THIS MOD REQUIRES A NEW CHARACTER.
(thats as large as it would let me make the text)

Yes, a brand spanking new character. No, this isnt just a gentle suggestion, you need a new save/character/playthrough whatever you want to call it
If you want the mod to work correctly you need to start a new game by clicking "NEW" on the main menu.

It is just a side effect of me replacing a vast amount of in game papyrus functionality with the SKSE plugin.

If vanilla Survival Mode has so much as touched your save (and it should have as it is now been shipped with the vanilla game for over a year now), even if it hasn't been enabled in-game, it will cause issues.

Edit: To be clear, the mod can be updated mid-save unless stated otherwise if you are playing a character already with this mod installed. I will be sure to make it clear if an update is save incompatible.

I hope you all enjoy this mod, as it has been a while in the making!

Please see this article for compatibility info.
Also, feel free to check out some of my other mods:

SunHelm (Dont use SMI and SunHelm at the same time. They are two different implementations of needs)

    Update:
    1.5.2 should address the issues.
Thank you for your patience, and for everyone's really thorough reports (including crashlogs and context as to what they did to reproduce). These sort of things go such a long way to helping me solve issues.

I only want hunger, cold and warmth feature tbh. Is there a way to disable fast travel restriction on the need to sleep etc?

Fast travel intermittently stops working in version 1179. This was with bDisableFastTravel set to 0 and survival mode off in the settings menu. It works when this mod is disabled. I suspect the 1170 -> 1179 update broke a few things as I did not have this issue before.
I appreciate that colinswrath included the source code, DLLs break easily.

Sleep is not working for some reason. Pressing "T" while in bed only passes time and I never regain fatigue back. I'm using the GTS collection btw.

Just curious why this mod has edited (and saved) the Spell 'doomsteedability', the Perks 'PerkDualFlurry30' and 'PerkDualFlurry50'?

    Are these just dirty edits?

I'm not sure what is going on, but upon downloading this mod, Survival Mode no longer works. It is activated in the setting menu, but I don't have any survival mechanics. The UI properly displays warmth ratings and such, but I don't have to eat, rest, or stay warm. If I disable the mod, Survival Mode behind working again as normal. Is anyone else having this problem, and how can I fix it?

Have you started a new game or just continued from an existing save?

my only potential criticism atm is that the cold dose not feel like an issue at all. like i have 0 need to play around it kind of no issue. like i just traveled from windhelm to dawnstar in a blizzard in iron armor and a cloak and i got to the fort between the two and at worst down abut a 5th of my HP was missing maybe less then the blizzard cleared up after getting past the fort and i was actually starting to warm up. and all this was after i added the survival settings mod and tried to buff it back up a touch. (unmoded id be at half HP by the time i got to dawnstar if i was not wearing full fur and even the id be down to a third at the least) like maybe I'm just lucky and haven't noticed it and i happened to be in a warm month in the middle of the day but idk the cold almost feels irrelevant

that being said that argonian buff is excellent. they are basically unplayable in survival without that which to me was the biggest selling point of this mod. idk if no other mods say it but to my knowledge no other ones do that

Shortly after I started a game with this mod all the warmth, and hunger values disappeared from the UI. Furthermore, I could level up without having to sleep. The cold, fatigue, and hunger affects seem to be working as intended but none of the values show up in my UI anymore.

Hi guys, can anyone give me a little help?I was using this mod until last month, I went to update my mod list, and when I downloaded it it started to crash the game right when the Bethesda logo appears, reading the bug report, they indicated that the problem is with the SSE engine, fixed in the version 1.5.97 (which in this case is my game) and the problem is that the solution they recommend is that I use SSE version 1.6.40 (version 6.2) does anyone know if I can use this version in my 1.5. 97?

I'm trying to develop a mod that takes into account the current cold level. Does this mod expose that in any way? The included SurvivalModeImprovedApi is rather spartan...

In the vanilla Papyrus-based implementation, one could have (conceptually at least) made the Survival_NeedCold script into a conditional to allow the currentColdLevel property to also be a conditional and therefore be available for the GetVMScriptVariable function.

Edit: nevermind, found several bindings to global variables, so I'll use those

is there a survival mode global .. that effects npcs too ? i want to see random peasants chickens dogs and trolls suffer the conditions of skyrims harsh weather.
i want to see random frozen dead people and rabbits out in the wasteland.

This crashes when used together with Untarnished UI. Will there ever be a compatibility patch for those two? Or is there some SkyUI middleman patch to facilitate this?

I'll post this comment on both mods.

    Thanks!
