Elven Boots and Bracers

Features

This mod adds matching boots and bracers for the Elven Chain armor with visuals for all races/body types. Matches the full set seen here.

Ever been bothered by how the Elven Chain armor isn't a set? Annoyed by how no boots nor bracers seem to match it? Well, you're in luck! Turns out there were meshes and textures for a matching set of boots and bracers all along, hidden away in the game's files, unused and abandoned. I've dusted them off, put on a fresh coat of polish, and made them available for any Elven Chain aficionados.

Gear
Two pieces of gear are included:
  • Elven Boots
  • Elven Bracers

Stats
The boots have the stats of the Disintegrating Night Walkers with some elven flavor, and the bracers have the stats of the Gloves of Dexterity.

Customizing the Stats Yourself: If you would like completely different stats or don't want to count on me changing something, you can unpack the mod, edit the Armor.txt, then pack the mod and use that edited .pak file for your personal use.

Acquiring the Gear
Available in the tutorial chest and at the Rivington General, sold by Exxvikyap. This is where the Elven Chain is also sold. If you don't wish to buy the items, use Tutorial Chest Summoning by wesslen to summon the chest and acquire them.

There's also a version that adds the Elven Chain to the tutorial chest as well, for anyone wishing to acquire the full set at once.

And a version where it's only available at the Rivington General alongside the Elven Chain.

To Do
  • Custom icons
  • Add images of the gear on all races/body types (sorry, I made this in a day and simply got lazy with the pics)

Known Issues
  • When using Dye Remover on modded items, it might not appear to work. Unequip and re-equip the armor piece afterwards and it should return to its original color.

Compatibility
Potentially incompatible with mods that change the vanilla bodies. This mod was made using vanilla assets, and edited bodies might clip through the gear.

Works with vanilla dyes and modded dyes.

Everything else should be compatible as far as I know. I'll update this section if incompatibilities come up. If any patches break anything, I'll make a sticky post in the comments and let you know the mod's status there, along with any other announcements about the mod.

Installation
I recommend the BG3 Mod Manager, but Vortex should work fine as well. Since I don't use it, I won't be providing instructions on how to use it.

  • Download the file using the Manual Download button and save to wherever you like.
  • Start BG3MM.
  • Drag and drop the .zip file onto the left hand side of the window. BG3MM will automatically import it and place it in the Mods folder.
  • Adjust your load order by dragging and dropping mods. It shouldn't matter much where this mod is in the order, as it isn't dependent on any other mod.
  • Save your load order by clicking the save button in the top row beside the Mod Order label, or by going to the upper left hand side of the window and clicking File, then Save Order.
  • Export your order to the game by clicking the icon next to the Export label, or by going to the upper left hand side of the window and clicking File, then Export Order.
  • Launch the game and enjoy!

A second method is explained here at the BG3 Wiki, but I find the one explained above easier and faster.
