About this mod

A clean DEF_UI preset designed with aesthetics and accessibility in mind. Throw out the vanilla UI and your other presets - you won't want to go back to either after using this one. Does NOT support ultrawide resolutions.

Begone, Clutter.

Are you sick of that poor excuse of a HUD that Bethesda implemented? Are your eyes bleeding from just how bad it is? Then look no further than Aesthetic UI - a DEF_UI preset designed to provide a clean aesthetic that is pleasing on the eye, while still retaining all of the vital information you'll need while playing the game.

All HUD elements have been downscaled significantly and moved closer to the edges of the display, and information that is normally scattered has been compounded together with regard to relevance; all for the purpose of streamlining the UI and reducing the number of different places you need to look at any one time. Best of all, Aesthetic UI is fully compatible with mods that add new UI elements, such as Sim Settlements 2 & Gas Masks of the Wasteland, and won't get in the way of either.

Note: This preset does NOT support ultrawide resolutions. There's little I can do about that without getting an ultrawide monitor myself.

How To Install
1) Download and Install DEF_UI (as well as HUDFramework and it's patch, should you want to use them alongside Aesthetic UI).
2) Download this mod via NMM or your preferred mod manager and install it through there.
3) If installing manually, extract the contents of the .rar into your root Fallout 4 folder (where the .exe is)

Recommended Mods
There are a great many mods out there that will compliment this HUD preset perfectly,
of which I also personally use alongside it for maximum effect.

- Mod Configuration Menu by reg2kNeanka & shadowslasher410.
- HUD Plus Plus by Kassent (turn off "item briefs" in the MCM).
- FallUI, FallUI Workbench and the associated custom sorting mod for both by m8r98a4f2
- DEF_UI Iconlibs Rescaled & Fixed by Phlunder (to improve DEF_UI's built-in tag icons).
- Extended Dialogue Interface by reg2k & Neanka (a must have, in my opinion)

- Better Console by Kassent
- Clock Widget by Kassent

Note that some of these changes only apply to the older versions of this HUD, as 3.0 and onwards does not have a crosshair or stealth indicator at all.

- The RADS METER has been reduced to just it's icon. You'll still know when you're taking rads, but you'll need to check your Geiger counter to see exactly how many.

- The COMPASS has been moved to the bottom right of the HUD to make it less "in your face" and reduce the amount of clutter in the center of the screen.

- The HP BAR, AP BAR, SURVIVAL BAR, AMMO COUNTER, GRENADE COUNTER, FLASHLIGHT ICON & FATIGUE NOTIFICATION have all been moved to the bottom left of the screen and made significantly more compact, ensuring this information is easy to access when it's needed.

- The HP, AP & CRIT bars have had their text removed. They took up unnecessary space, and you really don't need it if you're already familiar with the game's UI.

- The CRITICAL METER has been moved to an area above the STEALTH INDICATOR.

- The REGION message box that displays the name of the area you've entered has been placed above the HP bar.

- The RESTED icon has been downscaled and moved to the top-right section of the UI, while the DAMAGED LIMB icon has been placed next to the compass for ease of reference.

- The CROSSHAIR has been changed to a permanent dot. Why Bethesda opted to take the term literally, we'll never know.
