Original Skyrim version here Bethesda.net PC version here Bethesda.net XB1 version here Savior's Hide Nordic Pants replacer XB1 version here (uses vanilla textures or whatever texture replacer is installed, such as aMidianBorn Book of Silence SE)
Hope folks enjoy this update. It entailed a lot of work over the past month or so. I'll also try to get the optional files updated later today or tomorrow too. Original Skyrim/LE and Bethesda.net PC version's have been updated. XB1 is on hold unfortunately, because of an issue with the archive not packing the mod's textures. Please see here for more info. XB1 version has been updated now. Fingers crossed it works for folks. I'll check with my dad to see if he can playtest with it on his xbox as well. Edit: Savior's Hide Replacer remade and uploaded. Now a FOMOD installer to pick from any of the armor models and fur colors (or vanilla/replacer textures). Also updated the Original Texture Support file. Need to update the Wolf Armor replacer next.
New in 1.8: -Remade most of the models from scratch (such as to make them more compatible with other gauntlets, aka finally fix the infamous invisible elbow issue caused from how I originally did the partitions to eliminate clipping with the wolf gauntlets meshes, etc). -Gauntlets refitted to both the steel plate armor arms _0 and _1 meshes for both male and female versions. Introduced open finger versions of the gauntlets, with or without claws, for all fur colors, in light and heavy versions. Also redid the partitions to use both slot 34 - Forearms, and slot 33 - Hands, like most other gauntlets in the game. This should help eliminate clipping with the steel plate armor meshes, and even the vanilla bodies. -All items (except helmets) have had new female models created. A decade + later since I initially created this mod, I've finally done it. -Added paw versions of the boots from my Wearable Beast/Werewolf items mods. Comes in all four fur colors, with light and heavy versions.
Thank you for providing a replacement to vanilla Savior's Hide! As people already said, it would probably be a good idea to relaunch the replacer as a standalone, it could be more popular.
I went through about 60 pages of armor mods and just couldn't find anything I wanted, stuff is either not lore-friendly or just plain not that great looking, and the vanilla wolf helmet is just so ugly, really appreciate this mod. Also, if anyone is having problems with their character's elbow, showing trying turning down your character weight with either the console or the riften surgery woman. If you have racemenu you can also specifically target your forearm size and reduce them so the clipping isn't too bad. I also did notice weird green dots on the sleeved version on this armor they're barely noticeable, but hopefully, someone knows a fix.
Love the concept of replacing the savior's hide. The mashup looks fantastic. Only issue is the invisible elbows. I saw you acknowledged it before but it's still an issue that persists and keeps me from using it.
EDIT: Nvm. I found switching the mesh to sleeveless fixed the issue to my satisfaction. Thanks for the great replacer. A lot better than the vanilla hide.
I only made the default original steel plate armor mashup as a replacer file. If you want a different armor to replace it, then just extract the files from the bsa and move the meshes and rename them to the Savior's Hide folder. You could download the replacer in the optional files as a naming guide if need be. I think my naming scheme for my mods files are pretty clear enough as to what is what, but if not one could always use Nifskope to check them first. Same applies for replacing the Wolf Armor if desired, etc.
Edit: If you want to use different textures on it you'll need to use nifskope for that and either reassign them the default vanilla textures or any of the colors added by my mods.
Come to think of it I could make a pack of replacer options for both of those. Would probably make things easier for folks.
Hey man just a head's up this mod is not compatible with Growl because it checks for vanilla Beast Form unfortinetly, Growl uses custom one. Needs a patch :). Anyways awesome set's of armor well done
Okay so I went out of my way to create a patch for this for both the classic and SE versions, but before I went to test things in game (on the classic version, as it is the version my poor specs handle better), I forgot to copy over the patched plugin (as I had grabbed the updated MO2 archive file, using it as portable installation, and started reinstalling mods from scratch for a fresh playthrough, though I had the patch files backed up first on my desktop). After starting a new game with Alternate Start (using the Riverwood Inn option) and taking care of a few bandit camps to get leveled up quickly to take the Steel Smithing Perk, and sleeping outside to get the option of beast blood from Hircine, I went back to Riverwood and was surprisingly able to craft any of the armor pieces (although I did not have the materials on hand yet) without the need of the patched plugin I had created earlier, which leads me to believe there is no compatibility issue between the two mods and no patch is actually needed. I did also use a minimal load order to test things consisting of the vanilla dlc's, and the following mods:
-Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch -Wiseman303's Flora Fixes -Unofficial High Resolution Patch -Weapons and Armor Fixes Remade -Clothing and Clutter Fixes -Realistic Lighting Overhaul -Vokrii - Minimalistic Perks of Skyrim -The Choice is Yours -Static Mesh Improvement Mod -Growl - Werebeasts of Skyrim -Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement -Dragon Claw Stands -Gildergreen Regrown -Realistic Ragdolls and Force -Andromeda - Unique Standing Stones of Skyrim -Morningstar - Minimalistic Races of Skyrim -Modern Brawl Bug Fix -A Matter of Time - A HUD clock widget -Improved closefaced helmets -Wolf Knight Armor -SkyUI -Alternate Start - Live Another Life
Granted when I went to make the patch I noticed that Growl's Beast Form is a modified version of the vanilla one (same form ID, but renamed, etc), so it was already showing up correctly on the armor's recipes when Growl was set as a master file to my mod. Also worth mentioning is the version of Growl that I've used is the most recent version (1.2.0 as of writing this post).
While I did not have any issue with the various armor options showing up in the forge while using Growl, if you however are, or perhaps anyone else is, then I can upload the patched plugin as an optional file (which really just adds Growl as a master file to my mod's esp/plugin). Please let me know.
