"Do it Yourself - Cosmopolitan Night City" is now available ! This is not a plug&play mod, but rather a tool/software for create your own "Cosmopolitan Night City"!
The software will allow you to: - choose which characters switch languages and which do not, while still enjoying all the advanced features like the kiroshi translation effect, correct dialogue lenght and correct gendering. - specify exactly which audio localization and subtitle language you need, while ignoring the others, making the mod lighter - fully integrate "Polyglot V" or "Change V's native language" or "Silent V" or "Universal AI V Voice Swap Compatibility" without the need for a compatibility patch - At the end of the process, the software will provide you with a ready-made "source" folder; all you’ll need to do is convert the raw files and pack them using Wolvenkit. After that, it will be ready for use.
It's designed to be accessible to everyone and can be completed in just a few minutes! A tutorial is available on the modpage.
Truly an outstanding mod. I didn't like Judy until I heard her speak in Spanish. I find her quiet unlikeable in English. The writers and voice actress did wonderful jobs creating Judy in Spanish. Your mod should be an in-game setting.
I was loving this mod until I spoke to El Capitan. Hoo boy, that was rough on the ear drums. I love the life it brings to Night City and the immersion is off the charts, even if some of the voices are kinda meh (not at all the fault of this mod). Any chance we could get a version of this that doesn't affect Fixers?
If not, no problem. Still endorsed since this is top notch!
Both "CNC Enhanced" and "CNC Lite" include the fixers. But you can create a 100% custom CNC setup using "DIY-CNC". Read the second sticky post for more informations and link.
Sorry, I'm somewhat new to modding and it's entirely possible I'm just not finding it but is there any file for changing the Us Cracks to speak japanese? I've searched the most updated multilingual NPC's and the older files too.
Sorry, I've decided to remove this option, Japanese Us crack, from my mod. There was an old version in old files before, but I decided to remove it... because it was definitely out of dated and causing crash.
In the near future I won't offer this option again, it's not planned, i have too muche thing to do for more add more characters. But later, I'll probably open a new modpage for request.
This is saddening to me, as that was the only reason I was looking into these mods. The other voices didn't make a ton of sense to me. Viktor Vektor grew up and boxed in Night City, why would he speak German? Evelyn Parker also grew up in night city and stylizes herself like a modern Marilyn Monroe, why would she speak french? Yet the Japanese American trio Us Cracks; who live their lives in Japan, are popular in Japan, and have voice actors in English that IMO don't compare well to other recorded dialogue; we can't have them speak Japanese primarily.
Apologies for the salt, it's mostly frustration on my part, and I don't expect extra work because of my complaining. I'm glad you went through the trouble to make a mod like this honestly.
I'll try and find another method. I saw someone did continue the Japanese for Us Cracks in relation to this mod, maybe I can make it work with DIY. That mod is a feat of awesomeness I'll admit. Even if I can't get it working for Us Cracks I'm very glad you went to the effort to make something customizable. I can't imagine that was easy.
The language choices in this mod are my own. They’re based on a variety of factors — not just lore. People always think they have the “perfectly logical” reason why this or that character should speak a certain language… but it’s almost never that simple and that kind of logic varies wildly from one person to the next. In fact, it’s literally impossible to satisfy everyone. There are two editions of the mod — Lite and Enhanced — to already give players some flexibility.
Plus, there are extensions available for adding characters (Compatible with CNC as long as the NPC isn't already modified by the edition of CNC you're using). And, you can also make requests to BONeill.
And now, with the DIY-CNC tool, anyone can build their own custom version of Cosmopolitan Night City without needing to know anything about modding (thanks to the tutorial).
Yes, you can absolutely use the "customable edition" — it's a bit 'less advanced' than the "Enhanced" or "Lite" editions, but it gives you full control over who gets affected, and it's easy and quick.
You could also consider DIY-CNC. It’s not plug-and-play, there are a few steps to set it up, but there’s a detailed tutorial included (text and video). With it, you’ll get a fully customizable Cosmopolitan Night City experience, plus the advanced features (kiroshi translation effect, correct gendering, correct dialogue lenght, etc). The experience is on a whole other level compared to the customable edition in my opinion!
cant wait for diy. some of these are a little off putting like regina jones speaking chinese. her name is so americanized i have to assume she is american and a native english speaker
The new DIY edition should be online within a week. You'll need to perform two simple tasks with WolvenKit to finalize your own version of CNC, so this is a good opportunity to download the software now if you haven't already.
lmao nice yeah i was watching your yt vid on the voice comparisons when i saw the diy edition vid like 11min after it was uploaded but the link led to a page saying you havent published tthe mod yet thank you for your hard work
Compatibility patch -CNC Enhanced-CVL-Polyglot V because of him my V is just silent, when I deleted him I of course couldn't speak to Goro in Japanese, but at least she started speaking
Make sure you have the latest versions of:###Compatibility_Patch-CNCEnhanced_PolyglotV.archive (v2.5enhanced) ##Cosmopolitan_Night_City-Enhanced.archive (v2.5enhanced)#PolyglotV_VAJP-Japanese.archive (v2.3) in the folder : Cyberpunk2077/archive/pc/mod
I downloaded and updated ALL the mods and additional files that are needed for the polyglot and NPC, my V is still stupidly silent when others speak calmly, my voice acting is English, I did not install any other mods to change her voice, only AI
When I test the mod on my side in-game, Polyglot V works perfectly on its own as expected, and also works very well with Cosmopolitan Night City Enhanced + the proper compatibility patch. I think there might be an installation issue. You may have installed several patches at the same time, selected the wrong patch in the FOMOD, or maybe you have the patch but not polyglotV file (you have polyglot V AND the patch, is it ?), or maybe you have rename the files, idk, ... or maybe you have an incompatible mod — I'm not sure...
Since your message on the "Polyglot V" page and on the "Cosmopolitan Night City" page, I re-tested everything in-game.
With english localization, like you. I tested Polyglot V AIUS + CNC Enhanced + the proper compatibility patch — it works: V speaks English when needed, V speaks Japanese when needed, and NPCs speak their new languages... I did the same with Polyglot V VAJP + CNC Enhanced + the proper compatibility patch, and it also works normally. I tested with both a male V and a female V, and I tested in both the base game and in Phantom Liberty, it still works normally. I even re-tested the FOMOD, and it works too. There are no bugs.

Jessica Angeles is indeed the voice actress for Judy in the Spanish localization — and yeah, she does an amazing job!

Seems its older than enhanced and lite but i would probably prefer selecting who gets changed.
