    The latest version 8.2 adds 73 new fixes bringing the total up to 5,402.

    Below are the fixes added in the 8.0 patch:

    • Fixed trolls not reacting to Geralt being near them or bumping into them.
    • Fixed mesh of Hornwall horn respawning when reloading the game.
    • Fixed missing emphasis on the line where Geralt takes Uma from Sergeant during "Ugly Baby" quest.
    • Fixed Otrygg an Hindar having wrong head model (now matches the journal entry and his body after the berserker attack).
    • Fixed Dettlaff being visible in the scene where Regis, Geralt (and potentially Syanna) wait for Dettlaff's arrival during "Tesham Mutna" quest.
    • Added 156 LOD improvements for various items throughout the game. The problematic instances were identified from this mod: LOD Bug Fix collection, but this is not an incorporation, all the affected places were found and all the files re-done from scratch by us.
    • Fixed music transition not working correctly when leaving and entering Kaer Trolde village on foot.
    • Fixed music transition not working correctly when leaving and entering Beauclair catacombs.
    • Fixed a weird blend time between the cutscene and gameplay where a player regains control over Geralt, but not the camera for 5 seconds after witnessing thieves exchanging stolen purse during "Pyres of Novigrad" quest.
    • Fixed various doors in Toussaint suffering from a variety of problems (being locked where they shouldn't be or vice versa and having been wrongly colored).
    • Fixed peeing job for males, they were puking instead.
    • Fixed Arachas sound bug emitted from it's digging animations. No more noise from hell.
    • Fixed thug missing a sword in his hand during "Pyres of Novigrad" quest.
    • + 162 various placement and misc fixes to various NPCs and objects floating/clipping, etc. around the entire world.


    Below are the fixes added in the 8.1 patch:

