Thank you for adding the bow to the left hand. I would like to know if you have the bow equipped to left hand and switch to a sword, is there a way to have the bow go back to its spot on the back? I have tried multiple times to see if I could get it to work that way but I ended up with double bows showing one in the left hand and one on the back and I only have one bow in my inventory. I’m new to IED and I have followed every instruction but I seem to either goof something up or it’s just not possible to do. Anyway, that you once again for your mods they make Skyrim way more enjoyable.
Thank you for your reply, I guess I must be messing something up. I will reinstall and try again. Sorry for the questions I am an old gamer and my eyes are not as sharp as they once were and I tend to overlook things. Once again Thank you for your wonderful Mods and quick reply to my issues.
Greetings, I've spent a fairly lengthy amount of time trying to get this mod to work. I ran into a couple of bugs. 1. When the bow is in the favorites and is not picked up we get incorrect display. If we put it on it starts to display correctly, but the function of this mod is not active.

The only thing that I have worked is dressing, taking off the bow. Judging by the animation of the bow should be on the right side, but it is displayed on the left.

I've tried taking the bow off and putting it on a few dozen times, it doesn't work. Incorrect bow display, appears after I apply a preset in Display manager I really hope for your help.
I don't think you're applying the presets correctly. Seems like you're missing the preset in Custom items, check description again.
If the bow is not invisible after applying the preset in Gear nodes, then your skeleton is not supported and I would need its signature. Instructions on how to get the skeleton signature here, on the sticky: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/92244?tab=posts
I've solved the bulk of the problem. The main part of it was that I skipped step 2, and went straight to step 3. I didn't go to the "Custom items" tab, but did everything in the "Equipment slots" tab. Therefore, nothing was happening.
Now everything works, but the bowstring remains in vanilla state (Passes through the character).
Lol. The "immersive" part of the name it's just the expanded bow for an already existing node. That previously just clipped with the body, so, not really immersive. You can argue that it's not realistic because of the pressure of the bow over the body or the damage to the bow. In the end it's just a game anyway.
Well to be completely fair, as an actual former bowman i can confirm that wearing bow like that is uncomfortable as hell. Bowstring is constantly trying to choke you.
Yeah, I read the rant comment in the original mod linked in the description. It's still more immersive than the original node, the point still stands :)
@SilkRoadOnline, What exactly is the purpose of you pointing that out? It seems snobbish and there's always someone like you posting a dumb comment like this, seemingly just to be annoying. Yeah, we know a real adventurer wouldn't wear their bow like that. We also know that swords don't just float on your hip either. You can't shoot a fireball out of your hands or close a wound instantaneously. There's no such thing as a magic healing potion. Dragons don't exist, and neither do cat-people, elves, or lizard-people. You probably can't carry more than a few hundred gold pieces, let alone the thousands that most of us end up accumulating. Forget about looting tombs full of zombies and walking skeletons, vampires, and trolls. Are you going to remove all of these things from your game as well? Probably not.
I saw the guy's comment as being non-aggressive, just pointing out something that visually hurts any real Bowman...
But of course there's always someone making it look like it was an aggressive comment towards the mod's author...even as the author didn't consider it an offense. The comment wasn't "dumb" and @SilkroadOnline has a point.
It's just that sometimes you can't always make things perfect and have to work with what you have at hand, something the author did as he could.
I made the presets based on the vanilla skeleton, you can easily adjust it in the UI. After you merge the preset in Custom items, change the transforms (position and rotation).
Thanks for getting back! I got it working briefly earlier today, but I started a new playthrough and tried to implement the same settings, the only problem is the bow texture is duplicated - so the original one stays where it is an entirely new one spawns when I attempt to adjust its position.
EDIT: Got it working! I reset everything and tried again and this time it went as planned.
Thanks a lot for this mod! The vanilla bow position is something that's bugged me since 2011 and I'm really glad somebody's finally sorted it out!
Which preset did you apply? Always, equipped or favorited? Where did you apply it? Actor tab or global tab? Did you try to change something on your own or did you just apply the presets? Did you equip your bow after that?
After spending some time figuring out how this preset works, it would seem it's not possible to switch back and forth between this placement and a vanilla-like placement without removing the added entry in Custom, is that correct?
There is no condition in "Display manager" to detect when a weapon is on a certain node, but you can:
Toggle "Disable" under "General" on the custom display instead of deleting it entirely.
Set up a condition in both "Display manager" and "Gear nodes" to switch the bow placement.
An example using a keybind condition, that can be created in "View>Keybinds":

When you press "B", it will change the keybind state to 1, thus moving the bow to the "Bow" node in "Gear nodes" and disabling the custom display in "Display manager". When you press "B" again, the state will revert to 0, undoing the switch.
You could also "shrink" the Bow Better node (the one used in the Custom display) in the "Positions" section of "Gear nodes" when another node is being used for the bow, by creating an offset for it. Example:

The preset in the custom items is not working, idk what you did there.
The truly realistic way of carrying a bow is using your hands anyway.

I'm trying to slightly move/rotate shield when Better Bow is showing, but neither Bow or Better Bow node as condition does not work.
How can I offset shield when Better Bow is showing?

To be exact, since I don't wear armor, I'm invisible.

The above will affect the node in all displays.
Indeed, IED is marvelous.
