  • Encounters Added by Commonwealth Encounter Pack

A lot, is the short version. But if you're reading this article, you're probably looking for the long version. Now, because there are so many different encounters in this mod, I've broken the list of new content up by encounter type:

Assault Encounters: These encounters typically involve two groups of NPCs. One group is defending the encounter point, while the other group attacks it.
Camp Encounters: These encounters can be found at campsites scattered around the game world, and typically are set up as a group of NPCs temporarily using the campsite.
Checkpoint Encounters: Enabled late in the game when you commit to a specific faction, that faction will occupy and defend the old prewar military checkpoints scattered around the game world. Checkpoint e...

  • Assault Encounters

Assault encounters are very straightforward and generally quite similar to each other. They start when a predetermined point on the map is loaded, and they spawn a group of NPCs to defend that point. They also spawn distant NPCs, who will approach the spawnpoint and attack the defenders. Depending on the NPCs in question, you may be allies with one, both, or neither faction involved.

In terms of the random assault encounters this mod adds, you can find the encounters listed below. Please be aware that minimum levels apply to both the player's current level and the location of the encounter, so high level locations may provide high level encounters to a low level player. For your convenience, the attacking party is listed first for any encounter where one party attacks another. ...

  • Camp Encounters

Camp encounters are one of the more varied types of encounters you will find in Fallout 4. They frequently feature hostile, friendly, and neutral setups and can be more complex due to the nature of how the campsites are built. The one consistent part about them is that they will always happen at one of the campsites scattered around the game.

In terms of the random camp encounters this mod adds, you can find them listed below. Please be aware that minimum levels apply to both the player's current level and the location of the encounter, so high level locations may provide high level encounters to a low level player. I have also provided screenshots of the more visually interesting encounters as a demonstration of what you might find.

  • Checkpoint Encounters

Checkpoint encounters are, overall, rather similar to assault encounters in terms of how they play out. You have one faction defending a specific location on the map, and another attacking them. The primary difference is that checkpoint encounters only become available once you commit to a specific faction during the game's story, and that faction will be the defender for every checkpoint in the Commonwealth. Unlike normal assault encounters, you will receive a misc quest objective to help defend the checkpoint when these encounters begin.

In terms of the random checkpoint encounters this mod adds, you can find the encounters listed below. Each encounter listed below actually has two different variants to it, similar to how most checkpoint encounters made by Bethesda are handle...

  • Chokepoint Encounters

Chokepoint encounters are a variant of scene encounters. They are placed at locations where avoiding them would be tedious or risky, such as bridges and other narrow or contained roads. Thematically, they are mostly centered around the question of whether or not the player should avoid the encounter and take the troublesome detour.

Fun fact! Automatron didn't actually add any encounters to this category, despite it being an obvious target for the type of encounters it did add.

In terms of the random chokepoint encounters this mod adds, you can find them listed below. Please be aware that minimum levels apply to both the player's current level and the location of the encounter, so high level locations may provide high level encounters to a low level player. I have al...

  • Object Encounters

Object encounters are a derivative of scene encounters. Unlike other random encounters in Fallout 4, object encounters are designed to consume their spawn point and make permanent changes to the game world.

Due to their nature as permanent changes, I deliberately set many of these encounters up to be notable and eye-catching, since they can become landmarks in your savegame. Unlike most other encounter types, object encounters do not differentiate between rural and urban areas, so I have listed them under "Commonwealth" rather than "Rural Commonwealth" or "Urban Commonwealth" like you see on my other lists. Please be aware that minimum levels apply to both the player's current level and the location of the encounter, so high level locations may provide high level encounters to ...

  • Scene Encounters

Scene encounters are the most generic and frequent encounter type you will find. They are set up to allow for anything the other encounter types can do, and have the most encounter points available for players to run into.

In terms of the random scene encounters this mod adds, you can find the encounters listed below. Please be aware that minimum levels apply to both the player's current level and the location of the encounter, so high level locations may provide high level encounters to a low level player. I have provided screenshots of the more visually interesting encounters as a demonstration of what you might find.

  • Travel Encounters

Travel encounters are one of the most basic encounter types available in Fallout 4. You walk through an invisible box, and an NPC spawns near you. That NPC then approaches you or other portions of the encounter.

In terms of the random travel encounters this mod adds, you can find them listed below. Please be aware that minimum levels apply to both the player's current level and the location of the encounter, so high level locations may provide high level encounters to a low level player.

  • Treasure Hunt Encounters

Treasure hunt encounters are a rare type of scene encounter with a specific theme. With treasure hunt encounters, the player finds a body with a note on it. Reading the note gives them a miscellaneous quest objective to locate an item mentioned on the note.

In terms of the treasure hunt encounters this mod adds, you can find the encounters listed below. Due to these encounters being something of a nuisance to long term players, I've deliberately scaled the reward to be better than what you would receive from equivalent Bethesda encounters. I have also ensured they will only target locations in the Commonwealth, since that is where you can find the encounters. For your convenience, encounters are named after the reward they provide.