    • Added a few more fixes from Nitpicker and Besserwisser (thanks to banmenot who explained some of them and helped me locate necessary files).
    • Removed Nitpicker's scabbard fixes where they were fixed by swapping around the scabbards, instead of fixing the scabbard itself. We felt like this type of fix is not up to BIA's standards.
    • Re-did the fix for Grandmaster Ursine armor not getting wet to improve compatibility with other mods editing this armor.
    • Fixed random stash icons on map caused by a bug in BIA 8.0 version.
    • Fixed optional dialogue with Nilfgaardian mom to advance the conversation forward during "Blood Ties" quest.
    • Fixed hole in the water near Southern Gate in Novigrad.
    • Fixed poop that was sunken under the road near the tavern in White Orchard.
    • Fixed a floating peasant inside the tavern in White Orchard.
    • Fixed floating/sunken children in Winter White Orchard.
    • Slightly repositioned Elihal and the chair he's sitting on so the door to his shop won't spasm as the player walks in.
    • Fixed objects (pillows, basket, coin purse) that were floating under his shop.
    • Fixed two floating crates in the Novigrad sewers.
    • Added missing water to a washtub in Midcopse.
    • Fixed two women in Farcorners having broken Action Points.
    • Fixed a Bon Vivant drinking at Metinna Gate and being sunken in ground.
    • Fixed floating mug and rag when entering conversation with the innkeepers.
    • Fixed Clever Clogs merchant sometimes teleporting the player into a building that's impossible to exit. 
    • Adjusted scene DOF to fix blurry screen when the player is interacting with the merchant.
    • Fixed quirky placement when interacting with the merchant sitting in front of Cunny of the Goose.
    • Fixed quirky placement for Geralt when talking to the merchant at Coast of Wrecks.
    • Fixed a sunken man in Lindenvale.
    • Fixed two noblewomen in Tourney Grounds not taking their APs.
    • Swapped the dialogue between the two Witch Hunters in Farcorners when they're breaking into the house of Remi Villeroy. (It didn't make sense that the hunter who kicked down the door was ordering the other hunter to do it.)
    • Fixed Geralt being placed in a wall or outside Remi's house in certain scenarios after killing the hunters.
    • Repositioned the interaction buttons for all of the shrines of Hemdall on Faroe to the base of the rock and fixed the buttons failing to show when viewed from certain angles.
    • Fixed Whoreson's Henchmen floating in his hideout during the quest "Payback".
    • Fixed a Redanian soldier outside the prison missing a crossbow in his hand after finishing "The Great Escape".
    • Removed lingering sound clue on the floor in the Elven Ruins in Oxenfurt. 
    • Disabled laughing noises in the bathhouse when it's empty and re-enabled them when the bathhouse gets re-populated again. 
    • Fixed Radovid's soldiers spawning prematurely on St. Gregorys Bridge (right as Geralt is given the "Reason of State" quest)
    • Fixed the quest giver of "Spooked Mare" and the Scoia'tael thieves losing their AP's and standing motionless after the quest concludes.
    • Fixed the quest giver being sunken in ground and clipping through his horse when brushing it. 
    • Fixed the Sergeant and the Stablemaster losing their AP's and becoming a soulless beings after you take Uma to Kaer Morhen. 
    • Fixed the Sergeant's fight bookie hanging around in Crow's Perch for eternity and not disappearing like the other fists of fury bookies.
    • Fixed Stan Fishgulper sitting and clipping through a chair.
    • Despawned the man kicking Dolores out from his house at the end of the quest to prevent him from having a broken AP. 
    • Fixed numerous floating/sunken/clipping etc. guards.
    • Fixed Zoltan sometimes sinking to the stage outside of Rosemary & Thyme when being confronted by Duke and his thugs. 
    • Fixed Zoltan floating after killing Duke's thugs at the final encounter.
    • Fixed a woman being waist deep sunken in a bench.
    • Fixed a sunken merchant in Francollarts.
    • Fixed NPCs in Vizima who were sunken in benches or not properly placed on them.
    • Fixed a woman floating in Hierarch Square when the Vegelbud race is being announced by the herold.
    • Fixed a woman and a fisherman sitting and overlapping in a village on Spikeroog.
    • Changed Geralt's commentary about severed body parts at the Abandonded Sawmill in Skellige to make more sense.
    • Fixed Hugo Monnart and his brothers being sunken at Clever Clogs.
    • Revised Klubargutan's fix for the interaction button for the painting of Victor Monnart. Now the button can be pressed from any angle.
    • Fixed multiple double cave entrances in Toussaint.
    • Fixed women sleeping on benches with their legs clipping through them.
    • Fixed Hym's shadow having a name during Geralt's investigation of the manor in "Possession" quest.
    • Fixed a woman on bench clipping through it with her feet.
    • Fixed the cellars in Corvo Bianco to be interior.
    • Fixed disappearing well during the scene when Geralt and Yennefer approach it in "The Great Escape" quest.
    • Increased very low LOD for shadows casted by objects with wind simulation that completely disappeared (flags, banners, rags, hanged clothes, market stands, barber’s sign).
    • Fixed missing shadows casted by one leg model used by Morkvarg (human form), Skellige fishermen and more.
    • Increased LOD for Geralt’s Hairworks beards that disappeared in more distant camera shots.
    • Fixed broken shadows for werewolves' torsos that disappeared from close distance.
    • Fixed Zdenek infinitely fighting around the Nowhere Inn if you hadn't witnessed his death before entering the arena during the quest "Get Junior".
    • Fixed a non-functioning fight in the arena between a man and 3 wolves if you enter the arena peacefully before talking to Igor during the quest "Get Junior". With that fixed one line of the arena announcer after the fight ends.
    • Fixed missing color definition for a Novigrad rich boy's scarf.
    • Added missing color definition to Valdo's hat during the quest "Payback".
    • Fixed Vivienne having invisible legs during the epilogue encounter with her and Guillaume.
    • Fixed Ingrid still having mask on her face when meeting Geralt in the stables during "A Matter of Life and Death" quest.
    • Fixed potion effects no cleared correctly during some quests, when effects from Geralt is removed, but toxicity remains.
    • Fixed some mutations incorrectly disabled in some quest battles.
    • Fixed a Wild One missing sword from his hand when meeting Olgierd at the burning estate.
    • Fixed a campfire that is impossible to be lit because the interaction is for looting it instead of igniting.
    • Changed door models in Toussaint from white to brown and vice versa to indicate where a door is locked and where it's open.
    • Fixed 2 floating lanterns in Oxenfurt.
    • Fixed infinitely respawning books with loot during "Extreme Cosplay" quest.
    • Fixed a noblewoman inside The Pheasantry whose dress was always bugging out when standing and drinking.
    • Fixed interaction buttons for trophies in Corvo Bianco being visible from outside and the player being able to place trophies through walls.
    • Spanish localization fixes by Pashalsta.

