    Recommended companion mods:
Native Settings for easier settings management within a common settings menu.
Native Settings UI Side Menu Add-onfor easier navigation within Native Settings UI.

    v3.1.5:

Adds a redscript helper addressing the Shards list issue described below. With the helper, there is no need to switch the Welcome Shard off or restart the game application to apply changes. Requires redscript to support it. Without the redscript, the mod behaves as in v3.1.4 in game versions 2.1+
    v3.1.4:
    Important bug workaround:
Collecting shards while playing Phantom Liberty quests at the Cynosure site may cause the shard inventory to display a message saying the inventory is empty instead of showing the expected shard list. This issue is caused by the Welcome shard implementation in this mod. To work around it, please disable the Welcome shard in the mod's settings and restart the application to fully apply the changes. I know this is far from convenient and hardly a sophisticated approach, but it's the safest way to handle the issue for now until I develop a real solution.

How to make police attack your enemies:

To call the police to attack an enemy, you need to tag the enemy as a target and perform an Emergency Call, as shown here.
To tag an enemy, you should click the middle mouse button when pointing at it in scanning mode to make it marked with small horizontal arrows above its head; this is standard game target tagging functionality.
The target must be a valid enemy character (e.g., an NPC that you can engage in combat and is neither a police officer, a civilian, nor a quest-important character).

If these conditions are not met, the Emergency Call assumes that you're calling the police to cover up your crime.
If no crime is recorded (police are not chasing you, no bounty stars are shown next to the Minimap),
it will display a message stating that there is no bounty on your head or that you are protected by the NCPD Protection system or a similar one, depending on your subscription state and activity.

    v3.1.2

    What's new:

    - Implemented a new method for creating and validating language files to prevent overwriting existing custom translations during each mod update installation.
    - Added CET mod window title and Native Settings UI mod name strings to JSON files to allow safe translations of these strings.
    - Fixed a bug that prevented translated text to replace default English text in the CET Bindings window.
    - Improved notifications performance.
    - Addressed some issues related to despawning police units.

    Note for Translators:

    - The new language files handling method requires keeping file identifiers unchanged to prevent automatic overwriting with default English text.
More information in the "1) File Naming, Creation and Identification" point in the ...\NPCD_Hotline\game_base_relic\language\Readme.txt file.

    - There are two new text lines in JSON files:
"cetWindowName": "NCPD Hotline Mod Window" - this text is shown in the mod's CET window title bar.
"modDisplayName": "NCPD Hotline" -  this text is displayed in the Native Settings UI as the mod name (in the top bar where you select mods).
Feel free to adjust them to your needs.

Please refer to the ...\NPCD_Hotline\game_base_relic\language\template_lang_en_text.json file to find and add these two lines to your translated text.

    v3.1.0

    What's new:

    - Now, you can call for a backup team to attack your enemies outside the NCPD operations area.
While the NCPD refuses to go beyond their designated zones, the Afterlife Mercenaries may intercept the communication and offer assistance.
Please keep in mind that no one is going to help you in Dogtown anyway and the Spaceport is also not the place where you could expect any help.
Additionally, Mercs will ignore you if your reputation is below Street Cred level 30.

    - Larger backup teams on larger opponent groups, stronger and more skilled backup teams.
    - Better backup team arrival management.

The new feature and improvements are only available in the game v2.

Note for Translators and Users of Translated Text:

The new mod version introduces new text lines to support additional features and overwrites existing files during installation.
If you choose to replace these files with your translations, please note that they might not include the new text if not updated.
In such a case, the mod will use template strings and log the missing text key names.
For detailed translation guidelines, refer to the ...\NPCD_Hotline\game_base_relic\language\Readme.txt file.

    Hi All,

thank you for your supportive comments and endorsements.
I will look into the new game code to bring back the Police backup support call however I cannot promise on a date.
First it requires time. Secondly, there is a couple of code blockers in the new game version so it needs new research on how to overcome the new obstacles.

Again, thank you all very much.

How can I make it so that the prevention system doesn't block it (BadGuys Affinity and BountyHunter because I like them in this mod), because I've had stopNCPD for a long time and I like it better

      What does it mean?
The Prevention System does not block anything.
If you used Stop NCPD attacks mod, the protection subscription works the same as the old Automode.
If you don't want to use it, then just switch it off (either in mod settings, or in the mod menu, or though a key bind).

I was just thinking about when I would sign up for the prevention protect system so that the heat level wouldn't be blocked. (sorry my enghlis) Is it possible to make it not disable the heat?

The automatic protection (subscription to the protection system) only cancels unjustified alerts (e.g., when you fire a weapon into the air or get into a fight with gang members near police officers), as shown here.
It does not cancel other cases (e.g. when you harm a civilian or either worse: the police).

If you don't want this feature, simply turn it off (unsubscribe).
Otherwise, you can't have your cookie and eat it too - you're either protected, or you're not
This works exactly the same as in the old Stop NCPD Attacks mod.

It didn't work for me... It's not marking the NPC, and only the dialogue to call reinforcements works, but nothing happens :(

This mod is not compatible with the NCPD prevention police enhancement mod FUGITIVE edition, for anyone who has been bothered by the same issue as me.

No - if there are some issues when using my mod with the other one, it means that the other mod breaks the game design compatibility and/or violates shared resources usage rules.
Please refer to the Compatibility Info in the Description.

Anyway to remove the cost to call in the cops to help with fighting? Wanna roleplay as an NCPD officer and the whole paying them part feels odd.

Or even just a way to turn off the text messages would be fine too.

The whole game is designed around the idea that the Player is a mercenary.
This includes the game's Police system, which tolerates the Player's existence at best.
In case of wrongdoing, the game's Police system sets them to pursue and kill the Player.
There is no other option in the built-in Police system.
This mod is built on top of the Police system and adjusted to follow its behavior.

I understand that, that's why I was wondering if you could turn off the messages that you get from the police after calling them in. I know if I shoot a cop or what not they'll attack me, but I can roleplay that stuff fine, but seeing the messages makes it difficult. I know this is an odd thing but it's just what's fun currently lol.

The automatic payment and notification system in this mod follows the game’s design, and they are key components that work with other parts of the mod’s code.
You cannot disable them without reworking the mod.
However, you can change the text shown in notifications by creating or editing your custom translation.
Please visit your "...\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks\mods\NPCD_Hotline\game_base_relic\language" folder to learn more about custom translations.

Hi anygoodname, thank you for the mod.

I have a question if you don't mind. You mentioned about "shared resource usage rules." Do you mind to elaborate this a little bit more? And where can I find more about this rule?

I'm making a Redscript mod that modifies PreventionSystem and want to ensure compatibility with your mod.

    Thank you. :)

      Thank you very much.
Well, this is something every programmer should know (which, unfortunately, is not always the case).
In a nutshell, it's about using shared resources in a way that neither blocks others from using them nor changes them in a way that negatively affects those who rely on the resource - whether it's a file, a database entry, a piece of code or else.
Kind of like tableware in a canteen - everyone should use it in a way that doesn’t affect others when they reuse it.

Not sure why, but whenever i call for help, as described in the description etc, i get messages saying pretty much "you call us then bail?!" every single time, even if i literally am starting to engage the enemies before the message comes in. Any idea what i might be doing wrong or misunderstanding?

If you move too far away from the police team in action, it will be counted as abandonment.
Alternatively, some other mod affects this one.

that is quite odd. I generally get that message as soon as two seconds after requesting the backup, if not even shorter... no matter if i move at all or not. and no matter if i actively engage the enemy or not.

I don't THINK i have a mod that should affect this...
