Hi again everyone! Life's been getting a bit busy, but my unofficial update is ready (I think) ! You can grab it here: Rustic Country Town Interiors for 1.6. Simply download it and unzip in your mods folder!
It includes:
Everything that was in the original RCTI, but with the code remade from scratch, some personal fixes (including a keyboard that Seb can play and a new option for the coop/barn's feeding troughs to be less yellow) and extraterrestrialsandwich's fixes (go give them kudos!)
SVE compat (in theory - please note that I don't use SVE so I didn't test it, let me know if anything looks weird!)
It's also technically LUTI compatible, but there are some furniture tiles that mod adds that I can't target so expect some visual weirdness with it (nothing's too bad, I play with it and love it)
Again, please let me know if you find any visual bugs so I can squish them ^^
Wanted to say thank you so much for this!!! I used to really adore this mod and especially it's tiny seasonal changes. By any chance how did you jimmy around with it so that it works more with luti? I'm trying to get both running but i'm getting overlap with rustic mostly being covered up. Again, thanks so much, I'm playing with my interior recolor and luti turned off now so there's no real issue- I'm just curious!
Hey! I'm kinda new to all this mod thingy. So I don't know if the initial home should have changes with this mod or if its only the updated one that changes. Because when I play the inital home doesn't change but the other charaters homes does
Hi! Only the beams will be recolored in your farmhouse, your furniture won't change like in the NPCs' houses! For the rest of the farmhouse to match the town, check out DustBeauty's Industrial Kitchen and Industrial Furniture mods ^^
hi! change what, exactly? the mod already replaces all interiors by default, there's no need to do anything. if you mean the beam color, that's in the config file.
Hi everyone! I've been working on an unofficial update for this mod, which should be done after a lot of playtesting, so it's just a few days before i can share it with you all! Let me know of any visual bugs you've found with RCTI so I can check I didn't miss anything.
I'm having a weird error (bug?) where there are little chunks inside each room or building that are the vanilla color. It's just a little patch of floor here, a little strip of wall there, in just about every building interior. Anyone have tips? Here's my SMAPI log: https://smapi.io/log/9570f4e2ab6c44a2823dd5669a3086e2?Levels=trace%7Edebug%7Einfo%7Ewarn%7Eerror%7Ealert%7Ecritical
I really like this but i also want to be able to use other interior mods for like character houses too. I wish there was a way to turn some places off.
Hey gang, here's finally my unofficial update! Sorry it took so long, I've spent an ungodly amount of time on this and playtested it to the moon and back, and now I'm finally completely satisfied so I thought I'd share!
I also made some changes to the original TownInterior.png as I noticed some graphical errors when I was playtesting. Everything should look good now as you put it into your game, but give me a heads up if anything looks wonky!
I posted it in the forums: https://forums.stardewvalley.net/threads/unofficial-mod-updates.2096/page-183#post-125051 (READ the post before you download, cause this is just 4 pngs - you need the original mod first for it to work) Updated 2024-04-22 to fix smth I missed in farmhouse_tiles.png + added farmhouse_tiles_light.png cause it needed fixing too.
Edit 2025-01-11 sorry I dropped off the face of the earth lol. Got super busy and stopped playing Stardew again. I hear my update is officially outdated. Good news is I got contacted about someone else doing a proper update, so hopefully you'll be able to use this lovely mod again soon!
Do you mean the mod doesn't show up at all? To be clear, you need to download the original mod first, then mine, cause mine only contains the 3 png files that're changed.
this is probably a dumb question, but could you specify which mod would be the "original" that's also needed? some of the interiors that are still a bit wonky for me are in the saloon, the library, and abigail's room.
I am not good at coding so will have to copy/replace yourself but here are the updated SVE Rustic Interiors, just copy and replace over StardewValleyExpanded.
tayroberson this mod, rustic country town town interiors. just download this mod from the "files" tab on nexus, put it in your mods folder, and then download my zip file, and drag into your mods folder (it will ask to replace 3 files). I can't see any graphical errors in those locations in my game.
CuntressSupreme They don't look like that in my game, those tiles should be in the townInterior_2.png, and fixed with my zip. It looks like the same floortiles appear in the z_extras pngs (stardew valley expanded > [cp] stardew valley expanded > assets > tilesheets > fall_z_extras, spring_z_extras, summer_z_extras and winter_z_extras). The logs around the fireplace in my game match the z_extras pngs, while my floor tiles don't (they're from my towninterior png). But your logs don't match the z_extras png nor my towninterior_2 png, and the floor tiles look vanilla. Do you know if you have a mod installed that alters the appearance of SVE that would touch the z_extras files, that maybe override the rustic interior mod? I'm not very good at these things so i'm not sure what else it could be. try putting an extra [ in front of this mod so it says [[CP] Rustic Country Town Interior, and maybe it will get prioritized.