    • Fixed the ring from the quest "Last Rites" glowing in red as if it was a clue.
    • Fixed several regular objects glowing in yellow as if they were lootable in various locations in Oxenfurt and around Novigrad.
    • Fixed big broken shadow of one of the houses at an Abandoned Site south-west of Bastoy Prison Ruins.
    • Fixed broken shadows around 3 houses on the western border of Temple Isle.
    • Fixed missing sound effect of casting Yrden with a sword drawn when Geralt is out of combat.
    • Fixed boars not having the sound clue when using Witcher Senses (no sound, though, because there isn't a sound file for them in the files).
    • Fixed one of the druids during the quest "Echoes of the Past" getting stuck and not running down the hill with the rest of the druids after Yennefer uses the mask.
    • Fixed missing note on a bandit's corpse at a Guarded Treasure south-west of Fox Hollow if you clear Loth Halfbreed's hanse first.
    • Adjusted the scene with the innkeeper of Seven Cats to prevent the camera getting blocked by objects when interacting with her.
    • Fixed a clipping brazier at Beauclair Palace.
    • Fixed the Sommelier of The Adder and Jewels Winery being sunken.
    • Fixed 2 floating workers at Gustfields.
    • Fixed the herbalist in front of Cunny of the Goose colliding with a fishing net resting on the wall when interacting with him.
    • Fixed a Fallen Knight being sunken when the trio tries to break into Otto Bamber's shop.
    • Fixed 2 floating women in Crow's Perch.
    • Fixed a floating and a sunken worker at Cockatrice Inn.
    • Fixed sword taunting job for males, the sword would stay mounted on the hip and they would taunt empty handed.
    • Global fix for armorers, butchers and innkeepers to prevent them sinking to the ground when the area is loaded.
    • Fixed a prostitute in Crippled Kate's who was dancing off table.
    • Slightly adjusted the Madame of Crippled Kate's so Geralt doesn't collide with the prostitute at the counter after leaving the conversation.
    • Fixed two bodies in Freya's Garden that were invisible but the player could examine.
    • Increased LOD for the papers lying on the bridge at Oxenfurt University.
    • Fixed the candles in the intro scene next to Geralt taking a bath getting blown out when the camera pans. 
    • Fixed candles inside Yen's room in Kaer Trolde turning off when the camera is panned away from them.
    • Fixed flickering lights in Kaer Trolde tavern and enabled shadow casting for the chandeliers (only affects tavern).
    • Fixed numerous candles inside houses in the village of Kaer Trolde that would flicker off/on as the player moves around the interior.
    • Fixed flickering chandelier.
    • Fixed two sunken guards in Kaer Trolde.
    • Fixed the shears for workers cutting hedges, they were not placed in hands but instead hovering at the feet.
    • Increased LOD for hand saws to prevent them from disappearing in certain cutscenes.
    • Fixed missing shadows for the following items - Axe, churn stick, meat cleaver, fishing rod, hoe, pick, scythe, shepherd's staff, shovel, spyglass, toy sword, toy bow, pimp cane.
    • Fixed Deadly Delights guard losing his AP after the quest.
    • Fixed sometimes not being able to craft items with Oreton blacksmith.
    • Fixed Geralt switching places with Lindenvale innkeeper every time when interacting with him.

