The original mod hasn't been updated since 2013 and the SSE version since 2017; the original had a replacement option, but the port never did.
LeanWolf just recently released a patch for the SSE port by Hilli1, I applied that patch then converted the port from an "additional weapons" mod into a replacement version, which is this mod.

This mod is fully standalone, you do not need Better-Shaped Weapons for it, but I still fully recommend using his mod as well.

NEW! I've also gone ahead and ported Runed Nord Hero Weapons by thewingedloke (thank Bethesda for naming these confusingly similar to each other)
I again patched it with Better-Shaped Weapons by LeanWolf and (maybe) made a small bugfix to the patch too.

NEW 2!!! jg1 has given me permission to host a patch for his models from Believable Weapons this is now included in the installer

Latest Update: I was able to get permission to use ikonomov's Better-Shaped Bows of the Heavens models and, after converting them to use the Runed textures, I've bundled all previous downloads up into an FOMOD installer complete with options and comparison pics.
Baring any unforeseen bugs, this ought to be the final version *crosses fingers*

Installation
There is no esp, these are just loose textures and models.  They've been run through CAO with minimum settings to make sure they will not break anything.
Just drop the folders into your Skyrim data directory or have your mod organizer load it after any other mod with conflicts.
Overwriting any of these files will (probably) break something; aka install Believable Weapons / Better-Shaped Weapons / Better-Shaped Bows of the Heavens, then my mod.
Since these are just loose textures and models, it ought to be safe to install or remove during a playthrough.

Load Order should be something like this:
  • Install the full Believable Weapons picking to use scabbards on greatswords (this step is recommended, but not required)
  • Install the full Better-Shaped Weapons picking to use scabbards on greatswords (again this step is recommended, but not required)
  • Install Better-Shaped Bows of the Heavens (again this step is recommended, but not required)
  • Install this mod


Permissions
LeanWolf:

  • You MAY use these meshes in your mod PROVIDED THAT:
  • - you credit me (a link to this mod in your Desc is nice but I'll settle for mention in the credits),
  • - you're not simply re-packing all or a good part of this mod (no modpacks),
  • - you're not charging money for the mod!

Hilli1:

  • Other user's assets: All the assets in this file belong to the author, or are from free-to-use modder's resources
  • Upload permission: You can upload this file to other sites but you must credit me as the creator of the file

IconicDeath's version from Project Clarity were crisper than mine so I used those for the ones I could that are compatible
(I asked permission ofc and he said yes)
