Is it possible to disable the translation effect for other languages like Japanese but still have the translation effect play for other languages?
I also noticed that the monk siblings speak Japanese but if using Polyglot V AIUS, V still speaks English to them. (Not sure whether to mention that here or on the Polyglot V page.)
Yeah, as explained on the Polyglot V page (and mentioned again here), V won’t speak Japanese with all the NPCs speaking Japanese. The mod is still a work in progress (and has been for way too long, sadly — but I do hope to finish it properly one day). Right now, it’s not possible to disable the Kiroshi translation effect for a specific language, but that’s definitely an interesting idea. I’ll look into creating a plugin that lets users turn off the Kiroshi effect for one or more selected languages. I think it’s doable — I can’t say when, but I’ll try to work on it!
What settings do you use for pronoun swaps (F voice, M gender)? The transV plugin in the optional files only works on CVL extensions, so I tried setting it up with the English V CVL extension, but when CNC-DIY.exe gets to the CVL file the choice to use it is grayed out, because the game is set to English already... it says "Not selectable (identical audio language)". I tried things a few different ways but could never get it to work.
edit: found a working compromise by just using CVL Spanish extension with transV plugin and having my V speak Spanish, but let me know if this gets updated to accept CVL extensions even when the languages are identical
Luckily, there’s a simple workaround. It’ll make the setup a bit longer, but it should let DIY-CNC work properly with all CVL extensions anytimes.
Just keep using the plugin like you already have. Then, in DIY-CNC, when you’re setting the game’s audio language, make sure to select ALL instead of English — it’s the very first option in the list. You don’t need to change anything for the subtitles, just the voice language needs to be set to ALL.
hey idk what the hell i did wrong but my shits fucked up i went to do a gig and heard Dino speaking english, so i deleted everything and did a fresh install of the mod and now fuckin everyone speaks english, none of the selections i make during installation actually end up doing anything i followed the guide to a T several times and now nothing seems to be working any advice?
EDIT: NEVERMIND I FOUND THE CULPRIT i wanted to change V's native language (i have 6 different languages for 6 different characters) so i went to your "Change V's Native Language" mod and turns out that *completely* breaks this customizable version of CNC! i don't want to make 6 different versions of this file for each language though, how should i go about this?
You'll need to make a DIY-CNC mod based on the CVL extension you want to use. It's a hassle, but it's the "best" way.
Alternatively, you can make your DIY-CNC without any CVL extension at all, and use the "Change V's native language" mods you want — but be careful, not the "main files" versions, which as you've seen aren't compatible with DIY-CNC. Instead, use the versions found in the "miscellaneous files"; you won't get advanced features like the Kiroshi tag on V's dialogue, but it will work with DIY-CNC.
The video provided was informative and made installing easy. I had one small issue with the ".programfiles" folder being named "files" by default. Renaming allowed me to proceed with the rest of the steps. Without renaming, WolvenKit would freeze as soon as I select the project. Very cool mod. Very good instructions.
Thank you soooooooooooo much for this! Word cannot express how grateful I am! Used to use similar mods back before 2.0 but after Phantom Liberty they no longer worked and I had lost all hopes until this!
And the DIY procedure was much easier and faster than I had expected (even on my rather weak Ryzen 4300G). So do not be afraid to make your own version people!
I dont have the option to convert raw file from JSON. I can do that for the file (base) directly under the raw file. Should I convert the base file instead?
Kinda fixed it by using the wolvenkit from nexus and not the one from github
This is the answer to my prayers. The only complaint I had with the first mod is that some of the English language voice actors were just too good to replace, even with the lite version. That was a serious enough issue for me to uninstall it, and I've been missing it ever since.
