[22.11.2023] Note for the recent 1.2.1b version: Reuploaded the two optional "No FWE Weapons" and "No FWE Armor" files. There was a mistaka in the master files for those plugins. Now it's fixed. Only needed if using "UUFO3P - FWE Compatibility Patch [No FWE Uniques - Armor].esp" and/or "UUFO3P - FWE Compatibility Patch [No FWE Uniques - Weapons].esp".

If after the update you still encounter some NPC with the old FWE armor (it only afects the Outcasts, the BoS and the Enclave (and if starting a new game you shouldn't have found any of them yet), you can fix by:
Open the console
Select the NPC
Type "resurrect" without quotations.
This will reset the NPC and it will use the default armor. This will only affect cells you have previously visited. Cells not visited or NPCs you have never found should be OK.

INTRODUCTION
 
This is an updated version of the compatibility patch between FWE and the latest version of the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch, made from scratch (currently v3.3.6).
 
Back in the day with the old UUFO3P version 2.3.2 there was an "official" compatibility patch for FWE. Since then the Unofficial Patch has changed a lot and it made that patch obsolete, so I decided to create my own patch.
 
REQUIREMENTS
 
All the official DLC [GOTY edition or Base game + the 5 DLC]
FWE version 6.03 (latest released version)
Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch version 3.3.6 [Not yet adapted to the latest 3.4.8.1 Version !!!]
Unofficial Fallout 3 ESM Patcher version 1.3 [Not Strictly required but I based my patch according to the changes [to NPCs, etc...) made by this mod].

It is recommended (but not required) to clean all FWE plugins (except FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp, that doesn't require cleaning). The patch will work with or without the cleaned plugins.

INSTALLATION
 
This sections has suffered the biggest change since the initial release of the patch. I have ditched the FOMOD (as it has been reported to cause some problems to some users) and I have separated the plugins between the Main One and the Optional Plugins that disable the new added weapons and armor and the modified unique weapons added by FWE.

It's recommended to use a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex to install the mod.

The available plugins are:

UUFO3P - FWE Compatibility Patch.esp [REQUIRED]: Main Patch.
UUFO3P - FWE Compatibility Patch [No FWE Uniques - Weapons].esp [OPTIONAL]: This addon disables all FWE added weapons from the game and restores the unique models from the Unique Weapons back to their vanilla models. This is Optional as this is a matter of personal taste. I don't like them, maybe you do.
UUFO3P - FWE Compatibility Patch [No FWE Uniques - Armor].esp [OPTIONAL]: Same but for the Armor.
UUFO3P - FWE Compatibility Patch [Extra].esp [OPTIONAL]: Plugin that contains some extra changes I made, that doesn't fit a pure compatibility patch but can be of interest to some people.

Changes added by the UUFO3P - FWE Compatibility Patch [Extra].esp [BEWARE IT CONTAINS SOME MINOR SPOILERS]:

  • Replaced a Chinese Assault Rifle inside the Outcast Outpost (Operation Anchorage) with the Chinese Dragoon Assault Rifle counterpart. It makes more sense to find a Dragoon variant, rather than the regular Chinese one, as it is a sealed Pre-War Bunker.
  • When you wake up in the Citadel, after the Purifier mission, all your stuff will be stored in a Locker next to your bed. It doesn't make sense you fall into a 2-week coma wearing your armor / power armor.
  • Restored the Explosion for the Gauss Slug. This is an extra as it's been reported that enabling this can mess the damage dealt by the Gauss Rifle in VATS. I don't use VATS and I am not sure if this affects the Bullet Time so I provide this as an extra.

Install the mod and delete or disable (hide in MO2) the [Optional] plugins that you don't want to use.

Note: If you want to use the Optional files but like any of the Weapons and Armor added by FWE it can easily be tweaked with xEdit. I won't provide custom versions but can guide you with the xEdit process.

KNOWN ISSUES OR BUGS

None that I’m aware of. Please if you find an issue or bug report to me so I may try to fix it.

The only issue I've found, related to FWE and not this patch, is that the “Rad-X taken” and “Radaway taken” statistics don’t work. FWE somehow disables it and I was unable to find the script or record that changes it. If anyone knows it, please tell me so I can incorporate the fix into my patch.

NOTES

If using the Optional "No FWE Weapon / Armor" all disabled or not used Weapons and Armor have been labeled (Not Used) or (Disabled). I'm sure I've wipe them out entirely of the game but if you find any weapon and armor with those labels, please let me know.

I'm sure I've tweaked all NPCs and leveled lists appropriately, but if you find some NPC with a weapon and no ammo, with duplicate items (weapon, armor), etc... let me know. 

FUTURE PLANS

I'm currently working on making patches for the other optional FWE plugins (Alternate Travel and Followers Enhanced). No ETA.
Also I'm working on compatibility patches for Goodies and Project Beauty. No ETA.

RECOMMENDED MODS

This is a list of mods I recommend using alongside FWE:

Iron Sights Plus: Compatible out of the box. Load this mod AFTER Iron Sights Plus. Be aware that only works with the Vanilla Weapons, not the ones added by FWE nor the unique models.
Project Beauty: Needs a compatibility patch. I'm working on making one [No ETA].
Goodies: Needs a compatibility patch. I'm working on making one [No ETA].
EXE - Effects teXtures Enhanced similar to EVE, this is an ESPless mod that improves (a lot) the effects, explosions, fire... of the game.

VERSION HISTORY
