About this mod

Adds 19 variations of vanilla clothing and armor that show less cleavage, thigh, and midriff. All variants are fully integrated into leveled lists, guard comments, and magic item distribution. Unique/rare versions include recipes that allow you to convert them back and forth between vanilla and modest meshes.

This mod adds alternate versions of 14 armor pieces and 6 clothing pieces to your game world. The meshes are drawn from Iceburg's original Skyrim Modesty Mod and reduce the amount of bare skin on display. The following items are covered:

  • Studded Armor
  • Fur Kilt (Bandit 1)
  • Fur Kilt with Mantle (Bandit 2)
  • Fur Armor (Bandit 3)
  • Hide Armor
  • Savior's Hide
  • Vampire Gray Armor
  • Vampire Light Gray Armor
  • Vampire Red Armor
  • Vampire Royal Red Armor
  • Falmer Light Armor
  • Forsworn Armor
  • Ancient Nord Armor
  • Unplayable Ancient Nord Armor
  • Barkeeper's Clothes
  • Chef's Clothes
  • Farmer's Clothes 4
  • Nocturnal's Clothes
  • Beggar's Clothes
  • Tavern Wench's Clothes

You can see images of each armor in the gallery. Additional images including A-B comparisons with vanilla, are available on Iceburg's original mod page.

Features

  • All common items are integrated into leveled lists and should appear on NPCs, merchant inventories, and appropriate containers
  • If the vanilla version of the item had a tempering formula, the modest version has one also
  • If the vanilla version of the item had enchanted versions, modest versions will also appear
  • For unique items, or for items that appear in very small numbers in the world (Savior's Hide, Nocturnal's Clothes, Royal Vampire Armor, and the Falmer Cuirass), you can use the forge to convert the item back and forth between its vanilla and modest versions
  • If the vanilla item triggered guard comments, then the modest versions will also
  • This mod carries forward the changes from the Unofficial SSE Patch and supports (but does not require) Weapons, Armor, Clothing and Clutter Fixes.
  • The modest versions use the same texture sets as the vanilla versions, so mods that improve vanilla texture quality will also upgrade the modest versions.

Limitations

  • This mod does not change the appearance of the male version of each item.
  • This mod does not change the statistics of any of the items, even if they appear to provide more protection or warmth.
  • This mod does not include the alternate underwear from the original mod.
  • The modest versions will not automatically inherit changes to the vanilla items introduced by other mods.
  • The modest meshes are based on the vanilla female body and do not have the advanced morphing found with modded bodies.
  • This mod assumes a 50/50 distribution between vanilla and modest versions of each item. If you want this to change, you can go into the leveled sublists and increase the number of either the vanilla or modest item to change the ratio (e.g., if you want 75% modest and 25% vanilla, then add two more chances for the modest item to the leveled list, so it has 3 modest entries and 1 vanilla entry).
  • If you want only the modest versions of these outfits and no chance of the vanilla item, you may want to check out the original mod, which is a replacer. However, you can accomplish this also by removing the vanilla items from the leveled sublists in this plugin.
  • Some of these items will never be seen in an unmodded game; Nocturnal's outfit is unobtainable and the Unequippable Draugr Armor only appears on male NPCs. However, they were included to support mods that change these characteristics or use the outfits on other actors.

Compatibility

  • Generally this mod should display a high level of compatibility with other mods.
  • If you have other mods that alter leveled lists, outfits, or guard dialogue, you should use a tool such as Wrye Bash or SSEEdit to create a patch.
  • All assets included in this mod are in a mod-specific directory structure, so it should not have any issues with overriding or being overridden by other mods.
  • The plugin has an ESL flag, so it will load in your extended FE load order space and will not take up a space in your main load order.

Installation

  • Load the mod in your mod manager of choice. You should not be prompted to override anything.
  • If you have potentially conflicting mods, rebuild your bashed patch or manually patch any conflicts in SSEEdit.
