Oh, man! So I finally figured out how to receive notifications if someone adds a comment in here. It seems you have to change a setting in the forum thread itself, and not on this page. There's a button on the top right of the forum thread that says "Follow This Topic". Really sorry, everyone!

    Version 1.8 available!

Now that Brehanin has released version 8.3 of Better Vampires, I've updated Curse of the Dragonborn to work with his new version. Please be aware that using version 1.8 also has the following requirements:

    • Skyrim SE v 1.5.80
    • SKSE 64 v 2.0.16
    • USSEP v 4.1.9
    • SkyUI
    • Better Vampires v 8.3 (only if you actually use BV)

If you're still using older versions, please use v 1.7 of my mod.

    Issues with BSA version identified

For whatever reason, the scripts aren't recognized correctly when using the BSAs so I'm no longer offering a BSA version and have also removed the BSA version from v 1.7. I've verified that the three bugs I just marked as "fixed" in the Bugs section are all consequences of this.

    Compatible with Bloodmoon Rising

My latest tests have shown that Curse of the Dragonborn is fully compatible with Bloodmoon Rising. No patch is necessary. Moonlight Tales and Bloodmoon Rising, on the other hand, are NOT compatible! Don't attempt to run them together!

    Version 1.7 available

I've added a patch for Sacrosanct in this version, and a merged patch if you're using Sacrosanct and Moonlight Tales together. Sacrosanct is a great but also a complex mod, and I wasn't able to test all aspects, so if you're using my mod with Sacrosanct, there will be a slight risk factor involved. As always, if you encounter any issues, please use the Bugs section to let me know.

As with version 1.6, I've also included a loose file version for those of you who are using Better Vampires 8.2SE, since Brehanin currently only offers his mod as a loose file version. The reason I'm doing this is because loose files will always override BSA files. This means my mod won't work correctly with BV 8.2 since Brehanin's loose files will override mine, no matter where you put the mods in your load order.

Please be careful if you use the loose file version, since having loose files in your Data folder can have unforeseen consequences, especially when uninstalling!

What's your load order? Make sure my patched version loads AFTER Sacrosanct!

The only conflict record with Sacrosanct is 000EAFD5 - PlayerVampireQuest.
And the Curse of the Dragonborn - SC. esp is loaded after Sacrosanct.

The two resist cure effect has successfully added to my character's magic effect menu. But they didn't work on Lord Harkon.

Not sure if this is still an issue, but were you using the BSA or the loose files version of my mod? For some reason, the BSA version doesn't work correctly. Sorry! I've removed it from the download section.

Does this mod prevent you from being cured via the regular means? IE black soul gem with fallion or through the companions questline? Or does it only prevent curing from infection?

Yes, this mod prevents you from being cured, either by Fallion or by being turned into a werewolf during the companions questline. It also prevents you from being cured of being a werewolf when bitten by Lord Harkon or Serana. It even prevents you from being cured it you use Better Vampires and try to cure yourself via the troubleshooting tools in the BV MCM. If you would like to be cured, you can disable the resistances in the MCM.

Thank you for sharing this mod. It's been fun this playthrough being a hybrid. Endorsed.

So i understand you are not supporting the mod compatibility that better vampires added so it could run with sacrosanct, acording to the ccreator of sacrosanct if you use the compatibility mod from better vampires better vampires takes the upper hand over most settings from sacrosanct so if i were to use your mod and select better vampires would that maybe make it work even without extra work on your part? just wondering.

P.S: Could you change the color of the effects from red to white cause everytime i open that menu i think i'm sick and end up consuming a potion of cure disease

I'm afraid I don't use Sacrosanct, so I can't really say very much. If you're adventurous, you could try it on a test game and see how it works if you use the BV/SC version.

The color of the resistances is supposed to be red, since the "curse" is a kind of sickness. All "negative" effects appear red in the Active Effects panel.

So, your installer has an option for Better Vampires OR Sacrosanct, any chance of making one for both together? BV has an S patch allowing them to work together, but I am hesitant to put all 3 together and risk something that breaks my game... again (too many cool mods out there!)

Quick question, does it work for custom races? eg: Ningheim. Since there are no race edits.

    Thanks.

Super awesome mod. I like the way its setup, and with no additional features making compatibility far simpler. I would like to know if a patch for undeath will ever be added.

Hey OP, any chance we'll see a compatibility patch for this mod and Curse of the Vampire? Before I looked at the authors, I thought you had made both mods. :D
