About this mod

Alternate Followers has now been reworked into a new version packed with amazing features, yet the core concept with a diverse racial follower representation for all the races without any exclusion remains. With a roster of 60 qualified candidates (yes, you did read right, 60 followers), who are your favorites?

Permissions and credits
Thanks to cortex56 and the permission to use this mod authors amazing AI code there is now a great "healing" system in place for Alternate Followers 2.0. Please look on cortex56's followers too as they can co-exist perfectly with any version of Alternate Followers. Here are also a list of people that contributed with valuable ideas and feedback:

Requirements

Further Plans
  • Tweaking spells. Open for suggestions! Considering implementing AoE spells on Mages.

Warning to any users with Alternate Followers 1.0 planning to use Alternate Followers 3.0
  • Please make a clean save before upgrading (preferably a new game to be honest)

Alternate Followers highlights
  • All races are each represented with 6 followers.
  • Both follower genders have similar access to caster and melee classes
  • Followers civilian clothing is color coded for class: blue (Mage), brown (Paladin) and red (Death Knight).
  • All followers level with the player indefinitely
  • All followers are marked "Essential" i.e. cannot be killed. When they reach 0 health, they go into a special "bleedout" state and recover over time
  • All followers will join directly when asked (no quests or hireling fees)
  • Any followers when asked to leave will go back to from where they joined you and sandbox in that specific location again.
  • All followers can be married.
  • All followers will try to heal you when needed (and to some extent other followers that also might need healing)
  • All followers have a individual "summon book" in their inventory. If you read that book you can summon that specific follower directly to your location anytime.
  • All followers sandbox in their location before joining you and never looks "out of place".
  • Works out-of-the-box with Immersive Amazing Follower Tweaks SE

Important features
Regarding Healing; - Your followers will do their best to heal you, but you can always make it easier for them by thinking of "line of sight" a.k.a. "LOS", and try to run closer to them since they might themselves be in a sticky situation.

Regarding Melee; - While 1h and Shield might be the best defense, your "tank" followers are fully proficient in all combat styles. Here are some examples:
  • 1h weapon + shield, Heavy Armor (or Light Armor) = tanking
  • 2h weapon, Heavy Armor (or Light Armor) = tanking dps
  • 1h x 2 weapon, Heavy Armor = tanking dps
  • 1h x 2 weapon (prefairably daggers for the x15 crit), Light Armor = rogue dps
  • 1h weapon (prefairably use two daggers instead), Light Armor = rogue dps