    • Fixed more cubic shadows on horses (compliment of the BIA fix #1917).
    • Fixed Gaetan having no scabbard.
    • Fixed flickering lighting in the scene in Vizima between Geralt and Yennefer during "Ugly Baby" quest. Note: This was undocumented, but found among Besserwisser's files.
    • Fixed lighting during Geralt - Igor talking in sewers scene.
    • Fixed lighting during Geralt - Roche talking about Whoreson scene.
    • Fixed Alternate Aard not creating water ripples when casting over water.
    • Euphoria mutation glow fix.
    • Fixed Ciri sometimes having two swords in cutscenes.
    • Multiple fixes during "Count Reuven's Treasure" quest with Triss killing Menge scene: Restored blood splutter effect to how it was when the game was released, it was removed in some subsequent patch, fixed blood not spluttering on one side of Triss' face and on her clothes, fixed spluttered blood dissipating almost instantly, breaking immersion. Note: This fix is completely re-done from scratch to ensure the correct blood effect and it not immediately dissipating.
    • Fixed Triss' DLC costume not loading properly in Corvo Bianco.
    • Fixed Ermion's staff fading in and out in some cutscenes.
    • Fixed Hierarch Hemmelfart's painting icon not lookng like the actual painting.
    • Fixed floating poster near Mulbrydale after the blacksmith is rescued.
    • Fixed flickering clouds in Kaer Morhen area.
    • Fixed Kiyan's scabbard position. Note: This was an undocumented fix found in Besserwisser's files and not fully finished. It is now properly re-done.
    • Fixed Roche's scabbard position.
    • Fixed Whoreson Junior's scabbard position.
    • Fixed spasming whales in Skellige.
    • Improved draw distance and shadows of windmills.
    • Fixed sword effects on basic swords not working correctly.
    • Fixed clipping issues with Geralt's arm and left sleeve of Ursine 1st tier armor.
    • Fixed Grandmaster Ursine armor not getting wet when raining. Note: Fix is re-done to ensure Grandmaster Ursine armor not changing its visual appearance together with the added wetness effect in rain.
    • Fixed a gap in Grandmaster Ursine gloves not meeting Geralt's wrists.
    • Fixed Iris sword not having the same scabbard as when Olgierd is using it and makes it unique. Note: This fix is redone. Nitpicker's original version was a hack, by making Iris unique, he had overwritten Sabre Scabbard 07 (a unique scabbard for EP1 sabre swords) and given them all Sabre Scabbard 06 (which is what scoia'tael swords use in base game). As a result, yes, Iris became unique, but we lost one scabbard completely in the process. It is now re-done, EP1 sabres use their unique scabbards and Iris uses its own unique scabbard that Olgierd does.
    • Fixed typo in XML file causing 2 different scabbard templates using the same model. Will now slightly increase the overall variety of NPC scabbards.
    • Fixed sheathing issues for crafted "Harpy", "Negotiator" and "Weeper" relic swords using wrong sheathe templates.
    • Fixed missing potion activation SFX for Pops' Mold. Complement to BIA fix #292.
    • Fixed Viper trousers causing clipping issues with Nilfgaardian armor and Wolven armor.
    • Fixed Vivienne's feather not equippable.
    • Fixed Grandmaster Wolven gear not requiring Mastercrafted prototypes to upgrade.
    • Fixed clipping between Geralt's tourney armor and Ravix armor, and certain pairs of Toussaint gloves.

    • Fixed some clothing racks floating/clipping.
    • Fixed common road sign model, sign not touching the post.
    • Fixed 2 sets of glitched catacomb doors near Beauclair cemetary. Note: This fix is completely re-done. Nitpicker didn't fix the doors, but just remove them entirely. They are now fixed properly to open and close normally and not having the skulls stuck.
    • Fixed DLC beards not displaying and growing correctly when Geralt has Gaunter's mark on his face.
    • Fixed fast travelling in a boat to Novigrad Docks sometimes placing the boat underwater.
    • Fixed Geralt's position in the boat so his swords do not clip through the side of it and increased LOD for sailable boats.
    • Fixed too small a table for an eternal fire guard and a witch hunter appearing near Novigrad gates after "Now or Never" quest has been started.
    • Fixed missing stoves and other objects in winter White Orchard.
    • Fixed Geralt swapping hair models when using Piercing Cold mutation.
    • Fixed a hole in the ground in the cave under the Temple Isle where you fight Kiyan.
    • Fixed a floating chandelier in Pierre's shop in Beauclair.
    • Fixed floating road decals in Beauclair.
    • Fixed a huge gap in the water near Novigrad sewers and fixed some floating and clipping crates/parcels in the sewers.
    • Fixed floating road decals on the road from Hierarch Square to the Golden Sturgeon.
    • Fixed floating brazier on Temple Isle near the alchemist.
    • Improved LOD on a ship in Novigrad.
    • Improved LODs on two ships in Oxenfurt.

