About this mod

Venture deep into Ahrkthumz, an untouched Dwemer ruin north of Caldera. Discover new artifacts and a unique color-based puzzle mechanic.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Changelogs
Requires the latest versions of Tamriel_Data and OAAB_Data.

Ahrkthumz, a Dwemer ruin north of Caldera, has remained untouched since the last days of the Dwemer. Now, an eccentric researcher is on the cusp of unlocking its secrets. Venture deep into the ruins to discover a new Dwemer artifact, using a unique color-based puzzle mechanic to open doors and unlock new areas of the dungeon.

Features...
  • A new Dwemer dungeon north of Caldera, featuring expanded Dwemer tileset pieces from Tamriel_Data and OAAB_Data.
  • A custom color-based puzzle mechanic to open doors. While not particularly mind-bending, hopefully the puzzles are still fun!
  • A unique Dwemer artifact with three possible enchantments that you can switch between, as well as an illustrated book to display.
  • A short quest involving the eccentric Khajiit researcher Ma'Dar and his desire to learn the ruin's secrets.

As this is my first time releasing a dungeon mod like this, I would appreciate any feedback on level design, loot density, difficulty, and pacing. Of course, if you find a bug, please let me know as well!

Installation
Same as any other mod, really. Put the ESP file and resources from 00 Core Files in your Data Files, or use a mod manager.

If you are using the "Better Typography" option from Morrowind Code Patch, replace the ESP file with the one from 01 for Better Typography.

Since this adds a new exterior building for the Dwemer ruin, re-running Distant land generation is recommended.

Compatibility
While technically compatible with Rocky West Gash and its derivatives, the newly added rocks partially cover up the dungeon's entrance, so you will have to squeeze through to get in.

The mod is fully compatible with Caldera Priory and Tamrielic Treasures. (Thanks to christianhulen for testing this!)

Let me know if you discover any other (in)compatibilities.

Credits
Thanks to Darknut, Piratelord, and the rest of the GDR team for Greater Dwemer Ruins Resources.
Thanks to FrummYonda for their Dwemer Miter Headgear, which was used as a basis for the Dwemer Crown artifact.
Thanks to SiberianCrab for RR - Better Books, which was used as a basis for the Colored Wheel artifact book.
Thanks to Smite_Plight for Goggles 2.0, used for Ma'Dar's spiffy goggles.
Thanks to Tchos for their Dwemer Chainlink Corridor tileset, which ended up unused but still inspired much of the dungeon's layout.
Thanks to Zwolol for Correct Meshes, some of which were used as a basis for my custom models.
Thanks to the Tamriel_Data and OAAB_Data teams for their respective resources.

Special thanks to Greatness7 and EJ-12 for helping me implement animation-based state handling on the colored meshes!
