Scholars generally agree on three distinct acts that played out in the Nerevarine’s ascension and the destruction of the devil at Red Mountain. However, a controversial and often disputed author, writing under the alias 'Crown,' injects a fourth act into his retelling of the prophetical events. Unlike some of his other references, the sources he footnotes no longer exist or have not been found, and therefore cannot be verified. The truth behind Crown’s retelling thereby relies entirely on his own reputation. This murky, solitary piece of writing has become appropriately named after its author. Among scholars, we call this alleged sequence of events 'The Crown Act.' - Unknown historian, unknown date, unknown publication.
Introduction
This mod adds a five-part quest arc to the vanilla main quest, set just after your adventure to Tel Fyr. Its purpose is to provide more context to The Rise of the Tribe Unmourned and After the Blight, allow the player to act on Dagoth Ur's invitation, utilize Dagoth Araynys more directly, further challenge the player's self-perception as the Nerevarine, and improve the pacing of the main quest.
These new quests will have you meeting the Herald of House Dagoth, Dagoth Araynys, investigating murders aboard the Imperial Prison Ship, progressing Jiub's story canonically, and encountering a rival would-be Incarnate.
This references many events and characters from The Rise of the Tribe Unmourned and After the Blight—in fact, one quest in this story will not make sense without at least the former mod. The goal is to build a stronger foundation around the people you meet in those mods, which was the primary intent of this mod initially. I highly recommend using them together.
To start the quest: Complete your journey to Tel Fyr in the main quest, then return to Caius Cosades.
There is a walkthrough under 'Articles,' but most of the questline is straightforward, and you likely will not need it.
Compatibility / Recommended
As above, it is a soft requirement that you use both:
- After the Blight (Crown Edition)
- The Rise of the Tribe Unmourned (Crown Edition)
However, you do not technically need these mods to play this one.
I took extra care to ensure compatibility with other mods.
This mod is particularly compatible with:
- Beware the Sixth House
- Beautiful Cities of Morrowind
- Mamaea Awakened (via a patch)
Honestly, this mod should work with almost everything, as it makes only minimal changes.
I highly recommend playing with Beware the Sixth House and/or Mamaea Awakened to make the final boss fight more challenging. However, it is not required. Any balancing mod should work.