    • Fixed the gaps in the Vespula (laundry woman) character model - Already fixed in BIA.

    • Added thighs to Pricilla & Added Panties to Pricilla thighs fix - Not a bug fix and runs the risk of clipping as the she doesn't have thighs because of her skirt. Also, ruins the scene where Priscilla and Dandelion ride away on horses from the shack as the camera films directly under her skirt and the panty shot doesn't fit at all. Here is an example.
    • Fixed parry with Ethereals - Already fixed in BIA.
    • Incorporated AsarGiN's Fix for Avalach Lab Music - Already fixed in BIA.
    • "High Stakes" Quest will now properly unlock a dialogue option with Fringilla Vigo - Already fixed in BIA.
    • Made Succubusses use Essence and to actually be Hybrids - Already fixed in BIA.
    • Added shoes to Keiras Velen appearance - Not a bug fix, as Keira was intended barefoot in Velen (she does have shoes in Kaer Morhen). There is also Shoes for Keira mod if you still want it.
    • Fixed Snow Hares giving loot - Already fixed in BIA.
    • Fixed lightning in opening cutscene - Already fixed in BIA.
    • Fixed a fex npcs equipping their items properly - The edits could not be located and verified.
    • Incorporated: Thaler's monocle fix by Klubargutan - Already fixed in BIA.
    • Incorporated: Han Fiber Fix by BlurredNotions - Already fixed in BIA.
    • All the old armor textures were not included for obvious reasons. Those can still be found under optional files of their original mods.

    Regarding the quests Deserter Gold and Temerian Valuables
    One of the changes Brothers in Arms has made to the above quests has caused a bit of confusion. If you are having trouble this is the comment to read

    The quests Deserter Gold and Temerian Valuables have a problem in vanilla where they both converge at a shack near the windmill in White Orchard. There are 4 chests, 1 is for Temerian Valuables and is by default locked while the other 3 are from Deserter Gold and by default are unlocked. The issue arose where typically players loot the 3 chests from Deserter Gold before starting the quest, this results in the quest not starting at all or autoskipping several journal entries and objectives which is frustrating to completionists.

    As such BiA introduced a change where those 3 chests are now also locked until you find the key. If you are unsure where the key is it is found on a body in the forest where you normally start the quest.

    If for some reason you cannot find the key or have lost it this is the console command: additem('lw_prologue_deserter_key01')

      I still have it but I'd rather use a patch for the next-gen version, which sadly has never been made.

      I can't speak for everyone, but I got into modding because I wanted some mods that no one else made, and I was motivated to learn and do it myself.

      Just saying, if no one has made a mod that you want, what's stopping you from doing it yourself?

      compare files between them
      decide which should be overlap by
      and put all together creating a patch....
      All this using wolves kit, is this the way?

      I tried, but I don't know how works the app and the game, I will look for tutorials...

      That's exactly the process. There are three categories: scripts that can be merged, .xmls that can be merged, and game files that cannot be merged. Scripts and .xmls require manually editing them to splice them together. The game files require determining what was changed in each of them and then using one as a base and adding the edits from the other on top of it. You'll need WolvenKit to extract the files and then bundle them to make the mod. kdiff is a program to compare text in different documents so you can find what was changed.

      Recently, I've been considering this.  Thing is, I have only edited xml files when it comes to bundles. So I'm a bit scared.

      I saw a message on discord and he wouldn't recommend the patch anymore, is too out of date.

      I will try to build a mod over EER to learn.
      I hope the EER team merge the old gen with EE  like they did on the next, I believe the things will be more easy to make a patch.

