I always had complaints about the Pipboy. Never really bothered with mods for menus specifically too much. Recently though, I think I finally found a suite of mods that make the Pipboy comfortable to use, while also generally being less of an eyesore. Thought I'd list them somewhere so I don't lose track of them somehow.
- Unofficial DarNified UI Update - Update of ye olde DarnUI. Makes menus sleek and waste less screen space.
- Consistent Pip-boy Icons - Better icons for the Pip-Boy and menus overall.
- The Weapon Mod Menu - Add and remove weapon mods whenever you feel like it.
- yUI - User Ynterface + ySI - Sorting Ycons + Colorful Inventory Ycons - Highly compatible and 99% reliable inventory sorting.
- True Condition - Shows the actual item condition % with the durability bar. The vanilla safe version works with DarNified UI as well.
- High Resolution Screens - Makes things in the Pip-Boy generally look crisper.
- High Res Local Maps - Local map menu will suddenly have details that they never had before.
- A Familiar Friend - Pip-Boy 2500 - Handheld Pip-Boy that looks very nice, has cool retextures, and pairs well with pip-boy glove hiders.
- Handheld Fixes - Use it's replacement plugin for the 2500 mod for fixed implementation. Also the "Newer Thumb Animation" from the updates.
- Yet Another Pipboy Remover - Helps with clipping. In it's INI, set bHandHeldMode to 1 and (if using JohnnyGuitar NVSE) set iRemoveMode to 2.
- Pip boy 2500 - Glowing letters - Glowing Tubes + Glowing Logo is what I like. Feels more lively and extra fancy.
- No scanlines or distort on Pipboy - Keeps things easy to read. Will help the clarity of DarnUI's smaller-than-vanilla fonts as a bonus.
- Faster Pip-Boy Animation - Grab the handheld version if you're using the 2500 like I am. I like the 2x version so I can still see the animation.
- Pointlight Flashlight (and Piplight) - I recommend the pip-light version to avoid fussing with items.
If you use any or all of them, I hope you enjoy them as much as I've been.
