If considering this mod, please look into this mod as an alternative and more proper fix. Not tested personally, I don't have much time for modding anymore unfortunately. But it has a very large amount of downloads and endorsements so it looks legit. When I first uploaded this workaround, I mostly hoped it would bring some attention to the issue so somebody with more knowledge would be able to fix it properly. Now I just need somebody to fix the energy damage problems and I might actually play this game again.

Version 3.0 adds missing records and makes the mod only lower sprint speed, not run speed.

Damn, was really hoping this would work. Definitely still there :(. I swear I thought I had a fix for this last time I played but I just can't find it :/.

Have you tried installing Sprint Stuttering Fix before? I've been using it for a little over a month and have had a very smooth experience.

Would this mod be compatible with Third-Person Movement Speed Fix? Thank you for your time!

It should be, but I believe it would make that mod somewhat redundant. If you're interested in alternatives to this mod, I'd recommend Sprint Stuttering Fix as something to consider.

Just speaking from my experience here and sharing my opinion; I've never had the issue that this mod claims to fix. Yes, for those who do experience the issue, it looks to be a good solution but I do not believe the stutter to be an engine issue. I believe it to most likely be a low framerate issue or in other words running FO4 on a mid to low end PC. I've been running FO4 on my current PC since 2017 which has an i7 7700K, GTX 1080 Ti and 32GB of DDR4 and I've simply never encountered stuttering when sprinting. For some more background, I use CWSS which if you go to use one of the toilets, you will obtain a 15% speed increase for both running and sprinting, and despite this fairly large increase, my game runs perfectly smooth, especially if I'm in areas where I can go above 60 FPS (I have a cap set a 120 FPS). One of my friends recently upgraded his PC and he now has a Ryzen 7 3800X, RTX 2080 Ti, and 32GB of DDR4 and from what we've discussed, he hasn't experienced any stuttering either.

Either way, mods like this are great for people having these kinds of issues but I'm just throwing the idea out there that this most likely not an engine issue, but a PC related issue more than anything else.

I still can't say for certain what causes it, but after lots of testing I have come to the conclusion that those who don't have it simply do not notice it, considering it happens on consoles as well. I notice it in many pc gameplay videos when I look for it, but often the lower frame rate and compression makes it harder to spot. Really high quality 60fps videos are easy to spot it, and on my current machine I adjust settings so in no area do I ever drop below 60. I had played around with gysnc, higher framerates, etc, and never found anything to have an impact on it.

Technically speaking I think it's a lack of camera lerping when traveling over bumps at higher speeds than it is a "stutter" in the frame rate or vsync issue that the word implies, especially since it happens regardless of framerate or other display/graphical settings. Technically I am wrong to call it a stutter, which probably causes a lot of the confusion - but in actual gameplay it does lack a certain smoothness that the game is capable of. Stutter is just the best word I can think of to describe it.

Given the questionable way this game's physics and animations are handled, I figured the camera bump issues were likely something related to that - something to do with how physics effect the camera in different scenarios. That is a complete guess though, and it could totally be something else unrelated, like maybe a standalone camera issue that actually has nothing to do with other physics or animations. Either way, I call it an engine issue because as far as I can tell there isn't a way to edit parameters that change this within the creation kit.

With that being said, there are tons of other issues with this game that definitely are related to frame rate, vsync, pc specs, etc. Many people in the comments here confuse the two. If only people who noticed the issue used the mod, it would not have nearly as many downloads lol. Even in the video in the description I think there are more than 1 cause of stutter - the camera issues and probably a performance issue. I've found that one definitely exaggerates the other, especially when they occasionally happen at the same time.

So to your findings I say that it is absolutely possible that some pc's don't have the issue, but I still think it's unlikely because I haven't found an exception yet. It is more likely that some perceive the very rigid camera movement as stutter, and for those people this is a workaround. But for most people, the camera is smooth enough and no illusion of motion is broken. So for somebody like you who clearly knows about pc's, you are probably thinking the technical term of stutter in regard to frame rate, frame time, etc so that is what you are looking for. When it's really more of an animation or camera path issue that most won't notice.

I can confidently say it's not a framerate issue. It's the engine.

Bretton totally nailed it. This is not a framerate issue, I suspect it's an issue with the way the game camera deals with collision.

Recently, I discovered and installed Sprint Stuttering Fix by Antonix35. According to him, this issue was with the 500 "speed limit" in the game's memory triggering some Vertibird code at speeds at and above 500. He removed that completely which seems to have fixed the issue, even at higher movement speeds. I can attest to this as I installed the mod and did notice a difference for the first time actually.

That's not to say Bretton's work here isn't still useful though. I'd use this mod if you're fine with the vanilla sprint speed, I'll be it a bit slower. Otherwise, I would recommend checking out Anton's mod.

Prayers answered.  Script extender fix is available and it seems to be working great.

One day. I pray. Some of the script extender geniuses working over on New Vegas hop over here and finally kill this issue.

Yes, but I don't know if an up to date patch currently exists. If I get some time I will look into it.

I tested this, the other mod and no mod for it way longer than I'd like to admit.... lol I dont think I seen any improvement. Maybe Im too fixated on this xP I hate that juicehead brought it too my attention, I probably would have never really cared all that much. Now its driving me mad

It definitely isn't perfect, but it does reduce the jerky camera movements a decent amount. It's possible you may have other stutter issues - the game certainly has a lot of problems. Have you experimented with the fps clamp setting at all? In my experience, without fixing the other stutter problems it was impossible to even tell if this mod was working.

Also, do you mind linking me to where juicehead talked about the issue? I've be interest to see what he had to say about it.

Hey there, would you please test version 3.0? There were records missing that made the mod not function in certain situations, and if you were testing under those conditions then you would not have noticed a change.
