Thank you kindly, stranger! I'm so glad you like it! Sometimes less is more! ;)
I'm pleased to announce there are already a couple fixes for that. They all offer different approaches, so you can mix and match them until you're content:
Footprints - Yes, the main footprints mod. Did you look at ALL the files? Optional: Footprints - ENB (Install it after Footprints 1.6.1). "Bypasses an ENB bug which incorrectly applies effects to transparent alpha blended decals." It's a hack/workaround which I'm sure works for some setups, but my issue was bright kicked-up particle fx and it didn't help me. EDIT: I have never had this issue, but since learned that this is intended as a fix for people seeing a "box/rectangle around footsteps" (and maybe other decal alpha issues), and has nothing to do with the brightness of the particle effect. Don't use it UNLESS you have the box outline issue.
Footprints Bright Snow Fix - There are two files: Footprints Bright Snow fix - the main one. I stopped using the above fix, started using this one, and haven't looked back. This was all I needed!
She also offers a nuclear option if you're still having issues: Footprints Bright Snow fix - Disabled particles - "Meshes with deleted particles. 100% safe from brightness. Better performance." Good luck my friends
thanks man, please can you use your magic to fix the bright waterfall of Water For ENB? i used this mod but its still too bright in the dark, im using the darker nights mod
I tried that same fix as you, but like you, I also found my waterfalls were still too bright. Later I added Flickering Meshes Fix further down my load order (to avoid other issues), but quickly realized it also fixed my waterfalls!
Flickering Meshes Fix - an AIO / fomod installer for mod managers. This is just really good to have, for reasons. Make your choices on the first 2 pages, and then the third page looks like this:
Make sure you tick on the mesh fix for Bright Waterfall Fix for ENB (I also check water for ENB mesh fixes - just in case there are some non-waterfall water meshes that need fixing, too). I hope this helps <3
For ENB users: I started out with Fluffy Snow which IS really good, but Nordic Snow... oh my... *chef's kiss* It's more complete, it blends better, it looks like the real deal. Hook yourself up.
While I understand visuals can look different depending on your setup, I still think you should provide at least some pictures to help establish a baseline to what you consider 'fixed' about them
When I say it's finally fixed, I mean for ME. YMMV, and I'm not throwing shade on anyone else's efforts. I wasn't even aware of that version, maybe it's great. It's nice to have options! (that's why I included 2 alternatives with mine!)
I understand screenshots are convenient, but Alright you pain in my butt, I made one and put it on the page. 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Love you! * -luf * in platonic, argonian sort of way
P.S. I checked out ToosTruus Choice, it's a nice collection of snow shader textures from around the nexus. The difference is they haven't modified any files, all the other breaths out there AFAIK are only 1k with both heavy shading and near-overexposure in the texture. My version is AI-upscaled to 2K in Topaz Gigapixel, levels adjusted and transparencies tweaked in photoshop. You can lay my mod over theirs if you think that's the best of both worlds. Also go endorse that fellow if you haven't already, since you like their collection. I'm sure they will appreciate it!

Maybe you could take a look at the footstep particle effect too?

Personally I consider them 'fixed' by ToosTruus Choice for R.A.S.S. so I'd be interested in how yours differs
