FOR STEAMDECK USERS THIS WILL FIX ENDLESS COMPILING.
*note* I have MO2 installed on my steamdeck so steps may vary
switch to desktop mode
in discovery store install proton tricks ( you may have it already from installing mo2)
Launch Proton tricks select Skyrim SE : 489830
Select the default Wineprefix option
Install windows DLL or component
in the list select the following: ALL D3DCompiler_ options d3dcompiler_43 d3dcompiler_47 d3dx11_43 d3dx9_43 d3dx9 d3dx10
once you hit ok you'll be at the desktop. Wait for Proton tricks to open again hit cancel and cancel. You may not need all the d3d / d3dcomipler options however this is what I've done and it now works.
I use vortex instead but I download it everything you said and it seems to compile forever and there's no limit (only when I added the other mods like grass collision and light fix) , I can play normally but for some reason it keeps compiling? Is this normal? Should I wait more, when it hit 11500 shaders it keeps compiling endlessly and I don't know why, I disabled all my mods except for adress library and engine fixes and it keeps happening, I had this mods before and never had this problem
One thing you may want to pin is to remind people to keep all their CS stuff updated. Im sure a lot of people like me dont update a lot of their mods as long as they are working, which is usually fine since they are independent. But since CS is so intertwined, adding new stuff can break things. Keeping them all updated is very important. I was having compilation failures with dynamic cubemaps until I updated each CS mod.
Hello everyone! I have a AMD 6900xt, 5900x, 32gb and good SSD running at 1800p.My issue is that I have lower fps with Lux in interior like Dragonsreach, Bannered Mare (44fps) with CS than default Rudy ENB (60fps). Messing with the shaders menu and tweaking or turning stuff off changes nothing. In the exteriors 60 fps smooth with CS and 50-60 with ENB. Does anyone have these kind of issues or is it a AMD thing? Thanks!
I'm in VR. Mod is working but I put the puddles wet effect close to the max and when I move the headset down to look the ground the puddle wet effect dissapear and if I look to the front again is coming back. Someone know something about this issue??????? Thank you so much.
Glad you got it working in VR. For some reason, I cannot get the menu to show up. Do you have to switch to your desktop to use the menu? Like, take off your headset?
I think that the menu is always in the desktop of the computer not in the headset. In the ENB is the same. So yes, you need to remove a little the headset to see the screen of the monitor.
Unfortunately, it won't work. :( Is there potentially something that might prevent SkyrimVR from selecting the correct window? The only menu that seems to open is the Open Animation Replacer menu. This is very confusing.
Install OVR in steam. Launch OVR in Steam. This will open Steam VR. Then launch Skyrim VR and now the keyboard must be working and you must open the menu. OVR add more options to Steam VR in the menu and this fix the keyboard to me in Skyrim VR. In the past it was free but I don't know if you have to pay something. Don't forget to select the Skyrim VR window in the monitor screen when you are playing with the mouse. If you have another window selected in the monitor the keyboard will never work.
just playing skyrim again recently, last working version for me was v 0.5.0, my mistake was updating the mod and deleting shader cache on MO overwrite folder, the mod simply not working now, shader not being compiled when the game starts, and when i roll back back the last working version (0.5.0) pc always crashing and shutdown my pc when compiling shader. And what is AVX things mentioned in mod page, didn't aware it exist in the past.
For VR players the FAQ states: If playing in VR, the virtual keyboard does not work and the menu is not shown in VR mode. Change to desktop mode and press the key on your physical keyboard.
How does one change to desktop mode while playing in VR? This step has me very confused. I physically press the "End" key on my keyboard while playing VR and nothing happens. Please help!
I can't seem to get the menu to open. There must be something that is preventing me from selecting the Skyrim desktop window. Is there a workaround for this?
Hello there! I just install CS, other recommended mods - it's ok compiling, but wettnes don't work, than i delete "shaderCashe" folder and now shaders stop compiling! Directory at shaderCache creating but it's empty... Trying uninstall all CS and mods, try reinstall - still nothing, CS stopping compiling shaders. Updatep my video driver - still nothing, install old version of CS (0.7.4, 0.8.5) - nothing. I'm play skyrim VR, install all required mods (just for grass lighting i dunno - what grass i need? still using Skyrim Flora Overhaul - dunno working it together or not...) How can i manually compile shader cache? ("end" hotkey do nothing - just open my upscaler, try OFF upscaler - than do nothing when press "end") Is there any suggestions how to fix all of this?
Fix it - reinstall all mods and game... Seams like problems ib "VR Parallax Shader Fix" mod
Omg.... Now without "VR Parallax Shader Fix" i got glitches in my all entire screen when going outside of townsm dungeons, etc... Try ONLY delete shadertools.dll - still got glitches... When full on "VR Parallax Shader Fix" - CS not compile shaders... What's wrong?! What i need to do?
Again fix it myself - just delete "Tree LOD Lighting" and recompile shaders. But WHY u type "FEATURES FOR VR" for "Screen-Space Shadows" if it have in requirements this Tree LOD mod? For VR this mode glitch entire screen...

I had the following error:
1486 shaders failed to compile. check installation and communityshaders.log
Followed the steps you described and it works now. (But in step 6, I only selected d3dcompiler_47 and d3dx11_43)
Thank you!
By the way... where's communityshaders.log? I can't find it.

I think only one mod ever done this could skyrim graphics reloaded or something along those lines and it was for oldrim.

Recently, I discovered some artifacts during the reading in one location :

I don’t know if this could be related to CS but I just updated from 0.7.4 to 0.8.7 (didn't try between) before my last walk in skyrim.
For information, I use theses new moduls of CS 0.8 :
-dynamiccubemaps
-subsurfacescattering
-watercaustics
-wetnesseffects