      It might actually be trickier. Kolaris combined W3EER + W3EE for next-gen, but in classic the mods and dependencies are still separate. It's still doable, but probably more effort than the classic gen version.

      Hmmm... I didn't study classic gen W3EER when I made the next-gen patch, so I'm perhaps not the best authority on this. Theoretically yes, the process should be the same as long as the same files overlap between W3EER and BiA in classic as they did in next-gen. But from what I understand, the classic W3EER has a lot of separate pieces to how it is installed, so I'm not sure we can assume that the patch will work the same way. What I would do (in fact, what I did when I made the patch) is to completely uninstall everything except for W3EER and BiA. From there, you will see exactly which files conflict. Then you need to try merging them to see which ones merge automatically and which ones need manual intervention. Once you have a list of the scripts and xmls that need manual merging, then you can probably compare to my patch and see how I did it. Likely they will be the same. Just keep in mind - you need to use classic gen scripts and xmls. If you use next-gen, the game won't compile.

      Also, bear in mind that scripts and xmls are only 2/3 of the compatibility patch. You also need to merge the non-text bundled files (phase and entity files). Those must be manually edited, and you probably want to take the BiA file as a base and make the W3EER edits on top of it. This is done in WolvenKit. Truthfully it's not hard (W3EER's edits are fairly minor and relatively few by comparison to BiA), but the trick is figuring out exactly what was edited in each of the files so that you can copy them over. I used kdiff to compare the files and identify what was different and then made the edits using WolvenKit.

      The optional file is for the next-gen version of this mod. It was originally part of the main mod in the classic gen version.

      It seemed to me that it was also optional here for a while. In general, you will not change anything in this version. Pitifully. I went through the next gen game entirely recently and decided that I would stay on the classic version. There are too many critical problems in nextgen. I even created a topic on a Russian-language forum, where I dropped about 20 different problems that strongly caught my eye... It is no longer possible to play the witcher without BiA, even in the classic one, but these "controversial" fixes certainly spoil the impression...

      I found that my automatic translator is not working well. In my first question, I had something slightly different in mind)

      Restored lengthy dialogue with the innkeeper at the Inn at the Crossroads during "Nilfgaardian Connection" quest.

      Restored the sequence with Dune and Hussar in the early prologue of the game while Geralt and Vesemir rides into the village for the first time. Includes unique conversation between Geralt and Vesemir and a unique dialogue option with Dune - can ask about Yennefer.

      Restored 2 sequences during Kaer Morhen battle forest phase. Can lure sleeping arachas towards one of the Wild Hunt groups and let loose crossbow traps in the old Gauntlet on another group of Wild Hunt. Both sequences come with new journal objectives and gameplay dialogues between Geralt and Lambert. Also a body of a dead wolf can be examined near the arachas' cave.

      Yeah, all those are in optional bundle for the next-gen version. Alas, we are not planning updates on the Classic version of BIA. Although I think Dune thing is not actually a part of Classic BIA either, it was only available on our Discord server as additional mod.

      The only thing BiA does to that file is to fix the position of a brazier to stop it from clipping. I don't know what the other mod is that edits that file, but you can safely give priority to the other mod.

    This is one of the best mods. Thank you so much guys. I just wish it was updated to be on par with the next gen version. A lot of people are still on old gen because their PC's are not powerful enough to play on next gen. And next gen introduces even more bugs to the game. I couldn't stand the flickering of shadows in Toussaint and why I switched back to 1.32.

      Use Fast Travel Pack instead. It's made to work with all mosd without conflicts, BIA included. And it contains all the FT points from the mod you linked.

    Why is the LOD file separate/optional? Does it affect performance? I have a laptop so I try to avoid increasing draw distance too much

      We're not aware of any impacts to performance. We've not observed measurable impacts nor has anyone reported any. The reason we kept it separate is for flexibility so you can get the true bug fixes and not use the LOD if desired. Also the LOD fixes also have a lot of conflicts with other mods, so keeping it separate allows for giving it lower priority. Ultimately, it's not required so if you don't feel you want to use it, you don't have to.
