Changelogs
The Blossom Submarine
brought to you by The Hypnotists (see our Discord Server)

Mesmerizing Ability
The Blossom features 8 hypnotizing wings that, when extended, have the power to attract nearby creatures. Like the Mesmer creature, the Blossom slowly draws fish to itself. When those fish touch the Blossom, and if they are small enough, they will be collected into the Blossom's internal storage. If those fish have aquarium-variants, they will also begin swimming in the Blossom's aquarium! To power this feature, the Blossom requires a Mesmer as part of its construction recipe; you must find and hatch a Mesmer Egg to acquire one.

Special attention was paid to all creatures, including modded creatures. The Blossom is compatible with all (currently known) modded creatures, including those from these mods:

Scanning Upgrade
The Blossom can be upgraded to scan all mesmerized creatures. Per creature, the scan time is longer than usual, but the Blossom can scan many creatures at once. Scanning many of the same fish works like a multiplier!

Power Upgrades
The Blossom can be upgraded to mesmerize larger and more dangerous creatures. At first, it will only be able to mesmerize small creatures such as Peepers and Garryfish. There are three tiers of power upgrades. Here are some examples of effected creatures:
  • Tier 1: Stalkers, Bonesharks, Gaspods
  • Tier 2: Warpers, Crabsquids, River Prowlers
  • Tier 3: Ghost, Reaper, and Sea Dragon Leviathans (disabled by default- see the options menu)

Range Upgrades
The Blossom mesmerizer can be upgraded to extend its functional range. It begins with 20 meters of range, and it can be upgraded as follows.
  • Tier 1: 30 meters range
  • Tier 2: 40 meters range
  • Tier 3: 50 meters range

Egg-hatching Aquarium
The Blossom's large internal aquarium can hatch four eggs at once. It hatches eggs 50% faster than the Alien Containment Unit. When an egg hatches, it will be added to the Blossom's internal storage. If there isn't space for the hatched creature, the Blossom will wait until there is. When space becomes available, the hatched creature will be added to the internal storage. Be careful if the submarine is destroyed; the fish will slowly escape!

Enzyme Distributor Upgrade
If you have a Hero Peeper, you can use it to craft the Enzyme Distributor upgrade. This upgrade will cure infection from every fish in the Blossom aquarium, and it will make any Peepers into Heroes! (You can identify Hero Peepers by the sparkly trail they leave in the water.)

Other Features:
  • can be recolored in the Moonpool, using the Vehicle Upgrade Bay.
  • Requires 5 fragments to be scanned, which are located
    Spoiler:

in both Blood Kelp biome areas
  • If you're adding the Blossom to an existing save, and you're worried the fragments won't spawn, you can clear the cells cache.
  • If you don't want to deal with the fragments, go down to the Console Commands section.

Known Incompatibilities:

Compatibility Notes
  • Modded creatures will, in general, get mesmerized if you have the appropriate level of upgrade.
  • Some super-leviathans are totally immune to being mesmerized.
  • Modded eggs can, in general, be hatched in the Blossom Aquarium.
  • Many modded creatures will show up in the Blossom Aquarium, but some are too big.

Options (Nautilus):
  • Choose the button that triggers the Blossom wings to extend/retract.
  • Decide how unknown creatures will be handled. This is for modded creatures that may exist in the future.
  • Choose whether the Mesmerizer Power Level 3 upgrade will be available (Restart Required). This will allow you to mesmerize some leviathans.
  • Limit the number of creatures that can be mesmerized at once.
  • Limit the number of creatures that can be scanned at once.
  • Toggle the visibility of the Blossom HUD icon.
  • Move the Blossom HUD icon around.

Development Videos
This playlist contains a dozen or so short demonstrations of the Blossom's features. The earliest videos are from the beginning of Blossom development and so do not fully reflect the final state of the Blossom Submarine.

Help! I can't find the fragments!
The Blossom uses Nautilus's "Coordinated Spawns" system to place its fragments. If you added the Blossom to an existing save, and especially if you've been to the target biome

then the fragments may not be spawned. You can try Clearing the Cell Cache to make the fragments appear, or you can use some of the console commands listed above to unlock the Blossom forcibly.
