Description

This is a small overhaul to not-so-lawful seafaring NPCs, that distributes the Practical Pirate Outfit armor sets. Pirates look like pirates now.
Lightweight plugin with minimal required edits. ESP flagged as an ESL. Requires Practical Pirate Outfit.

Detailed Features
  • Tweaked the weapon list for sailors to have a chance for scimitars, instead of only daggers.
  • Radiant pirate NPCs will now use the light pirate armor, and share the sailor weapon list.
  • Unique pirate NPCs and Pirate Captains will always be given scimitars.
  • Pirate NPCs that seemed to be of higher rank will wear dark pirate armor.
  • Any necessary USSEP fixes were forwarded into the plugin.

NPCs Intentionally Excluded
  • Any ships not explicitly or heavily implied to be staffed by pirates had their crew untouched. This includes the towns' sailor NPCs (all were mercantile or transport) and all NPCs inhabiting shipwrecks (they appear to only be scavengers).
  • While The Redwave's crew are pirates, I've intentionally excluded a few of their crew. One Red Wave crew member was a mage (the robe made sense), one was a warrior (thought they'd prefer the heavier armor), and the other specifically mentions enjoying finery in dialogue (they wore fine clothes).
  • I didn't want Haknir, Thalin, and Garuk to look identical to other crew due to their ghostly effect. For variety's sake I've left them each as-is.

Install & Uninstall

Adding or removing this plugin requires a new save. The outfits and gear will still be vanilla for NPCs you've met, otherwise.

Install through the mod manager of your choice, or drop the plugin into your data folder.
Uninstall by deleting the entry in your mod manager, or deleting the plugin from the data folder.

Compatibility

Incompatible with things that directly edit sailors' weapon leveled list.
Incompatible with things that directly edit corsairs, pirates, Red Wave crew, Blood Horkers, Blackbloods, Haknir's crew, or their outfits.
My optional tweak plugins are incompatible with mods that directly edit Practical Pirate Outfit's armors.

Semi-compatible with mods that add pirate NPCs. Load my mod lower to be safe.
Compatible with model replacers for scimitars (i.e. LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons SE).
Probably compatible with anything else. Will list any incompatibilities if they come up.
