I want to make use of Arachnomancy's easier spider recipes but woe is me that they still require gems. This should be a perfect addition. Would it be alright to install this mid-game?

Does anyone know of a mod that increases the chance of getting gems from mining?

Hey there, Jigalag! This is such a wonderful idea and I just downloaded your great mod to give you an endorsement! Seems like almost nobody ever thinks of jewelry makers like me... *lol*
I hate to be that user, but I have to ask - sorry for this! *sighs* Would you perhaps consider making a patch for Immersive Jewelry? I‘m especially interested in much more hundred carats gems (I hope that‘s the right translation.) Obviously, you don‘t have to do this, I just thought it costs nothing to ask.
Thank you very much for all your efforts and work!

Hi LucyAuditore, I'm glad to hear you enjoy the mod! You are right that it never hurts to ask. I would like to make a patch for Immersive Jewelry since it is one of the the most popular jewelry mods out there, but unfortunately it's simply too big to make doing so realistic. Making the patch for just CCOR took me about a month to do and that mod is tiny compared to the amount of jewelry items added by Immersive Jewelry. Sorry I couldn't say yes, but if anyone else who sees this is up for the challenge they're free to try to make the patch and post it.

Just a heads up, the name of the ESL version of the .esp has changed. Version 1.0 is Get More GemsESL.esp and version 1.1 is Get More Gems ESL.esp. The difference is the space between Gems and ESL. I don't know if it was intentional or not but wanted to let you know. Not a big deal but some people may freak when they load a save after updating (I was one of them until a short time ago).

Thanks for the heads up. That was an oversight on my part. I'll go fix that now.

Man you're awesome! I use Smithing Oils, and getting some gems (Sapphires and Emeralds in particular) was a torture (without Prowler's Profit).

I want to suggest some changes, both from this mod and its parts:

    • Enhanced Jewelry Merchants: please, forward USSEP fixes for those 3 merchants (specifically, that fix adds PerkMasterTraderGold [LVLI:0010C1CC] to their chests, because they're merchants after all)
    • Jewelry Gem Extraction: CCOR adds recipes for creating 10 rings and 5 necklaces using 1 Silver and Gold Ingots. Using your recipes, one can exploit the 1:2 ratio and "dupe" ingots, getting two ingots from one.

Once again, many thanks for this mod, everything added was truly missing from vanilla.

Thanks, this is the sort of constructive feedback that can really help authors improve their mods! I'm still relatively new to modding Skyrim on the computer at this point so I've never actually heard of 'forwarding' but after some brief research I think I get the basic idea. I will have to do some more research and testing but if my mod is cancelling out something the USSEP fixed then I'll definitely want to correct that and post an updated version.

As to the CCOR request, I appreciate the suggestion and I'll keep it in mind, but I don't think I'll be changing the recipe for the time being. For my justification, I'd have to refer you to one of the notes I put under the Jewelry Gem Extraction mod regarding exploiting some of the circlet breakdown recipes for money. I understand that it's temping to cheat when someone places something right in front of you, but there's also dozens of ways to cheat thanks to console commands and other mods. I simply can't accommodate for how my mod will affect game balance when interacting with other mods. Plus it's just gold and silver. You can literally make them out of iron ore with a vanilla spell. Still, it was good to know.

Hello again Jigalag23. Sorry for using weird words and not explaining them!
Here's an explanation I created for you, to explain the basics of forwarding, and how can be done in this mod

Regarding recipes changes, you are right. Balancing changes with other mods is a pain, and specially those related with gold acquisition. Vanilla has Transmute, and other, more efficient ways to bankrupt everybody in the region, like creating items with high level Alchemy+Smithing+Enchanting.

Hey Jigalag23, do you plan to add flawless gem crafting and extraction for new gems from CCOR.
I think many people use CCOR and it'd be awesome if your mod support those gems too.

      Felipegl,

No worries! Thanks for creating an explanation.

      Gilbertxyukari,

Hi! I hadn't intended to, but since you're the second person to ask about CCOR I guess I could look into it. I don't use that mod personally, so I'll have to familiarize myself with it before I would be able to make any sort of integration patch. Might take some time, but I'll see what I can do.

Expanded Gemstones was one of the mods I came across while looking for gem mods. I ended up not getting it because (from what I understand) what that mod is doing is creating new varieties of gems based on the vanilla gems (i.e. a round ruby or a lower quality diamond) and then injecting them into the game in various ways. That's fine and dandy and all (especially if you like shiny objects, which who doesn't?), but that doesn't help me if I need, say, a bunch of regular vanilla emeralds for a receipe from another mod I have.

My mod is focused on increasing the availability of just the vanilla gems. The rate at which you obtain them in an unmodded game just isn't fast enough when you actually have multiple crafting recipes that want them. Plus this is an all-in-one version of my previous gem mods so if someone likes all three they only need to download one mod. If they were using the individual .esp versions then it reduces their load order count and if they were using the .esls then it simply declutters their load order a little which is always nice.
