Tweaks existing mods, followers and locations, removing force-started quests, force-greets, inventory items and map markers so your new level 1 character can have a "fresh start" from scratch.

FRESH START SERIES
(Work in Progress)

If you're like me, you like making new characters in RPGs.  I love starting at level 1 with nothing and having to build myself up from the gutter.

However a lot of mods out there - great as they are - often have poor integration.  They just spam you with a quest right off the bat with no explanation, as if your character had psychic knowledge of "rumors", or map coordinates, or a summon spell/tracking marker.

This series of mods will help you fill up your load order with 1,652 mods, but without your fresh level 1 being bombarded with quests, items and tracking spells.  You'll truly be starting from scratch with no quests!

NOTE:  All my files are .esl-flagged so won't take up a slot in the 255 mod limit.  Note, however, that all my dependencies are on the original files only, and will probably not work if you have transformed them in any way (i.e. compacted formIDs for your own esl-ification).  If you esl-flag these mods, you will have to reinstall them, load them in XEdit with my mod also ticked, and then re-esl-ify them so the records match.

Here are the mods I've tweaked so far:

Anna NPCs - removes the "guidebook" and all map markers.  The book can still be added via console if you need it, and the map markers must be discovered.

Away, Come Away - The dream doesn't start right away, but must actually be dreamt while your player sleeps in a certain special location.  (Click spoiler if you want to spoil the "surprise".)

At the inn in Dawnstar.

JWD's Bjorn Ironside The Viking - A Standalone Nord Follower - Removes his quest tracker

Black Sacrament Armor - .esl version required!  Probably won't work with the .esp version.  Quest doesn't auto-load, but must be discovered in game.  Click the spoiler if you're a big fat cheater.

From a note in the Falkreath DB sanctuary.

Forgotten Seasons (CC plugin) - removes map marker

Myrwatch (CC) - removes map marker

Tundra Homestead (CC) - removes map marker

Umbra (CC) - removes map marker

(For all CC content the map markers still function, but must first be discovered by the player.)

Conan Hyborian Age - Book which starts the quest removed from the world, but will instead be found out on your travels

Spoiler:
Show

Added to the leveled lists as a "rare" level book.

Khajiit Will Follow - "Main Quest" completely hidden from the player, and book removed from startup inventory.  (Can still be added via console if you like).  You must find these crazy cats organically as you travel!

Lustmord Armor - "misc" quest removed, map marker removed.  You have to travel to its item and "find" it.  Everything still functions, though.

Maids II Deception
- Jonestead map marker removed at startup, and misc quest to visit Jonestead removed.  Quest will still progress as usual once your character "finds" Jonestead.

McMiller Chronicles - Angus McMiller disabled at startup.  He will eventually visit the Winking Skeever, but not right away.    NOTE:  Requires a new game!

Spoiler:

When your player is level 10 or higher.  Uses a new script to spawn Angus when you hit level 10.  If you install mid-playthrough and are already level 10 or higher, the script won't fire and he'll never spawn!

Sofia, the Funny Voiced Follower - removes tracking marker

Toccata - removes tracking marker and summon spell

Vivace - removes tracking marker

Luthwen, the Elf Follower from Middle Earth - removes summon spell (can still be added via console)

Tania the Hermit - removes summon spell (can still be added via console)

New!  Clara Goldspirit - Disables Clara initially.  She will soon visit Whiterun thought!  (Requires new game!)

Spoiler:

Clara won't show up in your game until you have reached level 5.  Note that you MUST level up in order for the script to fire.  If you install this on an existing save after level 4, Clara will never show up in your game!

FUTURE PLANS (no guarantees!):

These are either mods that I've forgotten about and will get to soon enough, or other mods I've tinkered with but haven't quite figured out yet.  My knowledge of CK questing is limited and I'm learning as I go.

Alternate Start, Live Another Life - remove both quests (maybe)

Aurlyn Dawnstone - Remove startup quest.  WIP.   I've tried a couple times and it's being finnicky.

Kaidan 2 - Remove startup quest.  I have a semi-working version but leads to weird MQ behavior.  If you want to use my experimental version send me a private message, maybe you have some pointers for me if you're a modder.
Use THIS mod to remove Kaidan's forced start.  Thanks to Urbon for the info.

Cheese of the Ages - delay the courier quest

Shadows of the Past - delays the courier quest

Rigmor of Cyrodiil - change how player obtains the note

Arissa - won't visit right away, add conditions

SUGGESTIONS?

Have I missed a popular quest mod which force-starts itself upon install?  Maybe I could take a look.  Let me know in the comments!
