Hi everyone!
First up, a HUGE thank you to Haladoon and Jankevdv for allowing me to use their awesome textures and models in this mod.
Diverse Archery Targets distributes different archery targets to the different Skyrim cities and holds. Have you ever wondered why every single archery target in Skyrim is made by the same poor craftsperson? Surely there are other people making archery targets in a province as large as Skyrim, so this mod attempts to add that diversity to the game.
I've also fixed a bug-bear of mine and have increased the length of the poles on the archery tripod so the targets now sit on the wood and don't float magically in front of the tripod. See the gallery for a comparison.
At present, eleven different targets are distributed throughout the world using Base Object Swapper. Here's how I set them up:
Whiterun - Haladoon's targets. There are three subtle variants.
Falkreath - Hay targets - A variant on Jankevdv's.
Riverwood - An alternative plain hay target.
Dawnstar - Targets made from ship's rope. A variant on Jankevdv's excellent work.
Solitude - Haladoon's targets again. Whiterun and Solitude can afford nice targets.
Morthal - Lighter rope. Probably sourced from nearby Dawnstar.
Markarth - Jankevdv's target retexture. Purchased from local farmers or made by Forsworn slaves.
Riften - Painted hay targets. Maevan paid for these.
Windhelm - Dark ship rope.
Now, you might rightly say, "Hang on, not all those towns have archery targets!" and you'd be right. So, I've added an (entirely optional) esp that adds target ranges to the towns that don't currently have them. It also adds targets to locations such as Fort Greymooor and Whitewatch Tower. Your next question might be, "Okay, buddy, but why no esl flagged esp. I mean, come on, is that too hard?" I've actually had a comment similar to that posted in the past! Well, it's not an esl flagged esp yet as I haven't finished adding targets, and it's optional, so...
Because the mod uses BOS, if you have mods that add targets to towns, they'll automatically be swapped for the ones I've listed above.
Installation order:
Base Object Swapper. Make sure you have the latest version. Endorse the mod if you haven't already.
Jankevdv's 2K Archery Targets. Install first. Endorse the mod, if you haven't already.
Archery Target Retexture 2k and 4k added. Install second (either 2k or 4k) and overwrite when asked. I use 4k with the mesh file. Endorse the mod.
Install my mod third. Either the basic BOS version, or the version that adds targets. You don't need both.
For my dark ropes I use better ropes for skyrim SE. You don't need to install this last one, but I do recommend it.
My other mods:
Less Repetitive Farmhouse Stonewalls UV tweaked meshes to make stonewall textures with large bricks look less obviously repeated.
Clovers Don't Float Less floaty clover plants. A mesh replacer.
Slaughterfish Eggs are Fish Eggs More fish egg-esque Slaughterfish eggs. You guessed it, a mesh replacer!