Hii, sorry to bother but I am having an issue with this mod right now and no matter what I do it won't work. I have added the original mod and the mod in your link, and I also added and extra ''['' in the [CP] Rustic Country Town Interior due to your suggestion to someone else's comment and it still didn't work. It simple just keeps showing me this error: - [[CP] Rustic Country Town Interior\[CP] Rustic Country Town Interior\assets because it's an empty folder
I was just wondering if you could help me any way but if not, then that is fine too. C:
hssnd01 have you put my [CP] rustic country town interior folder into the original [CP] rustic country town interior? to clarify, you shouldn't, cause there shouldn't be multiple folders with the same name, i just did it that way to ease installation (but i'm not sure if it did hahah). all you should do is grab my 3 modified pngs and put them into the assets folder of the original mod. if you have multiple folders called the same thing then you have done it wrong. the file path should be just \Stardew Valley\Mods\[CP] Rustic Country Town Interior\assets. I'm not sure what else it could be, cause the folders shouldn't be empty. If they are, just delete them, and reinstall according to my instructions.
(and you shouldn't need the extra [, that's just if multiple mods touch the same files)
Hello! I'm also having issues with the mod working sadly. I tried everything you suggested: downloading the original, downloading your update, placing it in the folder, and replacing it. I even downloaded the SVE tilesheets from the other comment that was made and put it into the mods folder- However like one of the people before, the mod shows up in the config menu but nothing changed. Everything still looks the same and I'm not sure what to do- I don't know if it's on my end since I have a lot of mods installed, but all of the others are working fine. It's just mainly this one- Perhaps I'll try redownloading it again and doing it all again. I'm not sure if it'll help but it's worth a try. If you figure out a fix or a cause for why this is happening, I would appreciate it! I really want the game to look all rustic and medieval and stuff, so I think this mod is the perfect thing that's missing. Thanks for reading this far and I hope the issue gets fixed soon!
ImaginationCentral That's really strange. I'm sorry but I have no idea what could be causing that. Nothing in my zip actually does anything to the mod, it just replaces 3 pngs, so if something is wrong it would have to be the original mod itself causing issues, but I am having no such trouble on my end. Without more information to go off of I have no clue what could be the problem. If you have followed all the instructions it should be working fine. I have installed it this way many times and all works fine.
Have you checked inside the folders if all the files are there? The main folder should have 2 jsons (3 with the config), 1 png and 1 folder. in that folder (assets) there should be 34 pngs and 1 folder (SVE, with 6 pngs inside). If all the files are there, there should be no issues, unless you have a mod that somehow conflicts with this one.
OK I'VE MANAGED TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG ON MY END!!! One of the mods that I have downloaded was the Vibrant pastoral mod and the temporary 1.6 fix for it! It turns out that was the one causing issues and not loading in the mod- Maybe the recolor mod is overriding this one? But I'm really glad that I figured it out! Sad that my favorite recolor mod isn't working with this, but I'll see if I can find a decent replacement to fix it.
ImaginationCentral I'm glad you figured it out! issues usually come from mod conflicts. i tried downloading that mod and just changing the names doesn't seem to work (though i'm sure there's some other way to make another mod take priority), but there is a config file where you can, among other things, turn off town interiors. I'd check what you want from that mod and only keep those things on. i only tested a little, but turning off interiors in the configs of both the original and 1.6 fix for the mod seemed to resolve the problem.
so sorry to bother you.. but have you or anyone else noticed that the left pillar by the fridge is stuck brown when using the white structure option? i removed my other mods with keeping just this one and it still remained dark brown while the others white.
vanilloxx that's my bad! i totally forgot to include the light option in my update, since i don't use it myself. it's a separate file. if you look in the files, you will see farmhouse_tiles.png (that's the one i changed, to include that new pillar in the dark version) and farmhouse_tiles_light.png, which is the exact same but white. if you compare them you will see that the dark one has one extra pillar, but it looks the same as another pillar. i'd suggest opening both in maybe photoshop, copy-pasting the white pillar you need, and placing it in the same position as in the dark version that i've edited. there's also a small section in towninterior_2 that would need changing, but i don't know how to make that configurable, but it's easy to grab a section from towninterior_light.png and paste it in place. https://imgur.com/a/pV1EP1P
I'm not sure what tile sheet and what location in the sheet these orange tiles would be in. The affected tiles are in the new house upgrades (extended corner room, dining room). I do have your new tilesheets added in to the original mod.
