Description

Longbows are really bad implemented into the game. Thematically, they should be the strongest ranged weapons but they are outclassed by heavy and hand crossbows.

My elven longbows add new rules that try to put them on pair, or ideally, in a little better place than crossbows. As always feedback is wellcome so let me known if you think they are too strong (or they still feels weak compared to crossbows).

There's both, normal versions that can be purchased from traders and special versions that can be found around the world.

Note: Only this mod added longbows are affected by this rules. Base game longbows are untouched.

General Characteristics:

-Range is 24m for all mod longbows (6m more than base game).

-Keen Eye: Just like Keen Attack in base game, it doubles proficiency bonus on range attacks rolls, as long as you don't have disadvantage.

-Superior Brace: Just like base game Brace, but can be use once per turn.

-Deadly Shot: Use action and bonus action to shoot with advantage and deals bonus damage equal to proficiency bonus. Can't be use with disadvantage.

Note: This attack use the attack animation and proyectile trayectorie (arrow fly in straigh line) of the range sneak attack. Because it looks better suited for the "dead shot" concept and makes more difficult to aim when there's something betwen archer and target wich feels thematic.

Location

The basic models can be bought at different locations:

-Common: Dammon at the Grove (Act I)

-Uncommon (+1): Brem at Zhentarim hideout and Blurg at the Miconic colony (Act I)

-Rare (+2): Quartermaster Talli at Last Light Inn and Lann Tarv at Moonrise Towers (Act II) and Fytz the Firecracker at Lowtown (Act III)

The location of the special ones are:

Spoiler:
Show

-Faerie Elven Longbow: Chest in the Sunlit Wetlands (Act I). The same one where you find The Sparkle Hands.

-Sussur Elven Longbow: Craft it using Infused Ready Bow Parts and any Sussur Weapon. You can find Infused Ready Bow Parts in Blacksmith basament in Blighted Village (Act I). The same place where you forge the sussur weapon. In the chest where the steelforged shortsword is.

-The True Joltshooter: Craft it using Electrified Bow String and The Joltshooter. You can get The Joltshooter in Act I as a reward for rescue Counsellor Florrick from the burning inn of Waukeen's Rest (You need to select it between the posible rewards). You can buy Electrified Bow String from Brem at Zhentarim hideout (Act I).

-Moonranger Longbow: Looted from a locked chest in the abandoned house by the river just east of the Last Light Inn. Same one with the Penumbral Armour. Together with the Moonranger Armor if you use Elven Weaponry - Ranger. (Not require). I promise, this is the last thing I put on that chest!... probably XD.

-Slayer Elven Longbow: Chest in the smugglers cave (Act III). The same one where you find the Bonespike Boots.

-Taulmaril: Safe nº9 in The Counting House (Act III). You can lockpick the safe (It doesn't count as stealing) or get the key as a reward for completing Return Rakath's Gold.

Customization

From 1.3 longbow models have been edited to remove spikes (see screenshot). If you like more the old base game look you can revert changes using the Elven Smithing Tool (not included, separate download. Follow the link). Just use the tool on a weapon to give it spikes, use it another time if you want to remove them.

New model from 1.4 can't get spikes, but you can customize it to make it dyable. Just use the smithing tool on it to create a dyable version (The default colors in this version sucks but you are crafting it to change them anyway XD).

Unequip the weapon before crafting if you experience any issue, that should solve it.

Installation

BG3 Mod Manager is recommended.

Use either the Vortex Mod Manager or the BG3 Mod Manager and install this mod.

Make sure you deploy your mods if using Vortex or export the mod list if using BG3 Mod Manager.

For Update just overwrite old version pak with the new one. If you want to be 100% sure everything goes smoothly do the following:
-Remove equiped weapons from this mod from your characters (you can leave them in the inventory, no need to store them), save your game and exit.
-Install the new version (just overwrite old one).
-Load, you can reequip your weapons as you wish.
As I said, nothing of this should be needed, I update like hundreds of times while testing just overwritten the old file. But the above proccess should be the correct one to update items mods.

Uninstallation should be fine. If you want to be 100% sure everything goes smoothly use a mod that create a temporary container, like tutorial chest summoning. Place items in it and wait for it to vanish into the void with them. Save, exist and remove the mod. Remember to deploy/export after uninstalling mods

Optional

The miscellaneous file Braced VFX Remove will do just that, remove VFX from braced. Note that it's a standalone mod that will affect base game braced, as the main mod doesn't edit brace at all. It's set up as a self-override, it should be compatible with mods editing braced as long as mine load last.

Remove Keen Eye optional file will do just that for those who find it too strong. Require Main file and load after it (phisically below in the load order).

If you want the items to appear in the tutorial chest use: Elven Weaponry - Tutorial Chest. Load it after all main files from weaponry series.

Alternatively if you want to spam them with cheat engine or some other tool the UUID codes are:
