Please, oh please, forgive my horrendous retexture...
Seems like NPCs are very apt to use the machine, immersive if not annoying, I can switch the machines to be ignored if requested.

Whoops.. V3.1 fixes Locations being lost and all machines reverting to the workshop type, also adjusted spawnrates slightly
Huge Update V3.0 Changelist:
Reworked most Interfaces, new/renamed buttons and labels for a more streamlined experience.
Rebuilt at least 75% of the script to run on Leveled Lists instead of 'Pre-Spawned Items', greatly increasing reliability and allowing a workshop version to be created!
Reworked all prize lists to include more options and offer more variety.
Workshop craftable machines! See the last screenshot for Perk and Build Requirements. 1 Limit per workshop, 5 maximum. They need 24 hours to fill for the first time.
Workshop machines can be Stored or Scrapped and rebuilt with the same items they had before, assuming they didn't respawn or you left the area for too long. I somehow am reliably using Angles as var storage, so if you replace any machines and get crazy costs or counts, delete the machine and don't build another until you leave for a few days, or submit a bug with plenty of detail.
The Terminal is now a dummy object spawned and despawned on the fly by the base machine due to the workshop modifications, if somehow a terminal doesn't show up on your workshop machine, simply pick it up and drop it, or report a bug.
All machines now run on a Respawn Timer set to iHoursToRespawnCell, fixing a couple machines that still wouldn't stock.
Technical Supply worth changed from 7 to 10.
You can now exchange Book and Subway tokens for a 1 to 1 rate.

All those Technical Documents, Blood Samples, or Reactor Coolant burning a hole in your pocket? Turn them into Tech Tokens at your nearest Technical Document Return Machine! Now accepting Book Tokens and Subway Tokens!
Featuring locations in:
  • Diamond City's Science! Center
  • Goodneighbor's Hotel Rexford The Memory Den - Hosted by Doctor Amari
  • Revere Beach Station
  • The Atom Cats Garage
  • Cambridge Police Department
  • Ivan's Bar - The Castle
  • P.A.M's Room - Railroad HQ
  • Any player-owned workshop!

Turn each document into 10 Tech Tokens (help me balance this?) to be collected and turned into many fabulous and rare prizes. Including:
  • Chems (X111 Compound Too)
  • Rare Consumables
  • Rare Ammo
  • Rare Grenades and Mines
  • Weaponry
  • Mini Shipments of Components
And Specialty Deals:
  • Our own Fred Allen from Hotel Rexford runs his Hotel's machine, it is filled with Chems. V2.1 Brings Dr. Amari the machine, hers has more Shipments!
  • Laser weapons from The Castle, Railway Rifles from the Railroad and matching ammo slots!
  • The Atom Cat's Machine contains (sometimes very expensive) Power Armor parts and a Fusion Core slot for trade.
  • Cambridge station carries Fusion Cores and a Power Armor piece.

Mod 'should' be compatible with anything, however it does add new Tech Machines into the associated Cells and Worldspaces above. The worldspace and cells simply have a few more Persistent Objects however the Cell Data was copied over to add the machines to their locations. This may or may not conflict with any Weather or Vis Mods. I have a couple but they have their own issues anyways and I didn't notice anything change, screenshots still look nice, dark and foggy(before I changed the weather)!

Excuse the green glowing, Loot Detector.

Might be super aggressive on your save file should you remove it, as always, I recommend having a backup save.
Safe to remove, machines will simply stop existing.
However, if you want add it again I can't guarantee it will function properly ever again.

TL:DR How Did I Do It/Compatibility: Hijacked Book Return Machine, made custom everything, only modified worldspace and Cells to place Machines.
  • I Hijacked the Book Return Machine and it's scripts and terminal entries. Stripped out what I didn't need and changed the rest.
  • Attached all references to custom ones.
  • Added a special ammo pack and script to disperse it
  • Added a new token for this machine exclusively (uses the same model I can't model or texture)
  • Added special mini shipments.
  • Made some special leveled lists (for whatever reason I can't set quantity unless I do manual entries but I wanted a random cycling shop)FixedV2.0
  • Desecrated the old material with a poorly made Black Spray Painted version.
  • Linked everything to a custom hidden quest for text display tracking.

Bug I'm Working on now: Machine's never change items once they pick them, they might restock on the picked items however. Worse than expected hiding mod.
(V1.0)Bug was related to the original way the Book Machine handled the prizes, storing them indefinitely as reference. The machine would also never update it's item entries.
Technically speaking, the Book Return Machine is bugged, it will never change items once the Prize list loads nor will it display any new Prizes.

(V1.0->2.0)This took WAAAAAaaaay. too long to fix I hope it's bug free and if you like the mod, please come back and let me know what you think; especially balancing.

Sorry this took so long for the few who got ahold of V1.0 before I could fix it.
Downloading the V2.0 or newer update should fix any of the old machines with no problem, simply visit the machine to apply the changes, if you're at a machine when you load it will update when the cell reloads.