Nyoomboy it's in the farmhouse_tiles.png, I overlooked it when I did my fix since I don't have that upgrade and wasn't sure what needed updating or not on that tilesheet. I've fixed it now, and while I was at it I updated the light version of that tilesheet too.
ImaginationCentral thank you for figuring that out I was having the same issue. You can still use Vibrant Pastoral you just have to turn it off for inside buildings. That can be done through General Mod Manager. I hope this helps others.
For the most part it works fine for me, however there are a few things that are still missing from converting. I presume it has to do with SVE tiles maybe?:
- Haley's and Emily's bed doesn't change. - Jenkins residence bathroom doesn't change. Same with both Olivia and Victors beds. - Some issues with a wall during summer. The white wall used in Penny's spouse room (Or harvey's room) gets these red stars at the top of the wall. Can provide SS if needed. - Saloon behind the counter floor doesn't change. (Same with Evelyn and Community center kitchen) Not sure if its intended tho.
I isolated the issue with only having expanded and rustic installed.
xKiitsunee I actually haven't played stardew properly in years so i don't have the theater on the saves i've been testing in, that's why i didn't think to check. i'll look into it, thanks!
I also noticed this. Seb'skeyboard is turned backwards towards him. The same seems to apply to the keyboard in his room (which is added by Sve but retextured by Rustic Country)
Sevrez1302 i playtested without SVE, i didn't really think about if it needed fixes too. i've never used SVE before 1.6 so i can't know what's broken with the update and what's just supposed to be like that. - I can't find any replacements for the SVE beds (haley, emily, olivia, and victor) in the original country town interiors mod. did they not always look vanilla? they're in the VanillaFurniture.png file in assets > SVE, and don't seem to get overritten by anything else. i could change that file. - i can't find the file in SVE for the zcompactbathroom_tiles.png that's in the original rustic country town interior, and the bathroom in the jenkins house is instead a file called bathroomtilesheet.png that's completely different. maybe they changed it or something, and the rustic country town interior file no longer works, i can't know for sure. either way i don't know a way to fix it other than just redrawing the SVE file and replacing it in that mod (i'm not sure if i'll do that, since it wouldn't be placed into this mod) - the stars appear without SVE too. it's in the original mod, not a bug. you can find it in the townInterior_summer.png if you want to erase it. townInterior_fall.png has a similar thing with lanters on the same tile. it's seasonal decoration i guess. - i think the floor is supposed to look like that.
Thank you for the thorough response, I appreciate it!
I'll go through the different files and see if I can edit some of it myself.
The most pressing annoyances I've seen when playing the last few days for SVE are:
- Susan's house, more specifically the room with kegs in the back. mismatched floor because of an error with the dirt I presume, since its missing. - Jenkins bathroom does have a tilesheet that should change the whole thing to what is shown in the preview, but just doesn't work for some reason, cant find the reason myself either. - The floor tile used in a few different places could use something more "rustic": behind the counter in the saloon. The area at the bottom right in the museum. Evelyns kitchen. The look of the preview would be a lot better. However if its intended by the mod, I'll see if I can change it myself. - A few beds missing from changing. haley, emily, olivia and victor. Atleast shown in the preview pictures, olivia's and victor's bed should change.
It is only minor annoyances really and I'm happy with what you've provided with your update!
@calebokay if you're talking about the floating piece above the door, it's there intentionally (see assets\Cursors.png). if you want them gone, kimsukkatt posted a fix on here back in january '22, you can download it here =) just replace the files in the mod's assets folder with the ones provided via that link
for some reason its not working for me? theres still the same tiles missing and nothings changed from the original mod. the only map altering mod i have is SVE. idk if its my other mods or this mod but either way heres my SMAPI log. it could be the way im installing it - are you meant to replace the files in the original rustic interiors or do i just add them to my mods folder without replacing them?
edit: okay i figuired it out, i was having the same issue as ImaginationCentral with my vibrant pastoral recolor. i managed to fix it though by going into generic config menu and turning off town interiors in vibrant pastoral recolor (unnofficial update) if anybody else has a similar issue.
Hi, first off thank you so much for your work ! I don't use any recolor for interior nor mods that adds or alter furnitures in any way, and by downloading the original mod + adding your update on top of it, everything seems to work fine ? Except for Gus's bar, clint's shop and the museum. There are a few bright orange vanilla tiles poking through in these three areas. Is there anything I could do to change that ? I do have a recolor for the outside, Soft Slow Seasons, and I didn't add any new maps or areas to the game, no SVE or anything like that.
Just wondering are you by chance going to update it so that it can be used with the new update for Stardew valley because I'm unable to use it because it needs a update
